  1. Hello, I've read various threads here and other sites on the issue but i sincerely can't wrap my head around it so i decided to ask bluntly I recently put a Samsung 850 Evo on my Mac as the main drive (the one where the OS and other things are stored) and i don't understand what are the advantages of having TRIM, if there are problem with this particular drive's TRIM and OSX, if it is enabled on my machine and if it isn't how to enable it. As you can see these are lots of interrogatives, i essentially popped the SSD in its place, made a clean install of the OS on the drive and dumped all the files that i needed on it. My end goal would be to keep the drive alive for as long as possible without drastic performance drops in the meantime. Somewhere i've read that TRIM shortens the life of the SSD but it keeps it fast the whole time but somewhere else i read that it is essential to having it enabled if you don't want your drive to live only for few years. Which is the truth? (Yes i also watched the FastAsPossible! ) As you can see on this screengrab of "Information about my Mac -> More info" (sorry for the Italian :P) it says that there isn't support for TRIM, does that mean that it's simply not enabled or that i can't have it doesn't exist yet for this specific model? If it's simply not enabled and i should enable it how do i do that? Sorry for the bajillion questions, if something is not clear let me know and i'll try put it more simply
  2. I need a powerful and nearly invisible computer under my living room tv to play those sweet sweet pc games
  3. I know that the LTT duo is out of the gaming loop but man saying that Microsoft won E3 this year reads almost like satire This year's E3 will be remembered by the game communities as one of the best thing ever thanks to Sony trifecta announcements (Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian, FF7R). I am surprised by the lack of Fury Nano talk which is in my opinion the best thing AMD showed since it brings back very high end card into small form factor, very very appealing product for some people. On the CPUs performance argument i wonder if Intel, knowing that Zen will be decently competitive against their offering, will have some surprise that makes people wow with Skylake.
  4. Oh my god please be real, i would cry if this happened to be true. I want this so much you have no idea, i really hate the bigger iPhones and with this i could have both a modern iPhone and one that is comfortable to me. Please Tim Cook made me love you.
  5. I'll be honest, i joined vessel only because i really like LTT and because there's the 1-year free trial, I absolutely support the idea and the philosophy behind launching into this new platform but after that free period i won't pay because i have this rule that if possible (and legal) i never pay for content on the internet. That being said i wanted to say that the platform is meh, the site is way more modern than Youtube but not always more modern equals to better... there are things that i still find better on YT; also the site is awfully heavy, not only their "HD" looks worse than YouTube but my mobile i7 sandy bridge (aka not exactly low end) heats like crazy when watching a video on vessel... and that's when using html5 too! I understand that these problems are out of your reach and more of the platform holder but hey, if vessel asks you guys for feedback you can totally tell them this stuff

  7. That was great, because of what Linus and Luke said on the WAN show i totally expected crashes  In the end as expected Linus won because of the Q6600... i guess i really have to replace my E8400 The series was absolutely great and the weekly format is ok, the nomenclature is fine too and sincerely i can't wait to see more of this.
  8. I'm loving this series, i wish we will see another scrapyard war in the future. My take on the winner is that Linus is gonna win this one, he has made the right decision/was lucky to pick a Q6600 and still finding an high end video card to add. Luke found a r9 290 which is a beast and surely has the edge over Linus' 7950 but the E8400 (which is my main CPU for gaming believe it or not... being poor sucks) will be an huuuuuuge bottleneck, the only way i can see Luke winning is that he has managed to catch a nice cooler for its CPU off camera so that he can overclock like hell. Just a curiosity, when this "contest" has took place?
  9. Luke for poop's sake why didn't you talk about all those wonderful Danbo things in the Cheero booth video? (Danbo is the cardboard box robot) Give me those wonderful Danbo batteries
  10. Let's see if i can get lucky once in my life... I would use this beast to upgrade from my C2D E8400 and it would be the right kickstart to also upgrade my Ati HD4830 (Yeah from the time it was still called Ati) and pretty much everything else with it. Yesterday i actually bought a game on Steam that i couldn't run because DX11 is required. Also totally unrelated but Luke is an handsome dude.
