  1. Theme Hospital FTW deflating and then re-inflating those patients heads lol
  2. The FX8350 is fine maybe look at getting a different GPU my Media PC has the FX8320E and it games fine using a GTX770 in that machine at the moment and even 1440p I get high FPS so maybe consider a GTX970 or R9 390X, I use to have a 3770k and I noticed very little difference going from a i7 to a FX8320E, Unless your going to be doing a lot of rendering then an intel might make more sense EDIT: Also I wouldn't worry too much about what minimum requirements say they usually say way more than is really needed I have seen games that say they require quad core cpu's minimum playing on laptop dual cores without any problems.
  3. Brill that means you have experience with the ROG Swift my Acer XB270HU has been returned because of faults is the Swift a good monitor or would a XB270HU replacement be better ? Acer build quality is a bit disappointing but I can't wait for the PG279Q
  4. That is interesting they will definitely need to sort that out before release, It could be some compatibility issue with the G-sync module and LG's display if it wasn't apparent in the Free-sync monitor.
  5. If you are using it purely for gaming a TN high refresh around 120-144hz is definitely worth the trade off of IPS especially in CS:GO everything looks smoother less blur and when someone comes round a corner and you swear you shot first on a 60hz monitor but some how died that becomes less often with a 144hz monitor (Source I recently upgraded to 144hz G-sync) Check out the AOC G2460PG it's a great gaming monitor with the addition of G-sync and would probably be about the right resolution for a GTX970
  6. A lot of Samsung smart phones are OLED so I wouldn't use that as a comparison OLED is far superior to any screen technology just a shame high refresh OLED monitor aren't in existence yet
  7. Angry Birds Support for Ultrawide don't know why but that made me chuckle
  8. Is this banding present no matter what refresh rate the monitor is on I don't recall them mentioning that
  9. I don't understand why no one has released a 60hz G-sync Ultrawide if the panel is designed to run at that before attempting to go to 100hz of the bat I understand this is a 60hz overclockable to 100hz but it just seems to me that they are playing with fire a bit pushing technology to it limits before even trying it with much more head room. 60hz with G-sync is pretty decent with out it feels choppy but I think I could deal with 60hz with G-sync. Or even a 2560x1080p 29" 144hz Curved Ultrawide with G-sync I would buy that for the time being until Display port 1.3 comes out and we can get 3440x1440 at the same refresh natively.
  10. Thanks for Sharing, That is some serious bad banding issue I hope that gets fixed have they all had this issue so far?
  11. 200hz seems over the top to me 144hz would be plenty why not put the resolution up a bit more.
  12. Yep that's the one it's not the worst TN panel I have ever used but it is a Glossy screen so even viewing from straight you don't get a perfect view if you have a light on in the room lol
  13. I'm quite happy with my PC but I really need a new monitor lol at the moment I'm using a HP w2207 which is 8 years old now and it turns it's self off whilst I'm gaming or video/photo editing which gets so annoying and then it takes 10 power button presses to get it to come back on. So I would love one of those Ultrawides
  14. Maybe it was a CPU thing rather than a GPU thing my media PC does have an FX 8320 which I got some bazar results when I tried my Titan X with it only managed 30FPS in GTA V at 1080p convinced this CPU was a bottleneck, can't wait to start using my gaming PC again still building it at the moment but I do find Intel based systems to have much more stable FPS (I might add im not a fan boy of either side I prefer AMD in media machines becuase of their value for money)
  15. Looks cool dude. I don't get why people are questioning you on how it can be improved though as I thought the prizes were for LG Ultrawides and one winner for the Dream setup so just because someone has an awesome PC doesn't mean they have an awesome monitor which mean they can still enter right? I mean my PC is a Dream as it get at this moment of time i7 5960X, 64gb Ram, Titan X SLI, m.2 2gb/s boot drive, 4 x Samsung 850 Evo's 250gb in raid 0 and 4TB x2 WD Blues SSHD's But my monitor absolutely sucks 16:10 1680x1050 60hz but from what I'm hearing I wouldn't be able to enter because of my PC
  16. Not using SLI yet was using a GTX770 still building my SLI Titan X PC
  17. It was purely just a test to see if I could get closer to the 144hz of my monitor to see if it's worth getting a replacement or RMA because it has severe backlight bleed and dead pixels
  18. XB270HU boxed up ready to be returned back using my old 60hz monitor and it looks tiny in comparison it's not bad for a TN though
  19. I didn't notice anything different other than framerate although the field of view looked different at 720p less in sight but I wouldn't have thought that would effect fps much
  20. So I was doing some testing on my 1440p 144hz monitor and I found that if I put my resolution down to 720p I get much worse frame rates than if I stay at 1440p now I would have thought less pixels would me less rendering I did this purely as a test in borderlands 2 my frame rate at 1440p was around 80 on average and at 720p it dropped to 50 on average does anyone know why this would happen Thanks
  21. I personally think the asking price is a bit high all you get extra is a IPS panel and 21hz overclock not really worth £300 more in my opinion other people may think differently
