  1. Are Z97 mobos expensive too in Singapore? If not i might buy one there since singapore isn't that far from Indonesia
  2. So they're only expensive here? How much is a Z97 board normally sold for?
  3. I have an i5 4690k with a low end asrock H81M-HDS mobo and looking for a cheap no-frills Z97 mobo but it seems like "Z97" and "cheap" don't belong in the same sentence... The cheapest Z97 mobo i could find is from some unheard of Chinese brand (colorful, ecs) and it's not even that cheap either ($150) Z97 mobos from big-name oems like asus msi gigabyte u name it are upwards of $200. Why is this? I used to be able to overclock my 4690k on this crappy h81 mobo but ever since i updated to Windows 10 the non-z oc option disappeared from the bios idk what happened to it i think Microsoft and Intel intentionally did that to force users into buying Z97 boards but with Z97 mobo prices being this expensive it's very selfish of them
  4. I'm currently using a 970 which is borrowed from my friend's and i can confirm that in gta V it can't get solid 60 fps with everything turned up to ultra (2x msaa) it dips to 30-45 fps in the countryside, i have to turn the grass quality and shader quality down to normal to get a solid framerate, the vram usage is barely touching 3.5gb
  5. But can my psu handle the power hungry Hawaii chip?!
  6. Ok thanks for the input guys i think I'll go with the 390 screw the 970 and the 3.5gb crap
  7. Hello guys, I'm currently looking for a graphics card and my budget is around $300, both the gtx 970 and the R9 390 are priced around the same so I'm really confused which i should go with, I've had bad experience with my reference R9 290 (blew up 5 psu, black screen popping up) but the 390 is so alluring due to the 8gb of vram On the other hand the gtx 970 has merely 3.5gb of vram so there really is no reason to go with the 970 over the 390 is there? I looked up the benchmarks and both cards seem to trade blows with each other some games run better on the 970 and some run better on the 390 I play at 1080p, might get a 2k monitor in the future if the money allows but not a priority for now, 4k is out of my league so i couldn't care less about 4k performance The games i play are mainly AAA-FPS My pc specs I5 4690k No graphics card for now (sold my faulty 290) 8gb ram Seasonic x660 Samsung 850 evo 250gb Wd blue 1tb Raijintek triton 240 ASRock H81M
  8. I don't wanna lose my games and files on the hdd.. About the ssd what's the point of wiping it
  9. I just bought a Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd and i did a clean install of Windows 10 on it (my hdd already has windows 10 installed as well but i don't wanna clone it as there's so much junk in it) However there seems to be a conflict between the two, if i boot from the hard drive, the ssd would show up on windows Explorer as drive F which is normal, but if i boot from the ssd the hard drive wouldn't show up on windows Explorer or partition manager, both drives do show up on the BIOS though.. In the bios, the boot priorities show 3 options to boot from 1.windows boot manager, if selected it'll boot from the ssd and the hdd wouldn't show up on Windows 2.ssd, if selected will still boot from hdd, ssd shows up on windows 3.hdd, will boot from hdd, ssd does show up on windows I've tried reconnecting the sata cables but to no avail I really don't know what to do now, these drives just don't seem to get along, i wanna use my ssd for the os and set the hdd as storage drive for games and personal files, the hdd already has many games installed that i don't wanna lose
  10. i5 4690k Gtx 970 Raijintek triton 240 2x4gb 12800 ram Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd WD Blue 1tb hdd Seasonic x660 80+ gold fully modular psu Corsair Carbide SPEC 02 case Now here's the part that I'm really ashamed of.. The mobo, its a barebone no frills H81 micro atx asrock board, i know i shouldn't be using this board on a build like this but i had no choice, in my country Z97 motherboards are very expensive (twice as expensiveas they're in the states) the cheapest one is from a shady Chinese brand (colorful) and it's not even that cheap either ($145) entry level Z97 motherboards from asus msi and asrock that sell for around 80-100 in the states is $180-$250 here.. For instance the msi Z97 PC MATE is $80 on newegg here it's $185 I used to overclock my 4690k to 4.6Ghz 1.3V stable (non-z oc) but since Microsoft released windows 10 it no longer works, asrock disabled it.
  11. i can get an evo 850 (not the pro model) 250gb for 75 bucks, original price is one benjamin but i got a 25 dollar coupon that i can use, is it worth buying or is there any better choice out there? this will be my first ssd fyi, currently using wd blue 1tb and it bottlenecks my system quite significantly, 4690k + 970..
  12. So it means my coucpu isnt strong enough?
