  1. ok good. Tell us how that goes, if it doesn't work then I would point at (maybe) a memory leak. The recent cod titles have been infamous as far as that's concerned.
  2. I have 2 290's with reference coolers that I run at 55% haha. It's not as bad as people say, but it can be a nuisance at times.
  3. This is going to kill your ears but raise your fans to 80 in afterburner and see if it still causes the issue. Games like smite which aren't very graphically intensive won't cause your gpu to get super hot, where as a title like aw will. So try that for us please
  4. Also, make sure to follow your topics so you get notifications
  5. What gpu do you have, what's your memory at, and how much memory do you have? Sounds like either overheating or a memory leak.
  6. That picture is quite blurry, hate to ask, but could we get another one?
  7. You gave us hardly any information, you said that you had attempted transferring twice, which allowed us to assume that you still had access to it. If you don't have access to then it's a whole different issue, but we had to go off of what you gave us, and unless we know the whole dilemma we can't fully help.
  8. I've still seen plenty of good active users that do try and help, and I'm trying to get into it myself since I have been helped quite a bit by people on this forum, but when people turn around and spew anger at you when you're trying to help it's just really upsetting.
  9. We do know the answer, and that's why we're trying to help you. You're taking this way out of hand though and putting the blame on others. All you can really do is check to see if files are corrupt, but above that there's not much any of us can do. Please stop being rude, and accept the help or don't ask for it at all if you're just going to be an ass to someone offering you a helping hand.
  10. Stop using linustechtips if you're just going to be an ass. We don't care how you do it, but the only thing you can really do is check and see if any files are corrupted.
  11. He's trying to help, please don't be rude when someone on the forum is actually trying to help you. He's saying you should('ve) checked all of the files to see if they were corrupt before you actually copied them.
  12. I tried it with a different profile, and it appeared to have improved some performance, but not much. I ran with the same clock speed and everything too.
  13. I don't know what it could be, but it only does this in gearbox games. It plays metro, crysis, bf, farcry, bioshock inf, etc. all at max settings without even coughing. Yet for some reason it just doesn't work well with gearbox games.
  14. did that a looooooong time ago when I first got the cards. :l Edit: Long being a month.
  15. I think you misread.... The issue isn't crossfire or it being "off".... It is on, and I do have a custom profile...... I'm just getting really bad performance with gearbox games. Edit: You didn't misread, I just didn't state the obvious, but yes lol. Crossfire is enabled, and I have custom profiles for almost all of my games.
  16. Thank you man, I'm a huge bl buff and it pains me to not be able to have constant 144hz bliss.
  17. that's funny, I literally read that on some forum like an hour ago. I was desperate so I tried it, but to no avail.
  18. It's fine man, it's just a pain that gearbox games don't want to run well. I forgot to mention that w/ one card the usage doesn't spike like it does in crossfire, but it never stays constant, and never reaches 100%, but the performance with crossfire on and off is pretty much the same.
  19. So I've been troubleshooting like all hell and I can't seem to get borderlands 2 or the pre sequel to run well at all. I don't know what the issue is, but these games just don't want to run well on my setup. I play with an average of about 80fps @ 1080p outside of combat, and 30-40 in combat. Pretty much the same performance with one card. Setup: i7 3770k @ stock 2x reference MSi r9 290's ASUS Sabertooth z77 EVGA Supernova G2 1000w 8 Gigs of ram Things you should know: -ALL drivers are up to date along with my mobo's BIOS -It is NOT a hardware issue, I have great performance in every other game. -PhysX is set to low (off) -If you're wondering why I'm running xfire'd 290's @ 1080p, the answer is a 144hz monitor. -I've verified cache -It is a legal copy -Gpu loads bounce all over the place for no reason even in low fps, e.g. gpu1 will pop up to 80+ usage, gpu2 will drop to 0. gpu1 will drop to 0, gpu2 will pop up to 80+ -My cpu usage never goes above 60%, and because it performs well in other games I can confidently say it's NOT a bottleneck.
  20. To the last of us! Hopefully it doesn't turn out like Windows 8
  21. It shouldn't hinder performance at all, and if it does it will only be a few frames (unnoticeable & unlikely) Compatibility mode just makes the .dll's and other files that the game requires to run mimic an older copy of windows so that the .exe can work properly as it was intended.
  22. Squid nailed it head on. Couldn't have said it any better. *Cough cough Fallout 3 Cough cough*
