Dont just put ... for your post

    Anyway

The Apex is WAY too expensive for a membrane keyboard, you could get a decent mechanical keyboard for the price, its a 5$ membrane keyboard with flashy lights

ShadowCaptain got a reaction from J.b091 in Why can't devs put maximum effort into visuals for games?
Well yes, of course its bad to what PC can do, but you have to admit, for a console that came out over 10 years ago it looks insanely good!

That means naughty dog put in maximum effort into visuals

Of course its opinion, but you presented it like a fact that no developers make good looking games, when im my opinon, plenty of modern AAA games look amazing, including some amazing indie games with impressive art styles

Since consoles are lead platforms, and since the average PC has a shit graphics card, there is no point making games like Metro Last light, when only 10% fo people can play it on max settings

When a game like Fallout 4 has great gameplay, functional graphics, and everyone can enjoy it even on a mediocre PC - it makes more sense

until the hardware catches up, and while consoles are still holding us back - its hard for a dev to put effort into visual when nobody will see them

Mad Max looks amazing, i love going into the photo mode and panning around and making amazing screenshots

TLOU + Uncharted has insane graphics - Uncharted 4 so far looks insanely good (considering its a shitty PS4)

Frostbite engine is impressive, and runs great

The arkahm games are amazingly well optimized (except for knight) and look really good!

Yeah, though I do like some eye candy especially when gaming (as long as I can get a nice 60fps which I normally can on my rig)

I just hate having clutter, I barely use more than like steam, comms and  premier, so I dont need icons everywhere cluttering up, and all my files are on my server

Honestly the only windows UI element I ever see, is the taskbar, I don't even have any Icons or anything on my desktop, just a nice wallpaper

    yes

its nearly twice as many pixels, and also, it means you can get a sharp image on screens above 24" which is the max for 1080p monitors (in my opinion)

ShadowCaptain got a reaction from Megah3rtz in Cheap pellet/bb sniper rifles
bbs guns are not particularly damaging, considering as a sport people shoot each other with them

brandishing them in public is illegal, and shooting somebody not in a game is assault and if armed police came would probably shoot you

Also, you would harm genuine airsofters being reckless

IF you want to shoot people with bbs guns,  join an airsoft site and do it safely

Oh yeah, they always agreed, I would have to keep a completely straight face... while everyone who heard the conversation were behind giggling

Or the customer would talk bollocks and make something up to sound clever, I would agree with them and they would be like "oh wow I got it right" and then I would just be like "no I was just jokingly agreeing with you"

    exactly!!

It genuinely helped make them listen to my advice though when they know for sure that I know more than them

however you would get customers that were like "this computer only has 8gb of ram, my last one had 500gb of ram" ... and I would have to spend about 48 year explaining the difference between memory and storage.. and then they would go to the manager and complain "excuse me this colleague was lying about this computer" ... my manager would be like "tell me what happened".. then he would laugh at them and tell them to either listen to me, or fuck off out the shop

    Steam Link
First up is the steam link, this tiny apple TV-esque box sits under your TV and lets you stream any steam game on your PC directly to your TV and use any controller/K&M etc. Set up is as simple as booting up, selecting a language and connecting to your wifi/wired network. Make sure your gaming PC is turned on, and the link will automatically detect your PC and prompt you to enter a pin on your desktop - thats it , set up complete

The Link will boot into big picture mode, from here, its works exactly the same as steam big picture mode on your PC, but you are basically doing it remotely, there is no real discernible lag assuming your connection is fast enough, and at 1080p streamed to your TV it looks almost as good as being natively played too!

Honestly, this is a must have for any PC gamer who wants a cheap low cost, easy solution to living room gaming, only downside is its limited to 1080p, needs a decent network and the image isnt quite as sharp as a game played natively

    A must have IMO

    Steam Controller
This is less of a must have, but it entirely depends on your preferences, and what kinds of games you play. Set up in steam is as simple as connecting the dongle and it basically installs itself. It works great for typing on the steam link too.

The layout is strange, with some familiar features, L1/2 and R1/2 shoulder buttons, XAYB Face buttons, an analogue stick, start/select, home, but from here it differs drastically from a typical game pad, as the right analoge stick and DPAD are replaced with touch sensitive pads complete with insane haptic feedback. It also has L3/R3 buttons when you squeeze the pads under the grips! You can customise everything too

Personally, i find aiming in FPS/TPS and similar games difficult with the pad, and just not as enjoyable as a typical Xbox/Playstation style pad, however it comes into its own for playing games like Civ on a TV!

Honestly the steam controller is interesting. Its well built and works well, but for me personally, it will not replace a traditional game pad for all my gaming needs, especially FPS/TPS shooter style games

    haha YUP
Yeah I agree! Its great to have alternative options and it works great for certain things that would be impossible on a regular controller
Sure, you can try, but since I still use regular controllers for PS4, Xbox, and various games, I will never really have time to make the steam controller my "go to"

Ive tried plenty of configs, I just dont think I could ever like playing first or third person games with it as much as my 360 pad, for a start, the XAYB buttons are way harder to use than a regular controller, like I can press A+X when using the right stick, not possible on the steam controller, and I just dont find the touchpad to have the same "feeling" in 3rd/first person games

But I do like it for some stuff

In my new job, its actually the worst

Small example, a guy comes in yesterday, he had just bought a go pro hero 5, and was like "can you edit video here"? I am like....no we just do photo printing... you have to edit your video on your PC, tablet,.....he pulls out a £10 samsung "dumb phone" and was like " I dont own a PC"

I have no idea what he intends to do with the footage since he cannot view, edit, burn to disc, or upload anything
