star_weaver got a reaction from thekingofmonks in Can't boot into any OS after tightening ram timings slightly
fixed it, apparently cpu wanted more voltages from stock, cos ya know setting things to default means not enough voltage

star_weaver got a reaction from YAKINIKU in Questions on how I should mount my CPU cooler
i would say to mount it pushing the air up due to not having an exhaust at the back

star_weaver reacted to aisle9 in Questions on how I should mount my CPU cooler
There's no rear fan, but there is a rear exhaust port. I'm actually surprised Corsair made a case with no rear fan mount.
If it doesn't interfere with your RAM, I'd mount it vertically to exhaust out the top. If it does, I'd point it out the back and count on the hot air to make its way out the back vent. I am really surprised Corsair decided to make a case with no rear fan mount. They must have been figuring that anyone buying it would use liquid cooling, maybe?

star_weaver reacted to dcgreen2k in First-time build: Wh do I put the RAM
Put the RAM sticks in slots A2 and B2. By default, they will run at the speed listed on the right, but you can manually change the speed to match the factory specifications of the RAM, and even overclock it if you want to.

star_weaver got a reaction from LienusLateTips in Will this motherboard overclock?
yea, i know with some -asus?- server boards u can bclk overclock but definitly not with intel branded boards
-
star_weaver reacted to palespartan in can i overclock my cpu with these temps?
definitely no harm in looking at what your dealing with first. And if you're feeling bold enough maybe not a bad idea to repaste it and see if the temps come down at all.

maybe get an old laptop with those specs, keep in mind software isnt a big issue unless your getting something from like 15 years ago

that voltage should be fine, just aslong as it stays bellow 1.4-1.45 or so

star_weaver reacted to Jurrunio in Can i use a old Pentium cpu to update Bios of MSI A320 DDR4 ATX Motherboard
No, because the socket isnt compatible at all. A bit like losing the keys to unlock the door, and trying to use your finger instead.

star_weaver reacted to Ryujin2003 in Same error message keep popping up, but what is it?
It's a VC++ redistributable. Download a bunch of them and install (after uninstalling what you have). Try both 32 and 64 but versions for some of the older ones.

star_weaver got a reaction from MarbleHornets in ISP warned me they detected virus from my PC, I am quite concerned..
get any sort of anti virus and run a scan, i know some isp's do offer some sort of anti virus but they do charge more than others for pretty crappy protection

star_weaver got a reaction from Olli_ in What are the best RTS games on pc?
if you like a good story, i would recomend the starcraft franchise, start with 1 episode 1 and go through to the end of starcraft 2
