Hey all, I'm not a regular here despite having an account for awhile. I generally do my own troubleshooting but I'm at my wits end right now with my Lenovo legion y740 17.3in 9750h 2070mq model laptop. I've replaced the ram with 2x16gb of crucial ballistix 2666 and the killer wifi chip with an Intel ax 200 chip.
This laptop was literally working yesterday, like I was on discord, chrome, even a few casual hearthstone games, it was fine. But today I flipped the lid open and its boot cycling. Here is a link of that: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18OaVsXwIEY9gUMpsu_i82EpA8osNveZF/view?usp=drivesdk a 1m video. I already unplugged everything when I took the video and in fact it's doing it right now as I write this.
My troubleshooting steps: hold power button to turn it off all the way, and turn it back on.
Unplug everything.
Unplug everything but the second monitor to see if that gets a signal.
Try to boot from windows media tool on a USB.
Reseat ram.
Try stock ram kit that came with the laptop.
Take out aftermarket wifi 6 chip.
Take out all storage. (500gb ssd and HDD)
No storage plus USB stick to try to boot.
Hold shift +f8 as told by Lenovo forum for Thinkpad (just to try)
F1, f2, f3, etc while cold booting.
Fn F1... Etc while cold booting.
Shift f1... Etc while cold booting.
HDMI cable to monitor rather than display port.
Letting it boot cycle all night to drain the battery, then try to power it on again. Letting it sit til full charge again then try to power on.
Dusting the fans out.
I don't know what to do anymore. Can someone help me please?
