  1. Holy... Thanks for the link, will look into it.
  2. Thats something quite out of reach for my budget.
  3. Thats coming in about a month, right? Hmm, I will take that into consideration. Thank you.
  4. Not looking into Apple for now. Any Android substitute? Thank you, will look into it.
  5. OK... I have had a Nokia Lumia 720 for the past 3+ years or so, and now with the recent death stroke from Microsoft on Windows Phone, I have finally decided to get something this year. I haven't been looking into the smart phone market since I bought the Lumia 720, just heard some buzzes here and there, but that's it. Now I am researching into Android, with about 3 to 4 years of tech to look into, and would definitely appreciate some help and recommendations. I am from India, so the prices will vary depending on where you are, but I will try my best to list my budget appropriately. What I want from my new Phone: Software Updates for 2 to 3 years Camera with decent Slow-Motion capture Wireless Charging Explanation: Regarding the software updates, I am going to be starting a YouTube channel, so its paramount for me to have the apps related to them up-to-date including YouTube and YT Studio. I know that after some years, software updates don't come along, but I don't know the precise details about this. So I am quite confused with this part. I also found out about Stock Android, Android One and Android Go. And it seems that Stock Android is the one with perpetual updates for life, while One has a similar concept but for mid to low budget phones, and Go is basically for OEM versions. I maybe wrong here. Then there's the OxygenOS for OnePlus, an OEM but not sure how long the updates are supported on them. Camera, basically I am going heavily into Animation/Digital Art, so looking for a camera with decent slow-motion capture. Megapixels is my least of the worry, so I can compromise on that. But colors are important, I will be capturing pics to use for references, so I am expecting something good here. Priority wise Colors>Slow Motion There are too many cables around my desktop, so hoping to minimize on that aspect. Lowest priority though, I can consider something that doesn't have wireless charging as well. Regarding the display, I mostly consume media on my PC so not looking for anything fancy here, but it seems most of the displays produced in recent times are good. Budget: Currently, I am looking at a budget of $300 (Rs. 21,000). But I am willing to increase it if there aren't any phones available who meet my conditions at that price point. Most likely, I am asking for too much. From all that, should I consider waiting on this year for new releases? Or are there any recommendations? I am kinda inclining towards phones featuring Android One. I am also looking for some guidance in that aspect mostly. If you want any further clarifications, I would be happy to answer them.
  6. Never mind. I just had to remove the GPU and plug it back in. Its working now.
  7. Hello guys, I need help with a bit of troubleshooting for this little phenomenon called "DVI No SIGNAL". There is a bit of a backstory to it, here goes: Around April, this year, I had made a thread concerning my GTX 550 Ti, whether it was actually dead or was there some other problem. Most of the replies suggested to check the GPU in another machine. I couldn't at the time test it as my friends PSU didn't have the particular PCI express power cable as he was using a GPU(AMD 6670) that didn't require any extra power. Anyways, I concluded that my GPU is dead and continued to use the onboard graphics of my motherboard. I didn't face any kind of display issues until a week ago, just before Christmas. The motherboard would now turn on the display, but the display wouldn't show the motherboard logo its supposed to show when we my PC would post. I went to computer repair shop as I wanted to check many things at once, and after some testing we found that one my RAM sticks and the motherboard weren't working, as using the other working components only on a different motherboard would start the PC without any issues. Then I brought back the new motherboard and set it up and it started working. This time around every other components were the same except the discarded RAM stick. This time, for curing my curiosity, I tried to connect my GPU, the one I thought had died, on this machine with the new motherboard. Alas! It worked. I was able to use the GPU to not only turn on the display, but also play games without any performance drops. Until today. SIGH. I got the "DVI No SIGNAL" error again this morning. And as I quickly switched to using the VGA port of my new motherboard, my PC booted up without any issues. I'm now planning to properly check my GPU on another machine. But before that- -the question is, has my GPU finally ascended into heaven? Specs w/ GPU: FX 8350, Asus GTX 550 Ti, Seagate 1TB HDD, 8GB (4x2) Gskill Ripijaws, MSI 760GM P21 FX Specs before Christmas: FX 8350, Seagate 1TB HDD, 8GB (4x2) Gskill Ripijaws, MSI 760GM P21 FX Specs after Christmas: FX 8350, Seagate 1TB HDD, 4GB (4x1) Gskill Ripijaws, Gigabyte GA 78LMT S2
  8. According to GPU-Z, memory size is 256MB. The system requirements are listed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/902424 And as per steam page, it says "Graphics: ATI Radeon™ series 7000 or better/Nvidia® Geforce series/Intel Extreme Graphics 82845, 82865, 82915 "
  9. I tried to check using hmonitor to see if any temps are causing an issue, but they are steady. Stays between 45 to 50 degrees. So no sure what might be causing the skips. I even tried to reinstall the game and it still has the same issues. I guess I maybe stuck with it for now. Thanks anyways.
