  1. I think a 32GB Optane cost about $90. And anyway OCZs performance is not that great in the SSD world. But thank you for the recommendation.
  2. Well I was really vying for it. Having only 500 GB of SSD space for games is just not enough. I wanted more. So if Optane is not worth it, would running 2 SATA SSDs on RAID0 be better?
  3. It did say in their website faq that it would take several boot cycle before you can see significant results.
  4. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/memory-and-storage/intel-optane-memory/000024018.html
  5. It was. But since I'm gonna build an Optane drive, Windows will have to be on that bootable HDD or it will not work.
  6. My new system I had just setup is running on the Kabylake 7700K alongside the Asus Rog Swift Z270E. It's ready for Optane. From what I read in the official Intel website, it can only run on a bootable SATA drive which has to have Windows 10 in it. The drives that I have in my rig are: 1 x Samsung 960 Evo NVME M.2 250GB 1 x Samsung 850 SSD 256GB 1 x Seagate 2TB 7200RPM (This is for storage) 1 x WD Blue 1TB (Windows and games) I will be running Optane on the WD Blue HDD. And the reason for this is because I will be installing tonnes of games here and I want to run everything fast. The 2 Samsung SSDs simply do not cut it due to their limited available space. So the noob question is as follows: I read the Asus manual. It said that in order to run Optane, I have to switch to the RAID controller from AHCI controller. And... Due to the limitation of the Intel Chipset, all the drives will be in RAID mode. If I did not create any volumes, can the other 3 drives still be read in the system?
  7. Lol. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html According to this, it should be no problem. Thank you!
  8. Hmm... newb question incoming. Will it be compatible with my Gigabyte graphics card?
  9. Hi Everybuddy, AIDA64 Extreme Edition - While the cheapest among the four available editions, its price is still a bit too much for me (broke from buying too many games during the Steam's winter sale). Key feature for a well-known, suggested alternative is to monitor my motherboard, cpu, gpu, temperatures in-game, using my smartphone, like how AIDA64 is able to do exactly that. Is it the only software which is able to monitor stats while you're in a game? I've tried Logitech's Arx control (yes, I have a Logitech keyboard). There is no cpu temp... Thank you in advance for any suggestions guys!
  10. There are currently two ways to get over this oversight: 1. Someone came up with a color profile switcher application. You'll need .NET 4.5 to be installed and the latest version of the LGS. http://gateofdreams.de/download/cps/index.htm It may or may not for some people. It didn't worked for me. 2. Logitech has its own LED SDK. If you know a little about programming, you could try to make your own color profile switcher program. I believe Logitech is currently working on it and we'll just have to wait until they release a new update to the LGS.
  11. I believe the forum here has so much to say regarding my predicament. Most of the posts are against buying the gsync model and encouraged the poster to buy the Z model instead.
  12. Yup, I guess 1080p is a little bit of a downer for a state-of-the-art, ultra-expensive (I'm not so sure about the expected price... $1000?), g-sync monitor (three hyphenated words in one sentence!). Even Philips offered only 1080p with their 272G5DYEB model. I'm just don't understand why they would persistently offer 1080p when at that resolution with 120/144Hz, it is easier to drive nowadays. You're right about the price difference. It may cost about $1000, so I might as well go for the Asus ROG Swift.
  13. You are too kind! If I am the lucky winner that is.
  14. Ah, good point mate. I'm someone who often not think ahead sometimes. Now you mentioned about that, I should go for a g-sync monitor. But I love BenQ. I would not go for any other brand. And I need an upgrade to a 27-inch monitor. 24-inch monitors (if you're going to suggest the XL2420G) doesn't feel big enough for me anymore. So this means I have to wait. I'm not sure if my cat would still be alive when the 27-inch one finally comes out.
