  1. Wow thanks! Although it is has an IPS panel with the upgrade, have you had any first any experiences with it on this particular laptop? :] Edit: Hmmm, I think I will keep this option on my list for now until I really make my final decision.
  2. Hey guys/girls! I was looking for a gaming laptop under $1600 or preferably $1500 that would be used mostly for gaming and working. Although these specifications may not fit my budget, it would be great to be able to see my options. (I am open to upgrades that I could do manually or upgrades on websites like XOTIC PC.) 15.6" Matte Display with great viewing angles (preferably an IPS Display) Intel i7 4th or the new 5th generation processors NVIDIA GTX 970M 16 GB of RAM (if there is no entire way possible then 8 GB of RAM) At least 128 GB SSD (preferably a more like 256 GB) + any size HDD Any capacity of battery Any form factor or weight but preferably lighter and smaller but this is NOT a deal breaker what so ever Preferably good cooling Decently quiet under under at least medium load Decent trackpad Recently, I was looking at the brand new Gigabyte P55W 15.6" with aa 256 SSD and 1 TB hard drive at $1500 and a 970M which really appealed to me, but I heard that Gigabyte has a history of having noisy laptops. The website that was supplying it came with Batman Arkham Knight and an extra 8 GB of RAM adding to the 8 GB of RAM. It seems like an extremely good deal but I was just worried about the noise levels of it. http://www.excaliberpc.com/635108/gigabyte-p55w-bw1-256gb-15.6-gaming-laptop.html TL;DR: Do you guys/girls have any suggestions based on the specifications that I would like that would fit into my price range? Thanks! Chucksta (sorry for any spelling errors) c: Edit: The laptop I was looking at is also extremely new and I was hoping that some of their previous problems would be fixed. Edit 2: Some of Sager or Clevo's laptops semmed to have great value, but I have read over the internet that alot of their model's screens are terrible when non-upgraded.
  3. Prob your best chance OP or Ebay like @Wirbelfeld said.
  4. I doubt anyone here has that mouse, but I really don't think you can turn off the LEDs without unplugging it unless there is a software for the mouse. Basically there aren't any peripherals where you can turn off the LED without a software or unplugging it.
  5. Hot dam. Forgot about the velour earcups that come with the Clouds. They come with leather initially but in the box they have velour ear cups which will allow you to hear pretty much anything just like open heaphones. Idk why I forgot about the velour ones since I have the Clouds myself and they are great. So yea, you could probably just use the velour earcups since they are included so you can hear your daughter . Lastly, I wouldn't get the Cloud 2 as virtual surround is BS and there have been reviews with problems with the USB surround dongle and the $20 more is just not worth it just for "virtual" surround that will not do you any good.
  6. Yes. Optical is almost always better I'm pretty sure since it usually has less to know mouse acceleration compared to laser which will no matter what have inherited mouse acceleration. But if you use your mouse on glass, then a laser sensor will have the only advantage. Laser mice will track on all surfaces and optical will track on all except for glass EXTREMELY glossy surfaces AFAIK.
  7. Sowwy :[ don't worry, a brother or sibling can be both good and bad in someways. But, I live in the US and I assume you live in China. :] My parents are from Hong Kong which is in China as you obviously may know so I'm Asain too. Blocking out the haters...
  8. I would go for the HyperX Cloud 1 if you were to go with any of the Clouds because he is not playing any FPS games and the "virtual 7.1 surround sound" is the only upgrade you get from the Cloud 1 to the Cloud 2. So, the upgrade in OP's case is not worth it. BTW, the mics from both of the Clouds are detachable. Also, virtual surround is BS and surround sound only works when the speakers are actually a feet or few away. But, there are probably other options you could look at as well not saying the Clouds are bad as they still are very good.
  9. I have the Cloud 1 and the sound isolation is pretty good and it may be too good. I'm not sure what you would need to hear from your daughter, but it is kind of hard to tell if the sound isolation is too much or just right since I don't know what sounds you need to listen to. If it is okay, it would probably be good to tell us what sounds that you would need to hear.(I hope I'm not being rude and I don't intend to be. :]) Regardless, the HyperX Cloud is a very good headset but it is the only decent headset/headphone that I have actually had that actually sounds good. But, if it is completely necessary to hear what is around you, just get the Superlux's or any other open back headphone.
  10. I just ordered these for my brother a few days ago and I'm still waiting to see how well they preform!
  11. It doesn't mean the headphones aren't perfect lol. Its just the leather and many headphones have leather earcups as well. :] Also just wondering, its just the ear cups/pads themselves? Not the hinges for the whole earcup right?
  12. Ostry KC06? I have am planning on ordering these as they seem like a great option and have been positively mentioned a great number of times over at Head-Fi. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J86LDNU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. Ehhh, $125 might be a little to much I think as it is just a gift too . But more importantly, I saw some complaints of discomfort on the ear when the cable was to be tugged at all. They do apparently have amazing sound for a hybrid IEM. Another thing is that there are not many reviews or comments about them from what I have seen so I do not know if it would be worth taking the plunge for something that may vary in sound quality or turn out to break internally or externally.
  14. I'll look into these as well. There have been claims on durability issues on various reviews said by people on both reviews and videos. I am really sorry that I wasn't able to put multiple quotes in one post. When I tried to quote, he just redirected me to a page just for typing up the comment and I was not able to add another quote by going back to the post since I would lose the first quote. Thank you so far guys for helping me though. A few more posts and maybe I will finally make my decision!
  15. That isolation though. :[ It would be extra hard to hear around you with music playing even if the different tips are used. There were even some 4 star reviews on Amazon just and only because the isolation was way to much to even walk around on the street! LOL
