i'm kinda conflicted about Edward. the manipulative leaking aside he bailed to Russia out of all nation to seek asylum, almost had that pattern off actual traitor like behavior. by definition & laws he broke doing that he is, But the leaks were properly censored to protect critical details when he gave it out to the media. but who knows if he had a raw copy of it as a currency, as to trade with someone deeper on the outside as a reserve.

But he did reveal critical unconstitutional spying methods that can be abused to use against the public, which pretty much a right thing to do.plus he exposed some of his coworkers dirt. not sure if it was worth it.

He won't get pardoned because he violated national security. Though those who respect what he did will consider him a hero and patriot. The fact is both parties look the other way when our intelligence community does something shady. Its just the nature of the beast.

Thats because they are fearful of another attack. September 11th changed the US at its core. It became more fearful. Especially sense the government was targeted in that attack. So they will stop at nothing to collect all the data they can both domestic and abroad so they can try to stop things from happening. At least that's how these politicians rationalize it.
