Should I upgrade my CPU cooler or stick with what I have?
pebble guy replied to fearZ's topic in Cooling
Your current cooler should be more than sufficient. If you want somthing better but still affordable, check out the Nuctua NH-12S SE -
Just to make it easier for us to help you, it would be great if you posted what hardware you are running
-
Then i think the issue is purely software. Try a clean install of your drivers. Maybe even a BIOS update. I don't know what other hardware you are running, but i have seen some of the new gen4 pcie cause weird issues
-
Is this a good build my budget 1.3k$ USD
pebble guy replied to Joshua124's topic in New Builds and Planning
I would personally skip the watercooler, and use the boxed heatsink or maybe even an Noctua NH12-S The power-supply is also really overkill for this build. You could easily get away with a 500w or even 450w With the money saved form the tweaks above, i would try to go for a 3600XT or maybe even a 5600X -
Looks like a game specific issue. Have had extreme tearing problems in trackmania, running on the Quadro K2100m in my laptop. This seems to come and go for a couple of weeks at a time. Nothing i can do fixes the issue, and it just disappears after a couple of weeks

Sounds like a hardware issue. One thing you could try, is downloading MSI afterburner and lowering the power target. This may fix the problem, and if it does, your GPU would be at fault

Netgear ReadyNAS Duo v2 admin interface issues
pebble guy replied to pebble guy's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Just a little update. It turned out to be an insufficient PSU. The NAS installs the OS on the disks, and the PSU did not supply enough viltage to power up the disks, explaining the missing Admin interface -

As the box has never been setup on my network, i dont think this guide applies. I tried it anyway, but no dice -

Tried that already. Just dug out my old laptop, and an older chrome version and IE8 shows same results. For the record i have disabled all antivirus and firewall with no effect -
Netgear ReadyNAS Duo v2 admin interface issues
pebble guy replied to pebble guy's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Should have mentioned that. The NAS gets a ip adressed correctly, as shown in the router interface and the NETGEAR RAIDiator detects the nas. As i get the same error on my phone, i assume it is not an browser issue. The only option i see thats browser related, would be to fire up my older windows machine and try internet explorer -
I recently bought a used ReadyNAS duo v2. After powering the box up, i could not access the admin interface. I got "connection refused" error. The issue persists across browsers. I installed the RAIDar utility, and it can detect the box, but pressing the Admin page button returns the samme issue. I tried resetting the box to factory settings via the procedure described in the hardware manual(reset button, boot menu etc.) This did not fix the problem either. After connecting a UART to the internal debug port, everything seems normal. No errors on startup etc. I have tried flashing new firmware via the RAIDiator Flash recovery, but it causes a magic number mismatch over the UART. The tool was found on a page mainly reffering to other x86 based readyNAS based models, however the tool works with the ARM firmeare just fine. Found mentions of a different tool for the ARM boxes, but i am yet to find it anywhere. Has anyone managed to solve this issue, and how?

I guys, hope someone out there might be able to help me out here. After about 1 year of standstill the CMOS battery in our 40HD-T ran dry. I replaced the battery, but afterward the 3 formatters are not detected. As the bios was reset, i suspect serial port configuration issues. So if anyone has a unit like, and would mind sharing their BIOS settings(IRQ, etc.), or walking me through configuring the Serial ports properly will post pictures of the config, when i get back to the warehouse again.

The windows update, will most likely be unrelated, and rather an coincidence. Sounds like a graphics chip issue. I would send it in for an RMA as fast as possible

If you could live without the 1440p resolution, the deal on the UC79G would be a shame to turn down. But in the end, it really comes down to what you need for work. Getting the UC79G would also leave you with more money for upgrades to the rest of your setup. In terms of getting an used monitor, i would not really be that concerned. The monitors have been out for a little while now, and since most of the issues is within the first year of the life cycle, i wouldn't worry.
