Honestly, the performance is in line with what should be expected. 

The issue is simply the price pascal was 600 for a 1080 on launch (which was instantly 550 aib on launch), Today the msrp for a 4080 is 1199. That's literally double. I understand things do creep up a bit over time but 7 years for a 100% increase is quite steep. Realistically 650/700 should be the price. The 4090 should have been 999, and the Titan should have been 1500.  Maybe we'll see prices come down to earth next gen, but I'm not buying until I feel like i'm getting decent value for a top tier gpu. At the prices I listed I would have bought a 4090, However I'm sticking with a pascal card until this sorts itself out. 

You'd have to pay attention to mounting holes, capacitor clearance, and shim height. If it all checks out then yes, but for your specific cards the 3080 has 66.25x 58 mounting, and your 6950xt has 54x54 mounting, so it won't line up at all.

Everyone is right. Depends entirely on the construction of the capacitor. We use 33,000 uf capacitors at work in a welding unit, and they function fine with quite substantial dents in them. Small electrolytics may be wound so tight to get more capacity in a smaller can that deforming the outer case could pierce and short out the capacitor internally.
 
I guess it worked fine, but an easy way to check a capacitor is with a multimeter on the diode test. Poke the probes on the cap, and if the voltage on the meter starts off near 1 volt and drops to nothing within a few seconds (on small capacitors, larger ones may never drop to nothing), you should be good. Shows there's no short internally and that the capacitor is working.

That's modern hardware for some of us 🙂

Took a bit of calculating, but he's saying his car gets 40 compression cycles per 0.49 oz of soluble fat, which would be at 42mpg would be roughly 0.1640625 Miles per hog head. That's assuming his car is that efficient, is optimal speed for compression and only compresses when needed....so it's probably less than that.

Windows 7 only fixes your issue because it doesn't support DX12.

Well, if they aren't all DX12, then looking at your post you have one other thing in common. 3D gpu workloads, consistent with memory degradation, or overflow. 
 
Watch your memory clocks, voltages, and ensure good temp. DX12 might be more of a problem because of the way the API calls. 
 
It may be as simple as the AMD driver/bios that you had installed however. The switch of OS most likely was just a benefit because of driver switch if you've seen improvement.

Multi-channel memory means the system can combine the data channels used in RAM to effectively increase the amount of data that can be transferred at once between the CPU and RAM. This is a motherboard + CPU feature. The number of RAM modules that you buy in a kit is not indicative of anything. You can buy single sticks from the same lot and put them in a multi-channel system. It's just that buying, for example, two sticks from a dual-channel memory kit is a factory guarantee that it'll at least work in a dual-channel system. I've heard that motherboards can be finnicky about not allowing multi-channel memory, but I'm under the impression as long as the specs (speed, timing, and capacity) are the same, it should work.
 
As a bit of a technical background, DDR-SDRAM (any generation of it) has a 64-bit data channel. Combining these channels increases this to multiples of 64-bits. So in a dual channel memory system, if you have matching RAM modules, turns the effective bandwidth into a 128-bit one. A tri-channel system will increase this to 192-bits. A quad-channel will increase this to 256-bits.

Honestly for a noticeable upgrade Either speakers, or spending your whole budget on headphones would probably be what you're looking at. Now if you go with a very high level headphone (300+ish range) then you could worry about a dac/amp

I think AMD would win the naming contest they'd probably retort with their flagships being AMDorito for the air cooled version, and AMDew for the watercooled variant.

Glycol over 150F or 65C will affect aluminum though which is a fun fact. But yeah...should be ignored as the fluid is glycerol based.
