  1. Update, I purchased a portable USB to 3.5mm sound card and now it all works perfectly with no high pitched noise. It seems as though the new GPU was interfering with the onboard sound card in some way. Cheers everyone for the assistance!
  2. Any updates? I'm having a very similar problem with my headset not working and a weird high pitched sound after installing a new GPU.
  3. Yes I've made sure that my headset is the default device and disabled my display but still no sound except a high pitched quiet squeal.
  4. Unfortunately I don't have another headset to test, but this current headset has a 3.5mm audio cable and I use a 3.5mm splitter for sound and mic. I'm worried it's an issue with the onboard sound card or something. Reinstalling drivers now though so fingers crossed. Reinstalled drivers and checked every property and setting in device manager to no avail. I have noticed that the high pitched squeal begins immediately when the system powers on, which is making me think it may be a hardware issue. Is it possible for my onboard sound card to die without affecting the rest of the mobo?

  6. @Pumas_committed_bottleneck I have restarted the computer about 30 times, but I'll try reinstalling the audio drivers and fiddling around in device manager. Reassuring to know it's probably not the headset that's the issue.
  7. Hi, I just installed a new graphics card in my system and when I rebooted, my headset emits a relatively quiet high pitched squeal, and I can no longer hear audio or use my microphone. Both the headphones and mic are detected, I have the latest audio drivers installed, and the headphones and mic both work when plugged into my phone. Please help! My headset is the HyperX Cloud Alpha.
  8. So I recently was given a 240GB Intel SSD 5, which is an 80mm M.2 SSD which uses the SATA III interface. The motherboard I currently have is a Gigabyte Z87-D3HP, which I'm fairly certain doesn't have an M.2 slot. Does anybody know if I can use an adapter to utilise this SSD from a PCIE slot? And would I be able to boot to this SSD, given my motherboard doesn't support M.2? Also if so, do you have any recommendations for adapters? For reference I only have one graphics card currently in my PCIEX16 slot and no other expansion cards. Thanks in advance!
