  1. Would a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black 140mm Air Cooler be inadequate for a 12900K? Or maybe EK AIO 360 D-RGB 360mm for 12900K? They are cheaper in comparison I think I picked the Asus Ryujin II because it was ready to go for 12900K and the others were not. Please let me know
  2. Thank you so much for your recommendations, I have sufficient storage for now for everything hence I have not put any amount into Storage, but thank you for adding that. Most of these parts I think I can get, except maybe the Founders Edition GPU. It is significantly cheaper to get the Founders Edition card but so difficult to acquire, there is only 1 place to get it and I honestly don't know if they are doing their jobs properly. Because technically I can get a 3090 at MSRP from that place but availability is the issue. Let me try and see if possible. One more question, do I really require a 1600W PSU? Can't I make do with 1200W? Or is that too risky? I have the following options currently (for now) Corsair HX 1200 Cooler Master V1200 Asus ROG Thor 1200p I really want to get Seasonic but they seemed to be unavailable for some reason
  3. Yes so that was my idea, upgrading a CPU 3 years down the line may not be feasible due to general cost that would typically go towards essentials and rent and other things. So my logic was that if I get DDR5 now, maybe I can just swap to faster RAM, if there are better sticks or update the mobo firmware.
  4. Hmmm that is what I was thinking, current GPU is failing but I think I can hold out for a bit longer without compromising my work. Can I assume 40 series may launch in July 2022 sometime, only an assumption of course. Thanks! Yes I understand that but I will not be able to upgrade later on, including a year or 2 from now so my assumption is to buy now so if I need to say change just the RAM sticks later I can upgrade it say 3 years down the line, like it would be easier right coz I don't have to change the motherboard for DDR5? Thanks!
  5. Ok understood, some Corsair AF120s maybe, I was thinking of Noctua NF-F12 but they maybe are too expensive. Also Inwin cases are ridiculously overpriced here, but I will look at some more cases and see what works. Thanks
  6. Hello @Somerandomtechyboi Thank you for your reply, could you recommend me a pc parts list instead of what I have chosen so I can better understand where you are coming from, it would be most appreciated. I selected these parts since I cannot upgrade a single component for atleast 4 - 6 years. Would be most appreciated if you could recommend your alternative parts. Regarding the Overclock, I currently cannot overclock my PC as I am facing lots of heat output, I was unfortunate not to hit the silicon lottery and could not overclock beyond 4.1GHz for my CPU, even then any higher loads tend to cause my CPU to thermal throttle and it has also started failing, BSODs and in general lots of crashes. Regarding my GPU, it is officially failing, with constant artifaction and system hangs with or without OC. I also live in India so the ambient temps are also very high relative to the States, usually around 32C on average and I do not have access to an AC unit in my home so I cannot maintain cooler temps. Thanks
  7. Also any advice on whether I should wait for the 40 series or buy the 3080Ti asap? Stock is low and prices are high. But I can afford to wait for a bit. Atleast till my current system fails
  8. Hello Ahmad! Thank you for the suggestion, any particular reason for the switch?
  9. Budget (including currency): INR 380,000 (approx $4985) Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Gaming, Streaming, Photoshop, Illustrator, Video Editing with DaVinci Resolve & light VFX work (Silhouette, After Effects) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): CPU: Intel i7 5930K Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX AIO Mobo: Asus X99 Deluxe RAM: 4X8GB DDR4 2666 MHz G.Skill GPU: MSI Gaming 6G 980Ti 6GB GDDR5 PSU: Seasonic X-850 80 Plus Gold Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Hey Guys, So I need some help planning for my next build, I have been saving up for a long time and although I don't have the full amount for the next build, it might become a necessity as my current system is dying. GPU, CPU and PSU (maybe) failing. My current build is mentioned above. I was considering this for the next build however I have no clue if I should wait or pull the trigger now. I might "HAVE" to upgrade soon due to the failing components, but I think I can get a temporary system for work so not all is lost. I am planning for the following components, any advice would be appreciated. Planned Build CPU: Intel i9 12900K Cooler: Asus Ryujin II 360 GPU: nVidia RTX 3080Ti OR wait for RTX 4080? Mobo: Asus Z690 Strix - E Gaming RAM: 2X16GB G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 6000MT/s PSU: Cooler Master V1200 1200W 80 Plus Platinum Case: Fractal Design Meshify S2 Thank you all for reading.
