Hello all,
My current set-up:
Windows 8 - 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570 ivy bridge
HDD: 125GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (boot-up installed here) and 1TB HDD
Motherboard: GA-Z77-D3H
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
PSU: Coolermaster VS-Series 550W Semi Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply
CASE: NZXT Phantom 410
I installed a new PSU and GPU into my rig today. Everything went smooth (as far as I'm concerned) and everything that needed to be plugged in was plugged in (again, as far as I know). Once I excitedly booted up the computer, the motherboard screen popped up as usually. Usually this disappears within a second or two and the computer boots up in no time (roughly 10 seconds?). However, the MB screen stays on-screen for around 2-3 mins now, then boots up windows as usual (no delay on the windows 8 logo and load screen). On first boot-up, I thought it might be due to the lack of drivers of the new GPU. However this same problem occurs every time I turn the computer on now (even after updating GPU drivers). I've launched some games and the GPU seems to be working fine. Any ideas what the problem could be?
A few problems I ran into when putting in the hardware:
The new SATA power cable that I put into the SSD wasn't going in properly at first (however, if something had gone wrong here, surely the drive wouldn't boot-up windows at all?)
When removing the old CPU power cable, I did bang my hand on the MB slightly, nothing major.
Would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help! Thanks
