Cataclyst got a reaction from LoTeds in Starcraft 2
Is it worth buying? . I've always been slow at RTS games with building of structures and units etc . I saw how pros use their keyboard and i was like O_O. But my friend says its nice and he plays Rank Starcraft 2 Games, i was wondering if its worth buying . All opinions are welcomed! . Thanks!
Edit: So i started playing Starcraft 2..Is it really laggy when you play Multiplayer? Cuz when im playing campaign,it is really smooth.
My PC specs are:
i5-3470
MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming
MSI GTX 660 Ti PE
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance

Depends what you're rendering. Just look up respective benchmarks with the cpus since final 3d rendering is pretty much just cpu reliant.
Hardware rendering by the gpu is generally so light that it shouldn't take long enough to worry about.
What the $1500 build has over the $750 is a bit more flexibility with more ssd storage, more expandability with the mobo, and more powerful cores + more threads.

Well, it sounds to me like you know what to look for from a monitor, then. Just pick whatever people say looks good and you're golden, in my book.

The MX series is out of my knowledge, but I feel if we're going to start discussing other monitors from ASUS, we might as well start discussing other monitors in general, starting here. Unless there's some particular reason you should only buy those specific models you've listed, I would look at the list I've just linked. It's an excellent buyer's guide for monitors. As for buying a 27" monitor with a 1080p resolution, it's fine if you want the extra size. The reason people don't recommend that is because of pixel density. And to be honest, they have a good point. The images will look much better if you use a 24" and lower monitor with a 1920x1080/1200 resolution, as opposed to something larger. To put that into better perspective, people prefer a 1080p TV when they buy something around or above 40".
Dell's Ultrasharp monitors, ASUS's Pro Art monitors, and BenQ's XL2420TE are all great. The last option, especially, because even for a gaming-grade monitor, its image quality is superb. Not quite to the level of a Pro Art monitor, but definitely nothing to scoff at - if you can afford it.

Cataclyst reacted to Larrivee013 in Router Upgrade
the Asus is reputed to have really good speeds and range. as for dual band what it means is that the router can use the normal/more crowded 2.4ghz band (microwave is on this and wireless phone and everything else) and the 5.0ghz band which is almost empty so less interference. however, 5.0ghz tends to have shorter range based on my experience even though it's less susceptible to interference. normally in radio bands, the lower, the further you can go/pass through objects. both bands have benefits and its fun to have them both.

Cataclyst reacted to LinusTech in Why is Linus mentioning 4K?
You'll need to do a little more research about this topic I think.
4k is supported by pretty much any PC game and modern graphics cards can handle many of them.
Another cool thing is that because it's exactly 4x 1080p you can run 1080p without interpolation.
Not to mention the productivity advantages of higher resolution displays.

Cataclyst got a reaction from Hyydrah in Should I get a PS4 or a gaming PC?
Move your PC to the TV and hooked it up with your TV and play :). I personally like PC because whenever a PC gets outdated or what now,you can change its parts without buying a whole new PC. Unlike Console..when it gets outdated, you buy another new one :). There are Xbox controller for the PC too,if you really want to use a controller :)
