I have the exact same issue. I just upgraded from my 4790k and z97 to a 5950x and x570 unify. I was using my new 3080 since November with no audible levels of whine. Now a few days ago, with my new cpu and the same GPU, I get a terrible whining noise when playing stuff like assasin's creed odyssey. Furmark and aida64 didn't make much noise at all. I'm at a loss frankly and its annoying enough that it sounds like something is horribly wrong with the machine. Almost sounds like a pump failing.

Right? From there it was worrying about crashing in the middle of a heist and reloading again. I hope they implement this ASAP.

Unless you're pushing past 1080p a 390 or a 390x at a really good price is nice. The 390 beats out the 970 now and there are some great deals on ebay. I'd also reccommend getting a higher res. With the 390x at 2560x1080, i've been pushing about 75 fps and above in every game maxed. I got my 390x for 320 though.

Do i just click optimize? it sets it to directx 10, do I need that? is there a setting any where else because it still isnt utilizing the other gpu.
