  1. If disabling the effects is cheating, that is also a tacit admittance that their feature doesn't aid gameplay, rather it handicaps gameplay. Queue the next developer to release a game with a black screen and call it "gameplay in the dark of night."
  2. Audiotool is pretty awesome. Has the functionality you describe.
  3. If you use a NAS, it would have to be at the local network where the video is recorded. After that, it's a simple matter of forwarding the IP so that you can log in remotely, then its simple enough to direct download.
  4. Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. My personal build up for this game was huge. The first Star Wars shooter with a lightsaber. It was also the time when the game aisle at CompUSA was alive and thriving. This was a game I couldn't wait to get the box for.
  5. I'm looking for a mouse with light actuation switches with little travel, so that the click barely moves the button downward. I can't stand cheaper mice that actuate downward but require additional force to register the click. Please advise.
  6. Really sweet Lowes double action ratcheting screwdriver. Tighten by twisting in any direction. Reverse the gear and loosen by twisting in any direction.
  7. Do you think the company will release footage of glitches or bugs in their gameplay? Just like pre-release of AC:Unity, I searched "AC:Unity gameplay" specifically to see game footage of eyeballs floating around in space, aka glitch. I also wanted to see fps of gameplay if it was going to be a laggy beast. Microsoft wants to shoot these down apparently.
  8. Both 'abandonware' and 'planned obsolescence' are terms that apply here, both of which I find offensive. No reason why touch and tiles couldn't have been a patch or a plugin package, for those who want touch and tiles such as enthusiasts. Mind the gap between core functionality and new features.
  9. Argument 1: Stuff gets cheaper as it gets older, which makes it more accessible to everyone not buying cutting edge stuff. Argument 2: Most people don't need "the newest" of anything. They need "just good enough." Microsoft denies both of these realities. If Microsoft thinks Windows 7 should be mothballed, why not make it open source, along with every other previous Windows OS. Let cutting edge Microsoft work on the touch features, tiles, etc. Let the normal guys work on supporting the old OSes. They won't do this because my guess is that friggin '98 would be "just good enough" for some old cranky people. XP would be "just good enough" for the majority of normal people. Windows 7 would be plenty for most businesses. Which vastly undercuts Satya Nadella's bottom line $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Edited to add: my mother still does accounting on her Windows 95 NEC machine.
  10. I just build my rig in two afternoons after work and POST it last night, even though I never built a computer by myself. I bought a ratcheting screwdriver for the build, that was really helpful. Having a flashlight was helpful. Pulling the cling film off of various parts caused a surprising static build up that snapped when my finger brushed against the case. Get the cling film off early or at the end when the PSU is plugged in and grounded.
  11. Pretend you have been researching "car parts for a honda" because you are shopping around for some routine maintenance to your car. The next day you drive to Walmart and accidentally smash your hood and fender on a light pole. You are an organized person and expediently call your insurance company to get it fixed. Your insurance company casually calls up your ISP and discovers you were searching google for car parts, and you also visited a page "Look at these 5 people who got rich after an accident!" (Hey, sometimes we all visit clickbait)- coincidentally the week before. However they don't know the coincidence, so they have you arrested for conspiracy to commit insurance fraud. Since there's no privacy on the internet, they can see your poor credit and can build a court case showing how you are typically poor, have been google searching for car parts for a month, and after realizing how expensive car parts are, you researched how to get rich from an accident and therefore got the idea to damage your car to claim insurance money.
  12. Microsoft has no official position on Directx 12 and WIndows 7, so you might not be out of luck. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/amd-misspoke-saying-directx-12-won-t-work-with-win/1100-6423617/
  13. I bought a R9 290 and got some free games as a bonus. One option is instead of a game, I could choose a Star Citizen Omega Variant Racer by Accelerated Mass Design. I have no experience or idea what this is. I basically get the gist of Star Citizen but have no idea what the playable status of this game is. Any suggestions?
