  1. Do you have another GPU to try? If your GPU died your cpu/mobo/ram should still post, should still boot into windows and your audio should still work (unless it's carried by the HDMI cable from your card).
  2. What is your mobo? IMHO disassemble the computer. Start with the very basics. Outside of the case on a cardboard box place the mobo (mobo box works great) Re seat CPU. With the mobo, single stick of ram, GPU (and the CPU of course) see if it'll post then? If it does not, try the placing your single stick of ram in the next slot. Keep trying all the slots. IF it still doesn't post, repeat the with other stick of ram. It is unlikely both sticks of ram would be bad. If it still does not POST I would begin to swap each part one by one with other parts I have on hand.
  3. I would think that could be a reasonable possibility. Are you able to monitor the Voltage levels on the 12v, 5v and 3.3v? Recently my wife's computer had instability issues and I noticed that all three of those volts were under spec. 12v was actually <12v, 5v was 4.8v-ish and 3.3v was under 3v!! FYI I checked these in the UEFI. The other thing I would do is check your system files for corruption: run command prompt with admin privileges > type " sfc /scannow " > if it finds corrupted files then type " dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth "
  4. Everything running at stock speeds? When did this start to happen? I presume this issue only started recently? What is your CPU temp when it crashes? Have you checked to make sure your ram passes stability tests? Have you tried pulling one stick of RAM and seeing if that helps? Do you have a different GPU to try?
  5. I just bought a 7900 XTX and yes my idle power consumption is high (~100 Watts). This morning I installed the latest drivers 23.7.1 and the issue remains. How many other users suffer from this? For how many users did the new drivers fix the issue? What is your display config? My display config: 2 30" 4k monitors using Display Port + 65" 4k TV using HMDI. *disabling the 4k tv seems to cut idle power in half*
  6. It does seem like they are new SSDs... hmmm
  7. Do you think those are used in re sealed bags?
  8. Cool! I will check those out. However what do you mean by "...trying my luck"? because China? EDIT: NVM, I see what you likely mean. USED + China = What would I end up with
  9. I would consider two MX500 4TB in RAID 0 but I am not super fond of RAID. The scars remain... It seems you and I are in compete agreement. NEVER should an SSD be slower than a HDD... ever.
  10. Completely agree, thanks for the info. The more I read the more learn that the QVO will not be for me. I Loathe and Despise SSDs that write slowly once their small cache fills!
  11. Storage, OS is on an 850x NVMe drive. I thought that the cache was larger than 1-2GB. However I am still not impressed <200MB/s after the cache... EDIT: AFAIK the cache dynamically changes depending on free space. (https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/samsung-870-qvo-sata-ssd)
  12. I am tempted to buy https://www.newegg.ca/samsung-8tb-870-qvo-series/p/N82E16820147784?Item=N82E16820147784 I don't know if the timing is bad. Is there something right around the corner that you all may know about that I don't? I would prefer an NVMe version but their cost per TB sucks compared to this.
