  1. Look up varies reviews from known techies, and it will be the same story, GTX 980 beating the R9 390X/290X. I dont care if you wont accept that or not, I am putting my advise on this, buy the GTX 980 if you want the superior card. PS in Pauls video, it wasn't faulty.
  2. Yes check out . Other source : https://youtu.be/31jGGOH5Wjg?t=6m36s PS All of these cards are overclocked, and the Matrix Platinum is not a low end card at all.
  3. There is a huge gap between the 390X/290X vs the GTX 980 (Yes I know its a Classified, but that still counts). Firestrike Normal : 12,297 vs 16,693 (GTX 980 Wins) Firestrike Extreme : 5,454 vs 7,833 (GTX 980 Wins) Firestrike Ultra : 2,735 vs 3,796 (GTX 980 Wins) Witcher 3 - Ultra Preset / Postprocessing High / Hairworks OFF 1080p : 59 vs 73 (GTX 980 Wins) Witcher 3 - Ultra Preset / Postprocessing High / Hairworks OFF 1440p : 40 vs 54 (GTX 980 Wins) GTA V - High Settings MSAA 2x 1080p : 88 vs 116 (GTX 980 Wins) GTA V - High Settings MSAA 2x 1440p : 61 vs 75 (GTX 980 Wins) Metro Last Light - Very High Quality, No SSAA, Normal Tess, Normal Motion Blur, No PhysX 1080p : 94 vs 123 (GTX 980 Wins) Metro Last Light - Very High Quality, No SSAA, Normal Tess, Normal Motion Blur, No PhysX 1440p : 57 vs 77 (GTX 980 Wins) Crysis 3 - Very High with MSAA 2x 1080p : 62 vs 78 (GTX 980 Wins) Crysis 3 - Very High with MSAA 2x 1440p : 41 vs 55 (GTX 980 Wins) So the story short is, yes the GTX 980 is worth the extra money, some of the tests it had alot more than just 10% performance gap, heck even in some of them nearly 30%. PS - They launched it as a different card, AMD fanboy'ism called it a refresh.
  4. GTX 980, the 390x is just a rebrand/rebadge, so why buy it? Also the GTX 970 / 980 are really good, anyways if you're confused, look at recent reviews from JayzTwoCents, LinusTechTips etc, where they compare graphic cards (May even be in a 980ti review). Anyways in this one, he actually does them. 390x = 290x.
  5. I think he is reffering to something like videoblocks, but for free.
  6. But honestly, if I were to purchase a GPU at this very moment, I wouldn't lay awake by night if I went with current 900 series cards, sure they may be ''obselete'' or not be the best in DX12 enviroments, but honestly, do we know when games you actually wanna play, will support DX12? I for example, dont play most Triple A titles, as they dont interrest me, so a card like a 980 Ti would probably ''last'' me longer, as I wouldn't be as much effected by DX12.
  7. I highly believe that is a rumour and highly doubt that it is true, as it would be really stupid of Nvidia to do so, as this is their brand new lineup, honestly why would they? Further more, it has been stated that Microsoft and Nvidia has worked together on DX12.
  8. I'd would advise you to check out reviews for the particular graphics card, that you are going to get, and see what to expect from it, if you're happy with that, go for it. I would personally suggest a Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 (atleast if thats your route), as it has been proven to be one of the best, if not the best 980 Ti card.
  9. There is no point in purchasing a GPU, where the some games are better optimized for it, buy the one that is good performance overall and what gives you the most bang for the buck. Honestly, the AMD GPUs aren't that amazing, the Fury was supposed to compete with the 980 ti but came short. Also 2x 390x is horrible, those GPUs are what 3-4 years old, rebranded so many times its a joke. Just get an Nvidia card and you will be alot better off, and you will never have to explain your self either, as you would settle by going to the darkside (AMD) at the moment.
  10. From what I've read, its due to the fact that Skylake only has dual channel, where as the Haswell-E has quad channel, meaning that the Haswell-E will take a harder hit on the socket, in short meaning you have to shorten your maximum overclock on the CPU. But you shouldn't have any problems running them, if their speeds are supported.
  11. Well.. In my opinion 1000$ is alot, when monitor only used to be $200-300, atleast those I bought But then again 1440p & UHD/3860p is still not too common, which is why it has a premium. But yeah overall its a cool monitor, and if it were this ''cheap'' around here it would probably compete with the LG Ultrawide, which is probably 400-500$ cheaper here.
