A few things - Bought a somewhat low-end card instead of saving up for a better one. - Bought a board that doesn't support SATA 3.0 thinking i would never buy an SSD. - Cheaped out on the PSU.

I would say a low end Intel, such as the pentium g3258, because photoshop, lightroom, and your games will mostly benefit from stronger individual cores as opposed to AMD's which usually have more less powerful cores.

So i recently got a the Asus PA238qr and decided to do a dual display setup with my old monitor. Just to be clear, its not an eyefinity surround setup, i just used the extend feature in Windows' display settings to make another desktop on my other monitor. The problem is that both displays have been glitching. The old monitor will sort of stutter a little bit, usually when im scrolling. Not a big deal, but my new monitor will, out of the blue, go to a black screen with horizontal lines glitching out all over it and usually the only way to stop it is to put my computer in sleep and then wake it. Sometimes though, if i wait a few seconds after, the desktop will come back, but still be broken up into horizontal lines. This doesnt happen very often, usually only once or twice a day, and seems to happen when im scrolling down on chrome. Has never happened while gaming. Is this a problem with the way windows handles multiple displays or is it a graphics card issue? When i changed monitors, my pc wouldnt send signal to monitor and my keyboard wouldnt light up. Then i read somewhere that if you unplug it and then hold the power button for 30s, then plug it back it and turn it on it will work. It did and i still have no idea why.

I really have no use for a NUC, but its free, so why not.

One of the dvi ports on that card is only a single link and doesnt carry the analog signal needed for vga. try plugging it into the other dvi port.

Go to control panel > Device manager. If you right click a device and go to properties, then navigate to Power Management, check to see if it is allowed to wake the computer. It's usually the Network Adapter.

Oh. Well i just did a quick check on amazon and the first one i saw was 300.

My build isn't good by many people's standards(including mine), but considering how much money i put into it and the fact that it still can run console games better than the consoles themselves, i'm content with it for now. Once i get a job, ill be changing out most of my components to be able to get a build im truly proud of.

As someone who has recently taken up video editing, this would be a good replacement for my AMD 6-core, especially once i start doing some more intense stuff.