  10. Looks like I had seen the wrong numbers and panicked. The fans are working fine. Under full load it shows 71 degrees. I'm such an idiot! Thanks a ton for your help. Sorry for wasting your time
  11. It was working all along. I had just seen the wrong numbers and panicked! I'm such an idiot. It runs at 71 degrees max under full load. Sorry for wasting your time! Sorry. Thanks a ton for all your help
  12. Ok. Yes I'm assuming that the fans are not working for some reason. Will check it and get back to you guys. No I can get parts here, but the RMA process is painful and takes way way too long. So I want to be sure I can fix it before I send it for RMA Thanks for helping out!
  13. No I don't think it's a GPU issue. Idle temps are 40-45. I'll try the fan curves and see if things work out. I think the fans are not operating for some reason. Will do a through check before sending it back. I live in India. RMA is an absolute pain. I'll check and see tonight and figure out the root cause and then take a call. I think the fans aren't spinning. Thanks a ton. Will update in the evening after my office gets over.
  14. I'm using an NZXT Phantom 530, no blockage of any kind. Removed all the drive cages except 1. It's clear.
  15. No I haven't, should I? Is it necessary? Doesn't the app do it on its own?
  16. Hey guys, recently bought an MSI GTX 980Ti Gaming 6G card and it seems to reach 98 degrees Celsius when playing GTA V maxed out with 4X MSAA. I used the MSI gaming app to put it in OC mode. Ambient temperature was 23 degree Celsius Do I have to click on the fan button as well to make it Cooler. Sorry if I'm not clear on it. I'll be posting screen shots later on in the day. Until then can someone explain me how to use the app properly and not have my card explode! Edit- 1080p resolution
  17. I suggest you figure out what you will primarily be using the GPU for. If it's going to be a workstation for work most of the time then a Quadro will be perfect for it(compute tasks, VFX, Animation, Editing etc) and gaming is a just a casual hobby for in between breaks or an hour or two a day, it won't matter. If you will be gaming most of the time and doing work related stuff less on your system buy a decent geforce card. Quadro only for work! Geforce for gaming! Also if you don't really require the ECC memory, 10bit color etc a geforce will still be quite awesome at VFX, Animation, editing, content creation etc. It will still be reliable and fast plus you can game. If you require extreme stability and precision that most proper work requires then Quadro all the way
  18. I'm currently using a Quadro K4000, its absolutely amazing as a workstation GPU, extremely reliable, can take the brunt of it and is overall fantastic for rendering, compute tasks, VFX, editing, animation etc... Gaming, you can play pretty much all games at high/very high settings at 1080p, no AA with about 35-45 FPS. But I paid a boat load of money for that card for my workstation. You can buy a cheaper "gaming" geforce card and it'll demolish the Quadro for gaming. As a side hobby gaming with a decent Quadro will be fine. Just fine.
  19. Hey guys, I checked out the reviews for the NZXT H440, but seems to starve your air supply. I live in India and the summers can get quite hot. So I wanna make sure that there is as much air flow as possible. I'm thinking of going for the Corsair 750D itself. I can't get the Phanteks brand here. Also too expensive to import. If there are better solutions in Cooler Master please let me know. Also for the PSU, I can't buy the Corsair AX860i, its too expensive here. I'll try finding it for cheaper rates. Also is the Seasonic X850, Cooler Master V850 not worth the money/bad. I checked out reviews in Jhonny Guru, they seem to be really good PSUs. Let me know your opinions. Thanks a lot guys!
  20. Thanks for the recommendations and suggestions guys, really appreciate it. If you guys have any more suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Thanks a lot I want to keep the quadro but I have to sell my current desktop to be able to afford the new upgrades. Unfortunate circumstances. Thanks for the suggestion
  22. I'm a little concerned with VFX stuff though. I currently have a Quadro, its great for that but terrible at gaming as expected. Hence the 980Ti but if its gonna limit it I don't know what to do. I can't afford a Titan X. Was hoping to get your guys opinion on the VFX capabilities. I use After Effects, Blender, a little bit of 3DS Max, Fume FX.
