  1. My favorite thing in the review is when you pointed out the multi-item clipboard. It helps a lot in a work environment
  2. Damn. that machine is down right elegant. I dont think even a Mac Pro can touch it. >:] Kudos to the sponsors. facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lyan.villacorta/posts/10151660205363919 twitter: https://twitter.com/lyanbv/status/341371142587695104
  3. Apx 3am today, my Asrock Z77E6 BURNED and died. the chips and what not at the right most area of the top VRM assembly. :'( I dont know why. passed all tests, no crash. all solid and low temps. im taking it to microcenter on tomorrow or friday. it was clocked at 4.4Ghz with offset of -0.025 LLC lvl 4. a midst this, Id say still, its Rock solid. (Im still devastated. its 4:33am atm) i would say Asrock is a good value brand. my temps never went beyond 75C. i just dont know why the vrm (or at least something under the vrm heat sink) went to flames. :/ prolly just a bad day. if anyone is connected with asrock, pls help me. i ask mercy. cant even sleep. im out.
  4. Hello LTT Community! I just got my New SSD and im hesitating to reinstall windows 7. or it may be just my laziness today. Can anyone of you suggest a free migration software? i have the SSD in the case and the case is all sealed up now with fresh cblmgt. I happen to lack free time until next week so if anyone is knowledgeable in this, it would be totally totally appreciated. TIA!
  5. Achieving a 1:1 magnification ratio is the tricky part here. You dont actually need a full fledged macro lens to achieve it. Consider extension tubes for this purpose. Doing macro photography implies many things. you need to have a rock solid base for the camera which means you need a tripod. shooting at 1:1 needs maximum shutter speed (sync speed w/ flash is 250) and a very high f-stop which all means that you need some form of lighting, be it continuous or flash. Here are my suggestions. US $546.95 - Nikon D3200 (24MP, with kit lens) US $269.00 - Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 US $009.45 - Extension tubes (2 sets will be all you need) US $033.99 - Macro Led Ring Light US $044.99 - Manual Flash (by Yungnuo) US $031.69 - Wireless Flash Trigger (by Yungnuo) US $019.95 - Gorillapod (rated at 6.6lbs) US $965.47 - Basic getto macro kit that doubles as an outstanding portrait kit ;) one thing not included in this list is the SD cards. you probably have one already. if you dont, they are less than USD 20, get nothing lower than class 10 ;)
  6. Hello Everyone! Allow me to start this thread with the objective of gathering basic real world performance data. We simply have to put our hardware and how it is configured (i.e. Overclock, Raid, etc), the titles we play and configuration, and finally the performance. Let me go first. Hardware & Configuration Mobo: Asrock Z77 Extreme 6 CPU: Core i7 3770k @ 4.4Ghz, -0.025v offset, lvl 4 LLC GPU: iGPU HD 4000 @ 1500Mhz, +0.100 offset, lvl 2 LLC Ram: Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1866Mhz HDD: WD Black 1TB PSU: Corsair CX 600 Cooling: CM Hyper 212 Evo, (target 45C, lvl 4 fan) Games 1. Dota 2 @ 1920x1080 FPS: ave 65s, max 85s Temps: ave 41C, max < 55C in-game screen shot: http://postimg.org/image/4vkkrz0e5/ 2. 3. and so on.. This may be a bit time consuming to do but if we can give a few minutes of our time, I believe community members, Noobie, Professional, or Jurassic, will benefit from the effort. Pls resize images to 720 long edge for uniformity :) Thank you!

Add. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198047075626/ I play dota 2. mainly on USW servers tho since im in California. EUW shouldnt be much of a problem. Quick suggestion. Make a LinusTechTips room for some LTT in-house games! :D (or let me do it right now)
  8. I share the same concern but the way i view it, why not air cooler manufacturers just design the coolers with the ram modules in mind? its not a secret that the ram slots are beside the cpu socket. or is it? They may skew the design to be biased away from the ram and towards the back of the case. although this may present less-flexibility but who really needs it? they can make it to look good in the way its desired to be mounted. Would you put the corsair link/block upside down or sideways because it fits? I dont think many will do. At any rate, I want to share a paragraph from a book im reading, Start With Why by Simon Sinek.
