  1. The example you just gave also has increased cache values etc. This also helps the drives perform faster. Currently I am looking for the following: HDD to save Photo's/Video's to edit from without having to move the files continuously from my HDD to my SSD as they are rather big and tend to give performance losses when editing them from HDD (for me at least). I am looking for over 10TB in total storage. Preferably saved twice so probably in RAID1. As far as I am aware there are only 6TB HDD available currently so I was looking at those. But was wondering, if they also come with performance loss rather then buying 3TB drives. My current solution is rather bad for long term storage and if crashes happen everything is lost. (I am also looking into off-site storage, but this will be the next step in my progress of upgrading my storage.)
  2. What kind of speed increases are we talking about? .01%?
  3. I am looking for a new HDD and while looking I started to wonder is there any difference in speeds when you go up in HDD size? For example is there any difference in read/write speeds etc? I can't find any topics that specifically cover this. So every spec is the same they are only bigger in capacity.

  5. I like to have my computer parts new. (as I can get 21% taxes back) plus the warranty. I've had multiple times that 2nd hand stuff was doa. This is going over my budget with around 180 euro Keep in mind 1 pound is about 1,40 euro at the moment.
  6. What I normally do is go to a compare website and just order which store offers the cheapest and 3 days delivery time tops, http://nl.hardware.info/ http://tweakers.net/
  7. I am gonna start building a Server at home for Cloud storage and all the other stuff I'll be hosting. And I will need some advice. I am mainly looking for a ton of storage space for a low price. (pref 7200rpm but slower is possible) This is what my average HDD looks like:(I have to store a ton of data for my clients) Keep in mind I live in the Netherlands. (so anything that is not sold by an European store will require me to pay import taxes) This server has to run either windows or linux, as I'll be installing a ton of other stuff next to Cloud system. So a simple NAS will not break the deal in this case. This is the current server running at a data-center which I can't take over from the company so use that as a reference. (the HDD is raid1) I'll leave the option for the case open. I do have a few cases laying around but they aren't pretty and are almost rdy for the dumpster. (they are ATX based) I also have a 750 Watt power supply laying around which needs cleaning, but usable. Also 1x 500GB 2.5inch HDD laying around which can be used in this build. If possible RAID support but that's not necessary. I've been looking around in the last few days but I'm passing the budget fairly quickly.
  8. I have seen and sat in a lot of office chairs. (due to continuously changing jobs.) Which range from low-end to high-end chairs and to be honest I didn't notice that much of a difference most of them sat the same and for me cause I am 2meters/6.5~6.6 feet tall. I could never find any decent chairs that would have both a headrest and enough options that I could choose height and so on. One of my big requirements for my chair was not spending about 400+ euro's on the chair. (I just didn't have more money sitting around at the moment, I could afford to spend on a chair) I in the end settled with the Maxnomic chair (the 185~200cm version/office comfort) which for me at least sat the most comfy. Most office chairs I've tried and sat in all had the same lifespan due to the abusive use people put them through. as a reference, my ikea chair lasted me over 5 years before the mechanics started to fail on me and the cushion felt like it didn't do much and was sitting on the wooden frame. Most chairs will do the same, if you don't abuse them to hell. I admit these "gaming" chairs aren't the best, but they were the most comfy and sat the best for the price you would pay for it. I also wanted a chair that was plain black and wasn't too showy. so a ton of chairs just fell off because they would have random color in them. Maybe when I have more money I might get a different more expensive chair for at work. (I am never there cause shitty chair) But for now I really enjoy the racing design these gaming chairs use.
  9. that makes sense. I never knew it worked like that. I'm going to look which card gives me greater performance and stick with that one. As I am getting it for free anyway.
  10. As far as I was aware this was not case for AMD? As I've seen multiple video's of 280(x) crossfired with 7970's
  11. Is this due to the lack of external crossfire adapter?
  12. I've had a 7970 in my computer for a while now. And I am getting my hands on a 290 for pretty much free. is it possible to crossfire the 2? As I've seen no external crossfire on the 290 anywhere? I've been looking around and I've not been able to find any information on it. I am talking about these 2 cards: 7970: http://xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-hd-7900-series/amd-radeon-hd-7970-double-dissipation-edition-fx-797a-tdjv r9 290: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R92904GD5/
