Linus' Economic Synthetic Revolution Topic.
that_one_kid replied to Sigmatech's topic in General Discussion
I've always sorta feared a world where everything was automated. I mean if everything is automated, what would us humans do? Yeah it takes away jobs, but more importantly is takes away careers, peoples life styles. I say life styles since peoples lives generally encompass their careers. What would life become if there was nothing left to do? I think we should only automate things no one wants to do, and there is almost always someone somewhere who wants to (fill in the blank)... -
I have been hearing great things about these on Reddit. I would give them a try! They have the bandwidth and power for mining, so they have no faults really.

Does a cheap air blower for computers exist?

The only fucking useful comment in this thread...like fuck...HEY OP, LOOK AT THIS ONE^ Edit: Also since you guys don't seem to get how static electricity works, NO YOU CAN NOT USE A VACUUM UNLESS IT HAS A BLOW FUNCTION LIKE A SHOP VAC. The motor spinning inside creates static electricity and could possibly ruin your components. Also Linus has a great video on this topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfcYPyxXVCo -
Yup it was here in 2 days from shipped to delivery....FUCKING RIDICULOUS...So the monitor is great, literally no backlight bleed (well extremely minimal, which can be fixed easily), one stuck pixel(green I think...it comes and goes) and no dead pixels . The bloody thing has less backlight bleed than my professional series Asus IPS monitor...FFS...Color accuracy on the other hand is not on par with my PB238Q, just like every monitor...otherwise it's great! WARNING! YOU NEED A POWER ADAPTER! You know the cable that goes from the power supply to the wall socket? Yeah that one. You should be getting a 250V 10A Korean cable, so you just take one from another old monitor or something.
-
You listed the QX2710, yet you said only IPS...when it uses a PLS display (basically the same)...I have an X-Star DP2710 coming in the mail today, set me back $300 and shipping took about 2 days total time...from Korea to the east coast...

Note 3’s benchmarking “adjustments” inflate scores by up to 20%
that_one_kid replied to that_one_kid's topic in Tech News
Well, Samsung is not limiting the hardware, they are only boosting it in specific apps. If these SoC's show that they can handle the speed increase for long periods of time, tweakers will be able to do so much with this... -

Oh god, I'm so sorry. I'm an idiot and didn't even check that... -

Didn't see that, sorry. Also they posted The Verge's article, and the writer really had no clue what he was talking about... Their title even further accentuates that, leading other people to continue with this idea of "Samsung is cheating" when they aren't in anyway. -
Samsung again caught rigging benchmark scores on Galaxy Note 3
that_one_kid replied to Gunzkewl's topic in Tech News
Copied from my post about this This does not boost benchmark scores to otherwise unattainable level; It simply eliminates benchmark score variance. Also how does this explain the fact that the G2 performs considerably worse than the Note 3 without optimizations? I'm gonna quote what someone said on a Reddit post which I think everyone on this forum can understand "When you benchmark something you are looking to see what its maximum performance is. You want to see just what this thing can do. Its no different than disabling speedstep or Cool & Quiet for a benchmark on your PC. Is it real world? Nope, but its still shows what your hardware can do with the power consumption features disabled and running balls to the wall. You know, the kind of scenario someone into benchmarking wants. If Intel or Nvidia do something like this its called optimization for that application. If anyone else does it, it's called cheating. I don't understand peoples logic anymore." So what's everyone's opinion on this? I think it's a great thing, because it shows the true potential of the S800 SoC. -

How the hell do people let their phone get stolen...I just don't get it...I know where my phone is at all times, if you're completely careless with your phone then have it stolen, it's your fault. Also why would someone go through all this trouble to unlock the phone?
