I have a problem with my wireless speeds not reaching close to ethernet speeds. I have a 105 Mbps plan and only receive around 20 Mbps on Wifi. Ethernet always gets to the 105 mbps speed and sometimes surpasses it. I have tried the internet speed test in various wireless devices and all have the same result. Any suggestions will greatly help. This is my modem http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825122015 and I'm using this as the router http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122326

Thanks for the intel. I thought it had something to do with my previous configuration. This is my first 1080p monitor. If that's true then thank you for telling me.

I just purchased the Asus VS248H-P and the bios screen is not showing at 1080p. I had an old HP Monitor running at 1600 x 900 and upgraded to the Asus monitor. The bios screen is showing black bars on every side of the screen but Windows 7 displays at 1080p just fine. The motherboard I'm using is the MSI Z77A-G-45. Any suggestions to help me fix this issue will be appreciated.

My favorite thing about the HTC M8 is the video quality.

I'll revert all my overclocks and the XMP profiles I had to enable because they were actually disabled by default. I have Microsoft Essentials. Ok from all this advice I'll revert my overclocks and see if that was the problem.

Thanks man. I didn't even test my OC :c I just followed the one Linus did on his video on overclocking a 3770K. I added a little more voltage to see if that helps. i find it weird however that my pc blue screens when just browsing on Chrome. Even if the CPU is not doing intensive work can it still crash from an overclock?
-
I just built a PC and I'm getting random blue screens. The first time it happened while playing DayZ and the next time it was on Chrome. I did overclock my CPU but wouldn't it blue screen at boot if it wasn't stable or am I wrong? I have updated the BIOS and have my GPU firmware updated. I initially mounted my RAM on the 1st and 3rd DIMM slots. I just recently moved them to slots 2 and 4 as I read that it was the preferred way. I tested the RAM before moving themin the WIndows memory diagnosis. I looked in the BSOD report in the action center and found this: 112413-5896-01.dmp sysdata.xml WERInternalMetadata.xml Specs: Motherboard: MSI Z77A G-45 CPU: 3770k @4.5GHz cooled by H100i GPU: EVGA GTX 560 1GB (non-Ti) Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1866 Storage: Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB PSU: Corsair AX 760

Yes, I did catch that when I was looking for them on Newegg. Now that I mentioned Newegg. I signed up for a free trial for their ShopRunner shipping service and ended up receiving 1 year and 3 months extra when I was going to cancel before the trial ended. You guys might might want to sign up and try this too. Free 2 day shipping is amazing!

Alright so I guess I can save a little more on my upgrade. I'll buy new RAM if I feel comfortable spending more money after the upgrade. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the correction! I edited the my original post.

Behold :c

Guys I'll take out the RAM and post a picture. I'll switch to my laptop real quick. Just a sec!

I'm currently at school for a computer science degree so I have no idea if I'll be needing more RAM for the programs I'll be required to use. Ughhh that RAM was taken out from an old HP case but I remember the name of the PC. I went on the HP website and looked up the specs of the PC and only found the following for the RAM. I do recall seeing a Samsung logo on them if that matters. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01859884#N289 Amount: 8 GB Speed: PC3-10600 MB/sec (message as PC3-8500) Orly? :c I don't have a budget but I also don't want the cold-sweat feeling of clicking the submit button with a total of $900 (I'm doing a major pc upgrade)

I think I'll go with 8 GB right now and then upgrade to 16 GB early next year. I don't have a budget but I like to play safe when it's possible. How about another 8 GB?

Hello forum! I'm in the process of upgrading my PC but I have a question regarding RAM. I have 8 GB (4 x 2) of DDR3 1333 GHz RAM that I reused from a 5 year-old PC. Has modern RAM significant improved over the last 5 years and worth the upgrade? I mostly use my PC for gaming and a little but of 3D software.

Sorry for the late reply. I was in class but OMG! An SSD sure does sound good at that price including the other components. Thank you so much for the help man! (:
-
Thanks for the information. The 3570k is still my number one choice but I'll still be open for any other CPU's like the 8350 for example.
-
My actual budget is $460 Thanks for the information and I'm really inclined in to buying the 8320 based on the information you provided. I'm aware that my GPU is a bottleneck and I want to upgrade to a 760 or the new R9 270X by early next year. I'm just hoping Nvidia will price drop some of their cards right now to create competitive sales.
-
Sorry for the misunderstanding. My budget for the CPU alone is $220. I can buy the motherboard as well but I need to put a cap first on the CPU. College student :c I just want to know if it's worth the extra money to go Intel.
-
Thanks. I'll research this CPU and consider it as a potential buy.

My budget is $220. I actually got the H100i as a gift. I would rather get the 760 or the R9 270X :c Got it as a gift (:
