  1. So a USB mouse works fine in the same port without cutting out at any point? It still does sound like the problem might be with the motherboard.
  2. Problem being that most of them can't build a PC and would probably over spend on parts! Maybe other LMG members with assistance from Linus and Luke on what is a good deal, also would need to have Dennis!
  3. I ordered a 980Ti FTW edition from Scan, as it was £100 off the standard price, no one else had a 980Ti that cheap in the UK, sadly it was too popular and they are having to contact the supplier for more stock, hopefully I get it though!
  4. Really it depends on what you need more, not what people on the internet think you need more or something. Do you need a car? Or are these choices for luxuries? Because if it's the latter, then a PC would be better in terms of the upkeep cost. But if you need a car, get a car.
  5. Oh yeah, that I know but the DPI isn't overly important from what I remember reading and watching. I'm using an Mionix Saiph 3200, had it years and I believe it's now discontinued! I don't know it's quality in comparison to others, other than generic mice, which feel awful and cheap. The one I have has a nice felt feel to the main body and with it's light, it matches my keyboard!
  6. Shame it's only NA, does the UK and Europe have any B-Stock retailers at all to keep an eye on?
  7. I was more just talking about gaming mice in general, I stay a bit from the point sometimes...
  8. The quality of some of the components is also probably a part of what makes the price up. You can feel the quality in the click! Though I don't get any of the DPI stuff, I don't see the need in super high DPI. Depends on the mouse that works for you! Personally, I dislike the shape of that one, I like a fairly standard shape, but if it suits your needs and you like it, stick with it! It's not a big investment at that price.
  9. Still wondering around exploring everything and anything, not yet made my decision, but considering what I am basing my character off, it might end up being The Institute, future playthrough with my own mentality would probably be Minute Men. I don't like the BoS who have stopped by here though, booooo!
  10. Currently playing Fallout 4 and Heroes of the Storm (also Hearthstone but anything can run that!), my time wasting games are not going to need a great deal, but I will be looking at picking up the next Deus Ex and Tomb Raider when those come out. I'd like to say the idea of a 970 makes a bit of sense with future plans, allows me to hold some of the money for a more significant upgrade. Certainly given me more to think about than I initially was, didn't really even consider the AMD cards, though, I'm not keen on the power requirements of the R9 390X. As for the Titan X, I would love one and some bigger monitors to go with it, sadly, I don't have that kind of dosh My 660 will find a new home anyway, it can rest when it's dead!
  11. I currently have a standard GTX 660, I've been thinking of upgrading, eventually I want to get everything upgraded but I can only really do it bit by bit. I could upgrade my CPU for cheaper to an i7-4790K but since I eventually want a Skylake compatible motherboard, I struck that off and looked at my GPU. PSU is EVGA Supernova P2 650W, incase that's a question you may ask! So, I eyed the 980 Ti, that's the highest I am able to dump into a GPU until I save up more money, my real question is, is there a better upgrade for price to performance? I am awful at working these things out and still learning a lot about bits inside the case.
  12. I don't believe an SSD is going to help with your FPS, that would be your graphics card. The only thing I believe the SSD will help with is loading times and really, space on your SSD might be more useful than a few seconds shaved off a games loading time. A decent enough HDD will still load them at a reasonable rate.
  13. GTA: V is over 60GB on it's own, BF 4 is around 30GB, that's 90GB of your 250 used already. I have a separate drive for my games, 1TB hard drive isn't expensive these days and should be able to store a fair number of games. If you are wanting to run new games on an SSD, you will need to invest in one that you will just dedicate to that task, a lot more expensive though and I don't know the benefits of that.
  14. It wasn't overclocked, turbo was on before I updated my BIOS, so I don't know if that would have been the cause.
  15. Hi, I'm looking for a small bit of help, I don't understand much about what happened! I updated my BIOS to the latest version from the ASUS website, my MB is the ASUS Z87-K, after updating and logging into Windows, my system crashed to a BSOD with the whea_uncorrectable_error. I went back into the BIOS and loaded the optimised defaults, also turned off Turbo (just for checking!), Windows seemed to boot up fine and working for the moment, no idea if it will crash again or any idea what to look for. Though logging back into Windows, all of my logins seemed to have been forgotten, browsers and Steam. Any help in what to look at, how to fix this if it happens again, etc would be appriciated! I will be turning Turbo back on just to see if it does anything.
  16. Somewhat but it could be better, so no not really, I didn't spend much to get the PC I have and stole some bits from my old PC, if I had money to spend, I could have something really nice. And currently on a generic PnP keyboard, booooo.
  17. If I was going on looks, I'd pick the Dominator or a black Vengence, what I am looking for is something decent, which is an upgrade from my generic 8GB, no idea what the brand is. Also, any reading material on the matter of RAM to teach myself for the future would be a bonus
  18. My dad has been interested in this game, he played the original Elite when that was out, does this have any resemblence in the solo play to the original? Is it recommended to an old Elite player?
  19. Greetings, Currently, I have some generic 8GB RAM, nothing fancy, can't even remember the brand. I have no idea what RAM will suit my motherboard, it uses 2 dual channel slots, this much I know. Here is my MB: http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/Z87K/ Here are the RAM sets I have been looking at: 1: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/16gb-%284x4gb%29-corsair-ddr3-vengeance-racing-red-pc3-17066-%282133%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-11-11-11-27-x 2: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/16gb-%282x8gb%29-corsair-ddr3-vengeance-pro-series-gold-pc3-19200-%282400%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-11-13-13 3: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/16gb-%282x8gb%29-corsair-ddr3-dominator-platinum-pc3-19200-%282400%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-10-12-12-31-dhx Are any of those worth getting? The ~£215 Dominator is about my upper limit for spending. Thanks!
  20. Greetings to you all, if you haven't noticed, I am terrible at picking usernames, always have been! Aside from this, I am new, I enjoy playing games but not so good at knowing what to buy, I know where things go though! Hi.