  12. The monitor by looking at its specs sounds really cool, it has what the LG ultrawide is missing and that is more Hertz, however I honestly wouldn't pay that much for a monitor, and honestly, i couldn't really tell which one to get, as i can't find the one I want either, as i'd like a Ultrawide 30+ inch, IPS with 100-144Hz and 1440p or 4k. Anyways, the reason why Titan X is ''good'' for 4k is due to its higher vram and that is something that all graphics card will use during 4k, the 980 ti has half of that, but it beats it on bang for the buck and custom. If I were you, I would probably take that monitor unless you can find something else that is 1440p and has 100-144Hz and get 2x 980 ti, as 1440p is not ''that'' demanding on vram. Look at it from this perspective, the Titan X costs 300$+ more but doesnt give you 300$+ worth of performance, you could spend this money else where, espicially when you're looking at 980 Ti's. Anyways regarding a case, I would probably go with something like a Corsair 900D (even tho it has not outstanding airflow performance) or something in the Caselabs range. I hope this helps!
  13. You should be able to run games at uber settings or close to it, while being on 1440p, however if you get into 4k, i wouldn't advise uber/extremely high, as it would blast through your FPS. But again, the performance gap from a 980 ti to a Titan X is only 5% or so, which you can gain back on the 980 ti by overclocking it, as it has a better cooler and custom PCBs, where as the Titan X there is only one version of it. PS - Vrams does not stack, so if your cards have 6GB each, you have 6GB in total. Thats also why people who really wanna do 4k have Titan X, but I still wouldn't advise you to buy it, due to its ''lack'' of performance for the extra 300$+.
  14. So you pre-order something without knowing if its good or shit? I dont see your logic.
  15. In a worst case scenario, I'd say you could go out and buy a new/used motherboard for the workstation, to bypass the crap it came with.
  16. Yes a workstation is a decent/good gaming computer depending on its components, and just by looking briefly on that CPU, yes it should work fine no doubt, but dont expect to have 3 Titan X's in, and the Quadro 600 is ancient, its probably not the worse graphic card, heck you could of gotten a mobile GPU, then you'd be in trouble! But honestly, it should be able to pull some games, but not at ultra or high. I'd probably change that to something newer, GTX 950+ or whatever your budget fits. PS if you want a good bang for your buck, the GTX 970 is not bad.
  17. I dont just get why waste multiple days of your life, waiting not turning a revenue by working, only to something this silly? I'd assume you could just wait a few days or maybe a week to get one right? Pre ordering is the most retarded shit ever, theres no word to describe it, by Pre ordering, you're ruining the industry.
  18. I dont understand why people camp outside Apple Stores, for god sake.. Its just an Apple product, its not like anything important or something special.
  19. I ended up ordering a USB Mixer with Phantom Power and hopefully this will make it work like a charm.
  20. Hello guys, So I just found out that I need phantom power in order to power up my condenser microphone (MXL V67G) and I just want to get it right.. But if I order something like this https://www.av-cables.dk/mikrofoner/phantom-power-unit.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjwx_WuBRDJ7tSK2-W0pJkBEiQAEWgR8Okt_iMmyPqoUV0lGZ_OhwgFjvQxdCBOuatUAHdx79EaAhr68P8HAQ Would that mean I could put a Minijack to XLR to this unit and then a XLR to XLR cable into the actual microphone and get it working? I got a XLR to Minijack right now and yeah that doesnt work due to it not having phantom power. Thanks in advance!
  21. Again, I would spend all the money on GPUs, as the scaling is horrible. Anything beyond 2 is pointless unless your bank doesnt mind it But the rest of the computer should be able to keep up, espicially if you get enthusiast grade products.
  22. Futureproof may not be the actual word, however I'd say going ''overkill'' is never a bad solution, if you do not mind spending the money. Think of it like this; If you dont need to have the fastest PC each year, you could get a really good one and it would stay that way for 1-2 years and then for the next 3-4 years, it would still be considered above average or good. The last desktop i had lasted 6 years, so hence why I like to go overkill. Anyways, if I had 3000-3300$ and were to spend it all on computer hardware, i'd either take the 5820k with 2x 980 TIs or 5960x with 1x 980 TI.
  23. If you really have to spend 600$ on any given X99 motherboard, I would personally choose this one, because of the fact that you can put two CPUs in it. Asus Z10PE-D8 WS. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-633-AS
