I digitized a bunch of MiniDV videotapes for my aunt, now I returned for a VHS-C adapter and she told me she also had a bunch of digital photos that needed digitizing, but she was never told how to do so.
She has a digital camera now, and showed me a little box with stuff in them.

She showed me a box of used SD cards
    Something like this:

I kid you not, she did not know how to get them off of there, thus she just bought new SD cards until now.
I don't blame her, she knew it was possible but her kids (my cousins) just couldn't be bothered explaining her how to do it.

This just makes me sad, they already are pretty poor and to spend money on such a stupid thing for no good reason...
Gonna go there in an hour to get rid of this unnecessary way of basically throwing away money.

So I was at school 3 months ago, and we had to share the PC classroom with the older studens which were being taught by an IT guy, I heard him talk about how he always turns off his WiFi router/modem and puts his phone far far away from his bed and how he made his kids do that too... I was like, "k"
But then he went on and said he couldn't sleep with that wifi radiation messing with his body in the first place, he could feel it, that made me cringe.
I bet if I were to put 20 WiFi hotspots under his bed without him knowing, he wouldn't even notice.
It's all in his head if you ask me.
I realise a lot is unknown about what WiFi radiation does to you, but it's bullshit that you think you can feel it, especially coming from someone who us supposed to know better.

Nephew of mine recently got Glass Fiber, of course his Xbox 360 wasn't working when it came to GTA 5 multiplayer, he called his ISP (KPN) and got someone to look at it, they adviced to buy a new modem and so it happened.

Nope, of course that didn't fix the problem.
Anyway, another month passed, so 2 weeks ago I was about to head that way anyway and he told me about this problem and about the possibility of me perhaps fixing it.

I came there, typed the error into google, something along the lines of "Couldn't connect to Rockstar Social Club because of a network error" clicked the first link, did as told and voila, it was working.

Some people take the hard route, and even spend money on it.

    A positive "experience with non-techies"
My Grandfather's "new" wife who's also 80 threw a party for both their birthdays and at one point she sat down next to me and asked me about the TV.
She needed help because sometimes something on TV had black bars on the top and bottom, and she wondered why. She managed to figure out that messing with the buttons on the remote she could remove them or do other things like stretch it. She figured that looking in the manual could help her out. She told me how it's sometimes due to how the TV stations send it towards the viewers (in what aspect ratio) and that that was called "aspect or something"
Woman, I went to school for this shit, you're 80 and know this stuff?!
I'm genuinly impressed by how some people can keep up with stuff like this.

I told her that she probably had an old 4:3 TV and explained what that "aspect ratio" meant and that buying a new TV would likely get her a 16:9 TV which would "fix" her problem.

I see quite a lot of posts about how people call things they're not, or not being specific. Like calling a PC a "Hard Drive"
You must forgive them, as long as it's just calling them by their wrong name but acting like someone who knows what they're doing it's alright.
It's the same bullshit like how people call these things nowadays:

People call them "Drones" whilst that's like saying "Hey, my PC is equal to your gaming PC because it's also a PC"
This thing is called a Quacopter, and if you want to be more specific it's a Radio Controlled Helicopter (quadcopter) or RC Quadcopter.
I hate how anything that flies is called a "drone" nowadays.
    This is a drone

Calavera got a reaction from Bajantechnician in I notice i have bad habit of playing music really loud
Yeah it's bad, especially if you've got those earbuds that make you not hear anything but the music.
If you can't hear your fingers snapping you're definitely playing it too loud.
Really, just teach yourself to have the volume lower, you'll get used to it and be less likely to have hearing problems later in life.
The train I take is usually occupied with a guy that has his music so loud you'd think he played it through the speakers, yet he's wearing earbuds.

The conductor once asked him to turn it down, he didnt even hear him.

"I'm going to buy the HTC Vive or PS4 VR headset because then I don't have to upgrade, the Oculus is far too heavy for my PC"
 Well that's what you get for getting decent graphics and not wanting to puke you idiot.
