  1. Thanks, I was not planning to, but steal good to know.
  2. Well if the only two people who replied say X amp is good then I must be, if I got 5 ideas from this then I would have to think about it a bit more.
  3. Thanks for your help, I just ordered it. PS I can't find any way to removed this quotes from here...
  4. I have Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, and my old AMP was the Astro mix amp, it came with my old Astro A40s when I steal used them. One thing I forgot to add in the fact that my sound card on my motherboard is broken and I need to get something to use, and if you think you say replace the motherboard, I will when the new intel i7s come out sometime soon.
  5. So my old gaming AMP is kicking the bucket and I need a new one for cheap. The thing is that I have no idea what I am looking at when I go throw amazon trying to fine one that is not 500 USD... So any ideas on good cheap AMPs that can connect to my computer by USB - and optical would be nice too - would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  6. the thing is idk what i fully want to do with it, yes its main job will be a data server, but i want to see what i can do with it but not be bottle necked by cpu speed
  7. with the SSD i might use it as a cash drive, and this freenas box will also be used for my dads work and may need to add in more drives later down the rode, side note i plan for them to be using this nas for many years, and for anything they may want it to be used for
  8. ok this is my parts list as it stands now Mushkin Enhanced Proline 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 UDIMM ECC DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Server Memory Model 997044 SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready 3x WD Red 4TB NAS Desktop Hard Disk Drive - Intellipower SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD40EFRX (they are a bit less then the Deskstar NAS drives) Fractal Design Define R5 FD-CA-DEF-R5-BK Black Computer Case ASRock C2750D4I Mini ITX Server Motherboard FCBGA1283 DDR3 1600/1333 Intel 535 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BW120H6R5 the finale price of this is 1087USD
  9. i'm trying to keep the it all under 800 or so, not counting the HHDs. for ECC memory, i have not been able to find anything that is not like 400USD for 4 Gbs of ram. yes this is meant to manly be a data server, but i might try doing some other stuff with it, do to the fact that this is my first time using FreeNAS and just building a server. with the CX power supply, i have not used any power supply's and i do not know what would be a good idea for one, now if any of you have any ideas for one i would like to know.
  10. So i have started planing to build a NAS for me and my family, and i wonder if any of you might have any thing of note to add to my parts list. Parts list as fallows: Fractal Design Define R5 FD-CA-DEF-R5-BK Black Computer Case ASRock C2750D4I Mini ITX Server Motherboard FCBGA1283 DDR3 1600/1333 CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified HyperX Savage 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model HX316C9SRK4/32Also add in some random Ethernet cables, some WD red HHDs, and a old 16Gb USB 2.0 drive Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have about 2 to 3 months before i build this to plan out were to put this in my family's small NYC apartment, so i'm not going to be building this all that soon. Thanks.
