Gontier got a reaction from Tedster in New EVGA Pro SLI bridges advertised to improve gaming
Does an SLI bridge affect performance? Apparently the guys over at EVGA seem to believe they do. They are boasting a handful of "next generation" features on their new upcoming SLI bridges. Is this a marketing ploy or can this actually be proven? Decide for yourself:

EVGA has amped up the bling with the new EVGA PRO SLI BRIDGE V2. These redesigned bridges come with several improvements over the previous generation SLI bridges. Not only do these new bridges light up and look great on select graphics cards, they also have a high quality aluminum shroud and are optimized for the next generation display resolutions and refresh rates, with a high pixel clock frequency design that gives best [sic] performance for 120Hz+ and 4K+ gaming!
Seperate models to support 2-Way (Short), 2-Way (Standard), 3-Way SLI or 4-Way SLI. High pixel clock design optimized for 4K+ and 120Hz+ gaming. EVGA logo illuminates on select GeForce GTX graphics cards. Compatible with all SLI enabled graphics cards. Looks super awesome!

That's why I thought it was funny. I have never seen anyone associate this term with an SLI bridge, which is essentially just a ribbon cable connector.

I don't read PC Gamer because they have an agenda, but I agree. The whole "master race" thing is cringeworthy. Most of the content of this forum echoes that. Weeaboo attention whores, bronies, and 30 year old virgins still living with their parents spewing unfunny memes and abusing capslock. I left this forum all the same for the most part when I got tired of reading a dozen Ubisoft related threads each day.

I have a PC that cost me as much as a car and it is not superior in all aspects over a console. Both sides have advantages and that is the "truth". Stop using words when you don't understand the context that they should be used in. Your opinion is not truth nor is it a fact. The topic is about association with the "master race" circlejerk, not another console tech versus PC tech thread.

5760x1080 reporting in. Most optimal IMO. No need for 120MHz monitors because you won't get over 120 FPS on Ultra settings at such a resolution. Better instead to invest in IPS monitors and go for a solid 60FPS. The FOV really grows on you. I can't play MMOs on my laptop anymore because 1920x1080 is just too small for me now.

Thanks for posting but.......You could have added this post to the NUMBER of threads already made on this.
Far too many threads already exist on this forum about this, yet people make new threads instead of adding to existing ones.

Making a thread about a thread. Wow this totally deserves it's own topic. Can we make another thread to talk about this phenomenon?

Actually thats what you call the friendzone.

You see, you can't be dating if you're the only one that believes this, regardless of whatever you think attributes towards dating. The whole basis of a relationship is two people, not one, acknowledging that they are together. If I went by your logic, I could say that I'm the pope.

Gontier got a reaction from s4spencer in Do multi-monitor setups give you more viewing space?
Yes it does. With an increased resolution some games give you a larger FOV. I run my surround setup in 5760x1080, very comfortable once you get used to it. Whether playing an MMO up close with mouse and keyboard, or a racing simulator or FPS on the couch with a console. Most games will automatically scale to your default resolution, some games will not support it natively though and it will just be a stretched 1920x1080 picture. You can also play in 1920x1080 and use your other monitors as side monitors no problem. There are lots of tools and easy fixes to mod games. Flawless Widescreen is one of the best programs to help fix issues with old games.

Tomb Raider does support surround. Here's a picture I took:

Why are people still talking about this? By now people should realize that they are looking for attention because PC gamers are so vocal about everything. Boycott, ignore and move on.

Think of the children! All that violence on TV and games is great... but a nipple? That could damage them severely. When I lived in the US the key to adult content was whispering to a store clerk or something, psst, dark room behind the counter? Europe? Top-shelf of a grocery store.

Think of it as having a single desktop in two pieces, as opposed to having a desktop and a laptop. You can use your laptop on the go for smaller tasks, and at home use the same computer to play some games. The external box isn't really meant to be carried.

No. The disc usually just has the installation files. Once it is installed onto your hard drive you can run it as is. Most games stopped requiring a CD in the drive bay around 2007. I haven't seen a game in years that has required a CD to play. External optical drives that run off USB work perfectly fine, ASUS makes some of the best ones.

Not likely in this case. The next generation of nVidia cards should be on a completely different process.
