  1. The feelings when you become Thane of Whiterun

and you get an Elven battleaxe as your symbol of honor.

    1. Windows7ge

Back when I used to be really into Skyrim I'd grind for days (in game & real life) before even getting to Whiterun so when I'd show up I'd be OP AF. Then when they'd give me those rewards I'm just like "Get that shit out of my face!".

  3. Does anyone know what happened to Chris Cuomo?

Dude just leveled up his aggressiveness over the years. He was such a weakling during 2015/2016 and now he's tough often.

  5. Had a fascinating conversation with the local vets. Some of them think the DCM issue could be due to lack of exercise in dogs.

This sounds plausible as most of the taurine produced by the body is done by muscular contraction.

    Something we should look into.

  9. The issue that I see with controlling Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is that it's fundamentally... idiotic. If I want to buy a car with chickens and someone agrees, it's a done deal. If we want to trade a cow for a horse, we can.

If we want to trade, and agree that 1 BTC is [number], and retailers are willing to accept it, why should any government get to say that this is going to be regulated as if it's theirs?

I don't think inflation needs to be a thing unless the wage laws can keep up with it.

On the topic of crypto: I don't see why the government should involve itself in an alternate barter system. You just don't give them protection. It'd be those people's fault for joining the system, but leaves the rights of the system to those involved.

    3. CUDAcores89

@ARikozuM Many economists believe a low inflation rate of 1-2% is required to keep our current macroeconomics system healthy and running:

I may be a bumbling idiot but this idiot is minoring in economics in college. So far i've taken my micro and macroeconomics classes.

Let's just say most people really have no idea how monetary policy works. The central bank (of all countries capable of issuing their own currency, not just the US) can essentially change the money supply at will by adjusting the federal funds rate in an attempt to keep both employment high and inflation low simultaneously. Today the economy happens to be doing well because of the trump tax cuts (this is known as fiscal policy), so the federal reserve quickly raised interest rates in response. Then the stock market went down about 10% in 2018 and the fed is now in the process of cutting rates back again.

Fiscal policies is when central governments lower or raise taxes in repose to macroeconomic conditions. Monetary policy is when central banks raise of lower interest rates depending on macroeconomic conditions. Oftentimes both these tools work inverse of each other just as trumps fiscal policy encouraged the central bank to use it's monetary policies to increase interest rates. The wage laws you are speaking of deal with fiscal policies, and can vary wildly depending on the state you are in. which is why a $15 an hour minimum wage could be very damaging to places like Michigan where your buying power goes further, thus not as much money changes hands.

Whether you like it or not economics operates completely outside of anything political and tells things how they are with math. Like how minimum wage laws are bad for low skill workers or how sweatshop labor can actually be beneficial to extremely poor impoverished countries. It's also one of the only two departments at my college filled with conservatives and libertarians because of said objective view of economics.

I actually like the euro zones  monetary policies because nobody can decide on whether to print money or not, so nothing get's done (lol). This ends up being beneficial to the consumer since their currency inflates less.

    4. ARikozuM

Minimum wage laws need to go up as the majority of states have fallen behind inflation. Too many promises were made with that tax cut and our biggest employer went from GM, a high-paying union job (GM left to Mexico), to Wal-Mart, who pays so little the workers leech off of the safety net. Minimum wage is not inherently bad for the low-skill worker. It's a measure against a company taking advantage of its employees while taking a much larger cut for itself.

Germany found Wal-Mart's MO to go against German values. Trying to set its prices (and wages) too low would mean that Wal-Mart could cut out all of the competition by buying them out and offering nothing of value.

Our deficit is supposedly going to hit $17T in 10 years, and we let our best targets for tax reform slip out of our hand. Wages have not gone up as promised, people have not received the bonuses they were promised.

I would rather Trump had forced less importation of certain industries and more subsidies to smaller farmers, manufacturing, etc. We need to become a tangible production powerhouse as we were in the 50's to 70's.

I can see that as different enough. Some people will be buying only because the price is good.

    4. dizmo

Haha, I never understood buying stuff just for the sake of buying stuff.

Though, I do that in a way. Just, I'll go buy something that I know I can resell for a nice profit.

to be fair first search result in Google is to Antarctica.gov   hmmmm

  16. 1 hour, 28 minutes... 33%...

It's going faster than I thought it would. I'm guessing it's hitting the middle of the 1TB platter.

  17. 23 minutes... 8%...

Come back in a week, pal.

  18. Recovering a drive for a friend, it isn't mission critical, but I love that the program says a 1TB 5200RPM drive will "only take a few minutes".

    4 minutes later!

    7 minutes later!

I don't know what your idea of "few" is, but we're at extremes.

  19. Would you look at that!

Amazon didn't get their billions from NYC! And still moved in!

  20. You know what's bad?

Having Siri set up to your voice.

I don't mean on one iPad or Watch, but on 6 of them. I'm trying to tell my Watch to text someone and the store's two iPhones, two iPads, my phone and Watch all yelled "YES, WHAT CAN I HELP WITH!!!".

    I'm sorry! Calm down, Siri.

    1. DrMacintosh

It’s a problem when you have multiple devices in the same room not linked to the same AppleID. But if you have say, a MacBook Pro, an iPhone, a HomePod, and an Apple Watch and you call out “Yo Siri”, Siri is only going to use 1 of them. Usually HomePod if it’s in there.

    2. ARikozuM

They're linked to two IDs, my two and the store's four. But they all have that distinct beep before taking priority.

    3. CUDAcores89

You can help me by going away and never coming back siri

I think it’s a ¡Que Pena thing when you’re the richest country in the world and would rather spend so much on military and defense contractors aka welfare queens but wouldn’t want healthcare. Pobrecita!

United Arab Emirates charges 55% corporate tax but zero in income tax for their citizens and yet they have high quality, state funded healthcare to their citizens. South Korea is also an industrialized, capitalist country and charges 25% corporate tax. Let’s not forget that SK is a conservative country and yet their government guarantees healthcare for all. They’ve achieved this through heavy taxation of tobacco products (aka Sin Tax), 5% income contributions, and corporate taxes. Despite such taxation, South Koreans are one of the countries in Asia to have a highest credit score and a stable middle class.

    3. ARikozuM

Because the "taxes" have "never worked" in any modern country despite the prevalence of nearly third-world Venezuela in modern culture.

And I mean third-world as opposed to the first-world examples of UK, Britain, Scandinavia, Korea, China, and, get ready for a mind blowing revelation, Canada.

    4. Schnoz

I would for Bernie. If he's gonna become a streamer, then he needs some high-quality memes.

  23. Dear Google,

I thought at first you said "we should have a limit for rep" (on the forum) and i was like wtf for a second there

    3. ARikozuM

I'm thinking something like decades of service. 24 years for senators and 16 for representatives. This will get them to move up and leave the seat open for another person.

    4. CUDAcores89

@Schnoz The LTT form now has term limits. This means I will have to leave since I joined in 2015 lol.

  25. I like AntsCanada, but I had to unsubscribe. I've been receiving an video ad every 4 minutes on his videos whereas most other similar length videos only contain 3 banner ads for every half hour.

He over hypes and needlessly stretches his videos that they become a chore to watch, imo.

Yeah, I can't really watch videos with ads placed throughout the whole thing. That's why I use Wipr and uBlock Origin.
