Activision increased their revenue by "too little" and decided it'd be better to get rid of 800 employees. 

 

Higher-ups couldn't take a hit on their own incomes, so they sacked 800 employees.

 

I don't know what kind of employees were fired, but nothing warrants tossing 800 people off their employments.

    Personally, I think Activision should dissolve itself and just let the companies it owns do their own thing. Blizzard is making good profits and still supporting all of its IP, but Activision drops their IP after a year.

    Honestly, I think they over-expanded. Couldn't maintain enough revenue to keep the people (or their own wages) on board, so they had to cut somewhere.

    I don't agree with where they cut, but it's not my choice.

    IMO, they need 3 programmers, 5 3d modelers, 2 script people, and 6 animators
