JDB4LFE's Achievements

  1. Temps aren't the issue. Full load I never go above 80c. R9's are rated for 90c workload.
  2. Ran all tests for all of my hardware. Hard drives and ssd's are all fully functional. No errors or anything. Only thing that solved my issue was switching pci-express slots for my gpu. Possibly a failing slot or just sorry dirty?I'm not sure. It is an old motherboard. It never did it before I got my 290 though. Sadly my 2nd slot is only an x8. Doesn't seem to effect my performance though I do see stutters from time to time.
  3. would dust build up (humidity/dust cake from florida/mississippi) on my pci-express lanes cause my problems? moved my 290 to my 2nd pci-e slot (it's only pci-e 2.0 x8, but isn't effecting my performance any) and haven't crashed in a little over 3 hours now....that's a big accomplishment from the last few days.
  4. Wasn't the hard drive. 3 hours later it started again. Believe I got a faulty 290. Good thing I can return it.
  5. my temps and functionality aren't my issue. i've ran all sorts of benchmarks, utilities, undervolting/clocking, overvolting/clocking, nothing else stopped the crashes except unplugging the secondary hard drive (western digital blue 1tb...forgot to mention that) my computer won't stay on long enough for me to run any software according to checking the drive. as soon as i attempt anything according to this drive (whether it be instant or 30-60 seconds later) it locks my whole pc up. on another note, i reinstalled windows 7 because i thought that might be my issues because of drivers and whatnot. when i got everything up and running, the drive in question didn't show up in windows (had to reassign a drive letter) No clue if that has anything to do with this problem.
  6. Forgot to mention my issues didn't show up until I installed the 290.
  7. I just recently bought a used r9 290. I've done all of the troubleshooting I know to do for gpu's and chipsets. The card works great, my motherboard works as it has for the last two years, no ram issues. I started noticing that anytime my PC tried to access my secondary drive/I did anything with it, I would lock up. No bsod, just the robot noise from my speakers and no control. I've unplugged my secondary drive and haven't crashed since. I didn't think a secondary drive would cause this.... Any suggestions?
  8. i First Ran Across Linus's Videos while Shopping For Video Cards. i had Just Bought My radeon 5770 And Was Looking At 6950 vs. gtx 570/80 Videos Drooling Lmao.
  9. Hey guys, I know the whole deal about static is better than aiflow optimized for radiators...I simply had one question because I was curious and didn't necessarily find any answer on the forums. Would it be better to have 2.5k rpm 92cfm fans (airflow) or 1.6k 46cfm fans (static) on my CoolerMaster Seidon 120XL?
  10. Hey guys. I was looking through and couldn't find anything useful as according to my question. It seems like my front panel audio is louder and clearer than my onboard/rear output audio. I have the ASRock 990fx Extreme3 motherboard, Sentey Abbadom II case, and I am comparing them using my JVC HA-M55X headphones. Any ideas or thoughts?
  11. Hey guys, I was replacing the stock thermal paste that had came with my AIO (CoolerMaster Seidon 120XL) today. As I was cleaning the processor off, I noticed that there is a rubber gasket/seal that is poking out of the bottom of the "lid" of the processor....not completely sure what to make of it. My temps are fine and the processor still works as it should. Should I be worried about this? What might have caused this?
  12. So, on this same subject (different matter), i managed to pick up one of the live gamer hd's for $120 from newegg. On setting it up, I found a couple of hiccups with the single pc setup, but i've accomplished getting it working. only have a question dealing with the display. I have windows setup to duplicate displays (it is picking the live gamer up as a display) so as to record properly. does this make my gpu work 2x as hard? or is it just mirroring the image? 1920x1080 settings for the "duplicate monitor" as well as my main one.
  13. well my pc isn't exactly low-end, but i will take that into consideration. i've just been having the worst time with software.
  14. Hoping I'm not posting in the wrong thread for this (capture cards don't have a list lol). I was looking into either A) buying a capture card or B) building a cheap/efficient capture/stream pc. Like most everyone else nowadays, I just wanna put some gameplay on the Youtubes. I've had success before with using MSI Afterburner to record some BF3 footage. With that being said, that is just about the only game that I can use it to record with that doesn't go all derpy on me. I've tried fraps, obs, bandicam, etc. I'm not looking for a software level fix anymore...I want to be able to capture/stream without lag. So my initial question would be: If i get a capture card (something like the Avermedia Live Gamer HD or Portable), would I be able to capture my PC's output and store it on my hard drive? Or would I have to have that secondary PC? I don't wanna build that 2nd pc if i don't have to. I can if i need to though. Suggestions? Advice?
  15. Ok, so I've fumbled about for the last 30 minutes or so without finding what I want. My sister wants a new keyboard for her computer, but she has to be difficult lmao. She wants a black keyboard, but with purple or pink keys. It doesn't have to be LED backlit, but it would be a plus. Where/How would I go about attempting something like this without breaking the bank? Suggestions/Direction?