  10. Don't think the chipset has any issue, as dota 2 works perfectly fine. Tested over 100 hours on this chipset. So I'm clueless at the moment. As there isn't even any particular thread about a game either that I have found yet, so I might be the only one suffering from it. Apart from that, what do you think about me getting a cheap-o gpu for the time being until I properly save up for the high end one?
  11. Hello, recently my dedicated GPU died a honourable battle, but since then I have been using my onboard graphics(ati radeon 3000 hd) until I save up the cash to buy a new one, which will take me a while. OK so, I am playing some games that are being able to support from the onboard gpu, mostly Dota 2, which works well at 720p on lowest settings, so there are no problems there. The problem is with another game called Dungeon Siege 2. The frames of this game skips a lot, and I mean a lot. The screen just freezes for a second at most and skips to the next frame in consideration. I have no idea on how to solve this problem. I tried to work on the lowest settings, and at the lowest resolution as well(800x640), but it will still skip frames. The funny thing is that if my character stands still and there isn't much movement, there are no skips at all. It gives a steady 30 fps even at 1080p. But when I start walking or move the camera angle, or get into a fight, the skipping begins as usual. Anyone have any idea on what I can do to solve this problem? And its only this game that shows any problems, some of the other games don't show frame skipping, but may drop fps if I increase the graphic quality. My rig currently has a fx 8350, Msi 720gm p21 fx, 8gb ram and currently using the onboard graphics ATI radeon 3000. Also, I'm having uncertainties, regarding entry level GPUs, would there be any significant different in the gameplay? Because until I can get a new card, I was thinking of getting a cheap one for the time being like the Geforce GT 210 or something similar along the lines. Its available quite cheap. I tried to look for any used graphic card in my city, but most of them are out of my budget.
  12. Yes, I'm planning the same, hope my friend is ready to open his computer. My motherboard doesn't have another 16x Pcie slot, so no way to do that. I tried using another pcie power cable, fortunately my PSU has 2, but it still didn't post, nor did the fans spin. I tried dissembling the GPU and clean it up and also made sure the fan header on the gpu is properly connected, but still no posts. I'm planning to put the GPU in my friends PC, hoping to see if it works.
  13. Hello LTT forums, In October, I had made a post about my PC not posting quite often and that I had to sometimes replug either the HDD sata cable, the power connection for the GPU or the RAM sticks. And from what I read it seemed that my motherboard might have been faulty. These hiccups stopped after sometime, but had resurfaced again by the end of last month. In my previous troubleshooting, I don't remember noticing that the GPU fan was moving or not, while the other fans were moving. But this time I found that the GPUs fan would move or hardly move or jitter a bit. It seemed that I found the actual problem. When my PC started again, I installed MSI afterburner, to try to manually control the GPU fan speed, and it worked, for 3 days at the most and then it has stopped ever since. My PC wouldn't post again. This time, I tried to connect to my monitor through a vga cable from my motherboard rather than the GPU. I made sure the unplug the pci express power cables for the GPU, and boom, my PC started without hiccups. And now I am writing this post in order to verify whether my GPU has actually died or not? Or are there any other troubleshooting steps that I need to take before declaring the demise of my GPU? My specs are, FX 8350, Asus GTX 550 Ti, Seagate 1TB HDD, 8GB (4x2) Gskill Ripijaws, MSI 760GM P21 FX. Age 5 years old past February 2016
  14. I have recently started to get interest in 2d animation, and was hoping to find a specific forum for 2d animations, similar to cgsociety or creativecow. I did google up some forums, but didnt find anything good, except for deviantart. So if anyone is a part of something like it, please let me know.
