if you are going to play games like farcry 4 , witcher 3 , arkham knight then go for fx 6300 i3 performs better in single threaded games . i3 can't even play games like witcher 3 where as you can play in low to med settings with an overclocked fx 6300 even linus chose fx 6300 over intel counterparts in that price range in his holiday buyers guide 2014 if you want to play new AAA titles from 2014-15 fx is a better option (most of them are optimised to use 6 or more cores)
