I'm sitting at work, well I say work...
Funny story, once at school me and my friends all had Asus EEE machines? (remember the origional 4gb 7" ones?) and we had halo 1 CE installed and were playing a multiplayer game. The head teacher came in, saw us playing when we were meant to be in class and just casually went "I love playing medal of honour" then walked off

Probably the best moment of my lfie

You literally drag the video from your folder on your computer onto the timeline

premiere is pretty easy tbh at least as far as simple tasks go, then you can go to "effects" at the bottom, drop on a 3 way colour correction, set your white balance point, and adjust the exposure and colour grade in the effects panel

I was just speaking in generalities. water and electronics are never a smart idea.

Soapy water could damage the rubber in a dome switch, or it could rust contacts, drying it might make condensation that causes a short when you plug it in..blah blah its a rather drastic measure if you ask me

I feel your pain my freind - 7 years in a local computer retail store (biggest in the UK)

I always hated the "oh my xxxx is an IT specialist", "oh my son learns IT at school, I am sure he can recover data from my failed hard drive"

I remember a guy once telling me he was the "IT Manager" for some large company... and then proceeded to go "What is this AMD thing I am a little out of touch", And then proceed to say he had never heard of "HP"
Who the fuck hasn't heard of Hewlett Packard, even little old ladies know that brand
Obviously he needed very little help, didn't buy any software or support, and I literally had him come into store about 10 times in the next month, so we started having to charge him counter tuition because he was taking up SO much time asking stupid questions

Working on the returns desk was THE WORST.  - this guy came in with a macbook that was literally BENT into a C shape longways, everything was smashed, all the ports were scratched and bent and dented and it was scuffed to crap, then

    he said

"I dropped it down the stairs, but I have warranty, so I "demand" a replacement".... He could not quite comprehend that this wasn't covered under warranty and he said "why wasn't I offered insurance then" - We know thats bullshit because we were targeted on selling insurance packages, and even if he DID have insurance, there was no way that thing "fell down the stairs"

He refused to leave to store so the manager called the police and they forced him to leave

I find my parents are like that too. They will be on the computer for a few weeks then suddenly come in the room and  say something like
"I cant find the page I was looking at"  when they have simply opened a new tab
or "how do I log into my emails?" when they were literally reading their emails the day before

They seem too scared to do what they know/think is logical and get flustered if the answer isnt immediately obvious

As far as software goes they are afraid of clicking things or they might break it, yet my mum happily leaves the laptop ON and charging under a wool blanket for about 4 hours - I dont know how it didn't overheat

28% more expensive for no reason   I once had a customer tell his friend that gaming mice gave him better frames per seconds in games....Resisting laughing I had to tell him the truth that he was wrong

customer: "hey im looking for a decent laptop for myself"
me: "well, we certainly sell laptops, what do you plan on using it for"
customer: "well just normal stuff you know"
me "...what do you consider normal"
customer: "you know just regular computer stuff"

me..... "thats helpful......why not have a look around"  - runs away and dies in a corner

    or this

customer: "well i was looking for a computer with at least 8gb of ram, and a 2tb hard drive, ooh this one has 16gb"
me : "but it has a celeron, it will be slow and terrible"
customer: "but it has so much ram, ill take this one please, I also dont need any software, I dont need office or antivirus or anything, my *insert person here* works in the IT business"

    - next day - oh hey, this computer is slow, also you never told me it didnt come with office and it has a virus because you didnt install an antivirus

me. FUCK OFF *never actually said that, just screamed it in my head*

lady "Oh i work in IT i get all my software free"

Me : thats great what do you do?

lady : "I'm a sports teacher at school"..........

Honestly I kind of prefer the simpler videos, I dont want to watch 3 hours of him explaining how a cooler works or going through every cable on a power supply

I just want him to go "hey look heres a cool product, it works great"

There are channels that spend an hour digging into menus if you want that, I like the Linus and team can deliver concise and to the point videos about a product, yes sometimes they could do MORE information, perhaps they do too many videos, but honestly the videos are long enough as is

I will admit, I watch it more for entertainment and to see cool stuff, more than I watch for actual information
