  1. I am in the same boat. I have a 500g ssd that my "new/still played" games are on, and I just move them to my spinning rust when they are no longer played on a regular basis. (so easy to do now that steam allows this move to be done from within steam itself)
  2. Here is what I would love to see. A comparison of this (Intel) setup and a comparably (to the optane) priced m.2 ssd (such as Silicon Power 120g) on a ryzen using stormi. This may be important to someone who is looking to build a new system and may make the difference in what they buy (while also showing some investigative journalism instead of paid infotainment).
  3. So a ship ,lets take a nuclear sub as they produce their own power (even tho it would not work in space, but as an example for power production/vehical weight). So ~185MWe x 1.2N/MWe = 222 newtons of thrust or (for the 48000T weight (my math hurts, fix if wrong plz) weight of the sub) 0.004625 ms2 of acceleration in space. Which (if my math is correct, it probably isn't but anywho) after a day of constant acceleration would achieve a velocity of 399.6 ms or 893.87974230494 mph according to this site's (http://www.ajdesigner.com/constantacceleration/cavelocity.php) calculator (did I say I suck at math?). which is not bad actually (if it would scale correctly and my math is correct)
  4. oh you need to have the navigation pane under view options enabled to see it
  5. open file explorer on the left side it should list My PC desktop ..... Videos right click it there to get to properties
  6. If the psu is new, try a known good one in the new build (You got a good model but there can be mistakes in manufacturing) do you have a known good mb that is compatible? if so try the suspect cpu in the known good. (I would advise this route rather than a known good cpu in a suspect mb, I have heard of a mb killing a cpu but not a cpu killing a mb) if not then just rma both and wait.
  7. Just want to verify, you have the 8 pin cpu connector on also. if it still will not post remove the cpu and check for bent pins on the socket
  8. Are you using the launch options to enable more core usage? and in the vid he is wrong an I5-4460 would be 4 cores Also, found more info here (this post has a nice graph)
  9. sorry didn't see your edit. All good tho. edit: it posted a pic i was using on another reply that I can't seem to remove. ahh found it
  10. cores and cache - internal host controllers, eg. USB, SATA or GbE, memory controllers, PSP, timer, counter, ACPI or legacy interface - external (to the cpu) interfaces all will be serviced via the same connection type rather than one type of connection for memory controllers, one type for pcie, one type for the system clock
  11. pcie over gmi link I am sure that AMD will leave enough extra bus connections that the partner board manufacturers will still be able to differentiate their products. what about when Intel put the north bridge or the voltage regulator (which they are removing with the skylake release) onto their cpu ? how many cpu's failed due to that? this condensing of system chipsets has been happening for years. Again, already happening in the market. Intel with different chipsets and changing the socket every(or every other) update to the lineup. Amd will just be following the market leader in this already accepted practice.
  12. I agree there is a difference, however since I do not own the game I can not say if this is a built in game mechanic (more snow applies a slight blur filter) or different settings. As a comparison (without showing the benchmark settings) it is useless. While I am excited about the pricing on the card (as a 1080p gamer) I am also enthused to see such great performance per dollar. I will be waiting for independent testing prior to purchasing but it looks like my 650ti boost is getting replaced (the 650ti boost was a great performance per dollar at the time).
