  1. Sorry for some reason my PC did it again when typing this so I wasn't sure if it posted so I think it posted twice apologies for starting two threads
  2. Hi, The last couple of days my PC keeps powering off without warning no blue screen or anything. I have the AX860i which was an RMA replacement for my AX750 and at the moment that is the only thing I suspect is doing this I need help with troubleshooting as I am at loss as to what it could be any ideas what could possibly cause a PC to just power off without warning. Thanks
  3. Hi, So the last couple days my PC has randomly just turned it self off at any moment I can't work out what is causing it the PC posts fine my only thought at the moment is my Corsair AX860i could be the issue it was an RMA replacement for my AX750 however so I don't know if it even has warranty
  4. Hi, Looking at the Razer Black Widow X Chroma but noticed it uses their own switches I've used cherry MX Reds and Browns. The main reason I am looking at the razer keyboards is because I like my mice and keyboards to match in brands so I don't have tyo have two softwares installed I have a Corsair M65 Pro mouse which I got for christamas but have got to get exchanged due to the scroll wheel self scrolling intermittently (Not good in CS:GO or Overwatch when it keeps changing between weapons) I was told by a few people that a death adder mouse would be better for the type of game I play apparently the M65 has a large click input lag just looking for some opinions on this. I know its all personal preference but when I don't have access to try without buying I need some opinions to go off would I be better with a death adder chroma mouse and razer mechanical keyboard or would I be better just to get my M65 mouse replaced and stick with my current Cherry MX brown keyboard Thanks
  5. Yeah I want to use a Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 cooler so need to find out if the 330r fits a cooler that tall
  6. I dont like the soft paint finish on the s340 elite and the h440 wont fit my gpu without removing hard drive sleds just looking at the be quiet silent base 600
  7. Ok only thing that worries me about the 330r is the front audio cable is apparently too short
  8. Hi, Which of the cases in the title would have the best airflow Thanks
  9. If it gives me less hassle than my current platform I will be happy lol
  10. Yeah I want to get a kit that I can move over to the new platform even if I have to run them at 2133 or 2400 to start with just don't know if I should go 6700k or hold out for the 7700k lol loving the look of the Asus Strix z270 boards though although I do prefer msi boards normally. Is it much work to get a 6700k to 4.5ghz the 7700k is apparently equal ipc clock for clock vs 6700k so I assume bringing them to same clock speeds would yield same performance.
  11. is Kingston hyper x savage or Gskill V series any better I plan to move away from x99 onto z170 or z270 I would've waited for zen but after seeing all the benchmarks against 6900k it looks like zen will be a weak single core chip but good for multithreading just my take from what I've seen anyway. :Edit: Also Gskil Trident z white and grey kit at CL14 3200mhz
  12. haha Think the only cpu's I've ever seen quite large performance gains from overclocking is my 5960x but that's only because at stock the single core performance is pretty poor and my Athlon 240 again because it was pretty weak single core
  13. tbh with the clock speeds so high already on skylake and kabylake I wouldn't worry to much about overclocking 4.0 base or even 4.2 base for the 7700k and upto 4.5 boost is plenty for me leaving it at stock is less hassle with stability
  14. yeah so if I go with 4 stick two each side of my cpu will that be ok later on if I do decide to go back to a mainstream platform like z170/z270 that only has 4 dims?
  15. Yeah x99 itself is not easy to keep stable I hate x99 tbh and am considering moving over to z270 or Zen but Zen could be ages yet and I don't want to leave it too long as my cpu might not be worth anything once zen comes along lol it gets quite annoying cause I use an AIO and if I have it overclocked it ramps up and down every couple seconds I would rather it stay ramped up tbh might have to set the fan to 50% lowest or something to fix that but with ram the highest I have achieved stable is actually only 2400mhz which is why I was concerned more about case latency than speed I just remembered when I was running 2666mhz it kept crashing in planet coaster
  16. So Cas Latency doesn't matter either that's the part that making it hard to decide the crucial kit is such a good price for 32gb vs the others but it has the highest cas latency although the timings on the corsair are 15-17-17 the crucial kit is 16-17-17 so difference between those two will be minimal so at £146 would you say the crucial is better than paying I think it was £230 for the same crucial kit but it runs at 3000mhz and has a cas latency of 15-16-16
  17. Hi, So I started a thread about ram and i'm getting mixed opinions on Cas Latency I don't want to spend silly amounts of money just for lower timings and higher MHz if it makes little to no difference. I've seen some videos online that show extra MHz can make a big difference in games like GTA V and the Witcher 3 almost 20fps in some cases So I'm going to list some kits I can get and want to know your opinions: Crucial Ballistix Elite 32gb 2666mhz CL16 - £146 Corsair Vengeance 32gb 3000mhz CL15 £187 Kingston HyperX Savage 32gb 2666mhz CL13 £224 Kingston HyperX Savage 32gb 2400mhz CL12 £216 Which is the best kit for performance per £
  18. So are you saying a CL16 kit could actually be faster than a CL15 kit? I wanted crucial ballistix elite but was told the CL16 timings were terrible and that I should get the corsair vengeance at CL15 problem is I can't run rams at 3000mhz on my x99 platform it is only stable at 2666mhz so the corsair kit would run at 2666mhz the same as the crucial kit
  19. I haven't mixed rams lol I was looking to buy some and came across those timings
  20. I think I get it each number is the amount of ns it takes to complete an operation
  21. Hi, Whats the difference between CL 15-17-17 and CL 15-16-16 I assume the second one is better?
  22. No idea how the crucial ones do it some probe according to their site but the memory is super unstable hence why I sent it back I kept crashing when playing planet coaster with that ram I think my old corsair kit had temp sensors as well
  23. I know the crucial Ballistix elite have the sensor but all the kits are CL16
  24. Hi, Anyone know if the G.Skill V series has built in temp probes, or the Kingston Hyper X Savage. the spec sheets don't give a lot away. If not know of any kits that do have built in temp probes? Thanks
