  1. keep in mind companies have to hire people that are able to maintain and add features to existing code, so these are most likely what theyre looking for: C/C++, Java, Javascript/Typescript, C# that said if i was looking to just learn something for myself, i would choose Rust
  2. sure if you want to ignore the reality and make your tier list on baseless opinions, go ahead. i gave you trusted sources and you choose to ignore them
  3. it IS representative. you just claimed that rtx 3070 is fine on 1080p ultra in a post above and this video clearly shows ITS NOT FINE. idk how much you watched of the video i linked but the fucking textures clearly disappear and appear again - thats insane to call as fine. its extreme example but this or stutter is whats going to happen when youre out of vram, you might or might not notice that now with 12gb but who the hell knows if 12gb is enough with upcoming games
  4. what you dont see in those numbers is the fuckery the game has to do to allow running with lower vram. it might affect texture quality despite having the same settings selected - the game runs smooth but doesnt look as it should heres one of the more extreme examples 8gb vs 16gb: https://youtu.be/Rh7kFgHe21k?t=547
  5. this video shows allocation and utilization separately, now if what you said was true why wouldnt it allocate 20+ gigs of the XTX since it would allow for more headroom and performance? https://youtu.be/V2AcoBZplBs?t=760 https://youtu.be/alguJBl-R3I?t=414
  6. do you live under a rock maybe? new games are getting to 12gb vram in 1080p
  7. 12gb on 4070 is not enough, and 4080 should also get more than 16gb
  8. the lan ports should also work in repeater mode, at least thats what quick google search suggests
  9. @jaslion you might want to consider not commenting on things you know nothing about @PhoKing it should be possible, maybe the repeater mode would work? https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1036082/ it would be helpful to know what exactly you want to achieve (why do you need to do this) so people can think of different solutions
  10. i dont know what youre doing but can you explain why your ssd is at 90+% usage, your network is downloading at 400+Mbps and your cpu is at 90+% usage - 5 MINUTES AFTER BOOTING THE PC? you should be showing whats taking the resources
  11. try reinstalling audio drivers downloaded from your motherboard vendor (not sure if you tried those, or maybe older version of them)
  12. so let me get this straight, the director told you to come pick up your pc, you didnt go and started telling them how to do their job better?
  13. why would you downgrade from w10 to w11
  14. if the answer from Kilrah and Eigenvektor isnt clear enough you have to word your question better
  15. you will never learn everything you need and then apply it. learn general best practices and patterns + more about the language/framework you intend to use. as a programmer you will always have to be learning new stuff to finish the work you have to do, thats why Saurons advice is good also, knowing details about how compiler works might not be useful to you at all
  16. Is there any good reviewer that compares the phone camera to real natural photos from high quality camera? It really doesnt tell me much when i see X phone vs Y phone without seeing the real image.
  17. unlucky, guess i wont watch youtube anymore for everyone saying VPN, thats not a good solution because then youre giving up the GDPR stuff that somewhat protects your data
  18. personally i think windows update is one of the worst parts of the system, they push patches that break stuff way too often. every bigger patch fucks with the audio settings. no good options to select which updates you want to install (like only security updates...)
  19. maybe compare to actual reviews instead of "thinking" that it should run on 144 fps
  20. @WolframaticAlpha 1) its not only about the base software youre getting from adobe, microsoft etc. but also about the files that you load into that software. Those usually dont come from as trusted sources, are far easier to compromise (ofc they still rely on exploits in said software). Also software nowadays uses auto update so you dont even need to be the one starting the download of compromised file (remember ASUS in 2019) 2) in the test most of them outperform ms defender, i dont know about their other characteristics like resource utilization/popups but im fairly certain you could find one thats not resource hog and doesnt have intrusive popups. by the way avast and avg were both better than ms defender in the performance test 3) yes, false positives are a problem but id rather have 6 more false positives than 1000 more missed detections 4) ms defender is at least something but there still are better solutions that are also free, so i dont see much reason to keep pushing defender as a good choice
  21. I see a bunch of dumb takes on AV software again. Lets start with trusted sources, what are those? Any of your trusted sources could be compromised at any time and you would not know about it until too late. Usually when they get exploited the news about it come weeks/months later. AV products useless and Microsoft Defender good enough? Lets take a look at the last time I had a discussion about it: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1208743-av-comparatives-antivirus-programs-in-2020-has-gotten-better-in-detecting-stalkerware/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-13724333 Missed cases over AVG and Avast: MS Defender offline detections missed: 3000+ MS Defender online detections missed: 1400+ MS Defender online protections missed: 10+ I really hope for the sake of MS Defender users that it got better since last year.
  22. ok buddy, did you actually read the email? it clearly says the tool had problems and that it would take time to fix+more time to actually send out all the messages
