    Version 5.3.0 - Fixes (GitHub)

    Hi Everyone,
This is release 5.3.0 of FPD.
Thanks to everyone on our Discord and on GitHub who helped in beta testing, finding bugs, requesting features etc.

For a full list of changes in this version you can look at the 5.3.0 Project Board or the commits at the bottom of this update.
    Notable Changes
    Breaking Changes
#103 Updated daysToKeepVideos to track video age rather than check file age, this means that upon updating any videos you previously downloaded will never be considered for deletion, but videos downloaded after updating will. Fixes
#109 Fix an issue with FPD ignoring video fetch limits. #102 Hopefully fix text glitching when downloading a large number of videos once and for all. #105 Updates to default matching for subchannels #104 Added a restart policy to the default setup on the docker wiki to allow for automatic recovery from unrecoverable errors. 8e84346 Disabled partial video downloads/download resumption as floatplanes download servers have been inconsistent on supporting it.

Pcpartpicker.com has a NZ database.  It’s filter stops at 5.1 so probably useless and you probably already knew this.  If nothing else it may save someone an unnecessary  internet trip.  This one sounds like it needs local NZ info and I don’t have any.

Inrix got a reaction from DobertRownySr in Any benefit to a physX dedicated GPu?
Depends on the game. I have a 1060 because I do some extra gpu stuff its great to improve min frame times as a physx card in Borderlands 2/TPS but as far as I know basically every game outside of that and maybe one other will give no benefit. Plus a 1650 will likely actually cause a performance hit so you would need a better card. Really depends on the games you play.

EDIT: Games you play being like basically only 2 that I know of that get a benefit of maybe 20fps super ultra best case senario, plus you would need a better card than a 1650.

Version 4.0.0 - Floatplane.com Update, Fixes & More colours (GitHub)

    Release 4.0.0.zip
    Install.zip
    Update.zip

This release has some new settings which are covered in the Settings Guide.

This update completely rewrites a large majority of the core code for the script to use the new Floatplane.com site and its API. I heavily suggest doing a fresh install, your old videos should still work fine with this version so you don't need to redownload them.

To use the script from now on you have to be using a Floatplane.com account! Don't worry LinusTechTips.com form users though, you can create a new Floatplane account and then link your form account. For more info on how to do this go read the Installing the Script & Downloading guide.

Video category matching should be much better now that I am using the api, while Floatplane.com does not sort the videos directly into say Techquickie and TechLinked, it's much easier to do with access to the api.

    A short summary of Changes:
Changed login and authentication to use the new Floatplane.com Site. Read above for more info! Large rewrites to core code to  use the Floatplane.com API. Added more posters. Added support for new Floatplane.com creators without needing new updates. Rewrote all the detection code for organisation. Should be much much better now. Added more sexy colours. Removed youtube support.
    Changelog
    Install Guide
I heavily suggest doing a clean install for this version.

If your updating then just download the Update.zip extract it to your install folder and run it. It will automagically update all the needed files and move your settings over.I suggest double checking that everything is correctly updated in the settings.json though it should move your old settings over properly.

Version 3.8.3 - HotFix - Fixes & TechLinked Support (GitHub)

    Release 3.8.3.zip
    Install.zip
    Update.zip

This is a HotFix for adding support for TechLinked. It also contains some fixes that were finished and ready for the next release. TechLinked support is mainly for plex, 3.8.2 can download the videos fine, it just does not have the ability to sort them into its own folder for plex.

I also created a banner for TechLinked for plex too which is under the videos/artwork alongside the others.

Inrix reacted to Tabs in What should I upgrade to run 6 Emulators smoothly?
Almost all android platforms are now 4-8 core by design. Theoretically, the more threads=the better for emulation, since the emulator could park threads on more cores instead of having to shuffle them around the way computers had to back in the 90's and early 2000's before dual core became "the norm".

If you have the money for it, a threadripper 1920X would be perfect for this - you could assign 4 threads to each emulator and that would fill out the full 24 threads available to the system, and each emulated instance would have ample real threads to make each individual emulator run more smoothly.

However, if that's outside your budget - which would be understandable, as it's an expensive platform - then I'd recommend basically anything that can handle at LEAST 12 threads, so you can assign two per emulated instance. For example, any of the 8 core/16 thread Ryzen 7 chips like the 2700 and 2700X would enable you to assign 2 threads per instance and still have 4 dedicated threads left over for the host operating system.

I wouldn't recommend going for an i7-8700 or i7-8700k or i9-series chip. They are simply too expensive - both the platform and the chip - to make the investment worthwhile. However - it may be worth investigating whether or not the emulation platform you use has been optimised for intel platforms or not - it's all well and good making the logical choice of component selection but if the emulator will start to run a slower codepath on non-intel systems the change may end up not being worth it.

Inrix got a reaction from leadeater in FreeNAS RaidZ 6x4TB - 500MB/s+ Write But 25MB/s Read?!
Oh man this has been an adventure. So, after ALOT of testing the networking, indevidual drives, FreeNAS install, Adaptor etc. I finally found out that the firmware version for my SAS Card was apparently known for having issues. I quick flash up to version 20.00.06 has fixed the write issue completely and freenas seems a lot happier now!

The array is going VERY nicely now

So for anyone out there who is having issues. I would suggest looking up if your firmware has any known issues, then troubleshooting the drives individually, then on another OS, etc.

Thanks so much for your support @leadeater tbh I should have checked the firmware at the beginning but I was being stupid  Glad it's all working now.

Inrix reacted to Shiftstealth in 1080 ti strix 2100mhz and beond
You could probably flash another BIOS on the card, but you'd be doing that for minimal gains. Very very few cards hit above 2100Mhz. I'd say you might gain 25mhz if you flash the other BIOS. IMO not worth it. You'd need to download nvflash, and have someone backup their BIOS from another card that has a higher limit, like your Aorus. I think the factory overclocked STRIXX might have a higher power target than your card if you have the non-OC one. So that might be the most viable one if you decide you really need that extra 25mhz.

Version 3.7.0 - Lots of new features, Major bug fixes & More Colours (GitHub)

    Release 3.7.0.zip
    Install.zip
    Update.zip

This release has a large amount of new features added, which are covered in the Settings Guide.

A short summary of features added are:
Sorting channel videos into seasons based on the Year or the Month they were released. Important, for this to work you need to change the Plex Library setting for seasons to only hide single seasons, this is covered in the plex guide. Ability to change download server if you get a slow speed from NA Ability for format the filename with the date the video was released, thanks to @rob1998 for the sample code. Note this might break plex ordering so use at your own risk. Added ability to have the script auto repeat itself based of a user set time. You can either enable this or setup your own way of looping the script to have it run hourly etc. Integrated plex section rescan and metadata updating into the script to reduce disk usage from re-scanning every time the script runs to only when new videos are downloaded. Thanks to @jt999 for the feature request. Below are the Major Bugs that have been fixed in this release:
Finally fixed the session issue that has been around since 3.1.0, Anyone using forceLogin you should now be able to set this to false! Doing so will greatly improve script performance Fixed naming of episodes for plex where having multiple " - " after the season and episode numbers would break episode ordering. This will require a redownload of videos to fix previous episodes, and may cause the script to redownload videos that aren't downloaded using the new naming scheme.
