I'm actually rather surprised my computer is "VR Capable"...this was somewhat of a low budget build. I built it for 930 Canadian Rupees with zero expectation that I would be doing VR on it...

djandyw got a reaction from Takadi in Bent AMD CPU pins
I had something like this happen with my 990fx 8150 build. i went to re thermal the cpu and my cooler was stuck on the cpu. i pulled out the cpu with a bit of force and it just happened i was turning the cooler a bit. Anyways it bent the pins in 1 corner but not much i just used a very small screw driver and lined them back up. i got lucky none of them broke or snapped. anyhow i put the cpu back in it works fine just watch out do not be forceful. if your cooler gets stuck on the cpu just turn it left and right gently until it loosens of. rather then pulling upward and turning.

as long as the pin is straight its fine
its like bending a very expensive wire
much easier with AMD than intel

Get the Intel Core i7 5960X. If you want something a bit cheaper get the Intel Core i7 5930K. They both have 40 PCIe lanes. The Intel Core i7 5820K only has 28 PCIe lanes.

No need to post multiple times, you can either add everything to one post or edit it later

Ubuntu all the way, I just can't wait until it gets full steam support. It really needs it.

I set up an OS X virtual machine for a while just to kinda get a feel for it.
IMO it feels like a crappy Linux distro.
If you must switch, there's no reason to go Mac. Game support isn't much better on OS X, and you'd have to buy all new hardware or go through the process of putting together a Hackintosh, which very well could involve replacing lots of parts. Linux is free and can be installed on any PC.
Try out Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop environment. It's my favorite distro and really easy and simple to use.

Switch to Ubuntu.
It's getting more and more support everyday. Personally the second Linux gets full PC game support is when i'll abandon windows entirely.
