Hello all, I am looking to purchase my first custom built computer. I am trying to decide on my storage devices. My idea is to have a SSD to boot the startup and run simple things such as Chrome and a few other less intensive programs. I also want a HDD that has the capability to be used as a large storage device while still being fast enough to run programs such as AutoCad and games. I've been looking at the following: Hard Drive: HDD Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive: SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD Any suggestions or criticism on these drives is greatly appreciated. Also included is the rest of the specs I'm looking at: Motherboard Asus Z97-A 149.99 Case Fractal Design R4 99.99 Videocard GeForce GTX 780 Superclocked 3GB 519.99 Processor Intel Core i5 Haswell 3.4GHz 239.99 Ram G. Skill Sniper Gaming 32GB (4x8GB) 299.99 Power Supply Corsair RM Series RM650 650W 119.99 Thanks and have a good one!

Help needed - My first build
redwingsfan333 replied to redwingsfan333's topic in New Builds and Planning
I'm considering getting a SSD and mechanical hard drive. I've heard the SSD is a fast way to do everyday tasks, then the mechanical drives would be a good storage device. There are just so many of everything out there haha -

I'm liking the GTX 780 with the R4 case. And the i5 4670K sounds good. But can you give me more information about the Z97 board? Also, what would the major advantage of two 780s be? -
Help needed - My first build

I don't really have a set budget, but if i had to throw out a number 1500-2000. Also, I've been looking at the GTX 780 superclocked. Any suggestions of which GTX 780 I should get? -
Hello all, I am beginning my first build and I'm not really sure where to begin. I'll list what I am planning on using the computer for and go from there i guess.. -Multi-tasking is key: I would like to be able to watch netflix and play a game simultaneously without any lag either way -3D software such as Siemens NX or AutoCad for a future 3D printer I hope to buy -Two monitors, with the capability for three in the future. I currently have an ASUS VS228 LCD Monitor -Plenty of room for future upgrades once I have more money to improve, so i'd prefer to get a very good starting point. I'm assuming that would be the motherboard, so I should probably go very high quality on that part. -Quiet case: I've been looking into the Fractal Design R4 Case Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

If any of you watch youtube videos, then you have probably heard of WoodysGamertag. Well if you have not, I highly recommend checking out his channel! He started a new series called: Tech Tuesdays, and his most current one on Why CPUs Have Gone Multi-Core is linked below. -
Hey guys, I looking to password protect, or encrypt my flash drive and I'm not sure where to begin. My idea is that I want a way to show one file with all my contact information in case i do lose it, and the rest only accessible with a password. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
