  1. Also something to keep in mind is I'm going to only be using the surround setup to run iRacing and other racing sims everything else will only be done on the single monitor.
  2. So I'm looking to upgrade to 1440p for all 3 of my monitors, I am currently running one 1440p monitor and 2 1080p monitors on the sides and I currently have a gtx 970. I know that the gtx 1080 would obviously be better for gaming with that triple screen set up but I am wondering if the 1070 would still do the job just fine since it is 80% of the performance at a lower cost. Just wondering if anyone is running this right now and what they think and if it's worth it to just bite the bullet and get the gtx 1080. I also have a 4790k but that is also going to upgraded to a 7700k along with this.
  3. Lol thanks for the tip! but it's my only keyboard so I'd rather just fix it myself (wish I wouldn't have donated all my other computer stuff now).
  4. Hello all, I have a Corsair K70 with mx blue switches and the very left hand side keys stopped working (esc, squiggly line thing, tab, caps lock, left shift, and left control) and I have reinstalled the driver and even have tried it on my macbook pro with no luck. The switches themselves appear to be clean but when pressed they seem to make a different sound than all the other keys, and the led's still work perfectly fine. Just wondering if anyone has this issue or do I need to replace the switches or what the case might be. Thanks in advance!
  5. I was in the exact same boat with my amd 6300 and I had the same 970 gigabyte card as you and I couldn't overclock it at all without crashing. I have since upgraded to a 4790k with Z97 and now I can overclock it to the same clock speeds as some other people are getting with the same card. You don't need the i7 the i5 4690k would be perfect as well I imagine if you wanted to save a little bit of money.
  6. Thank you guys so much! I just finished doing the spacer thing and it dropped the temps by about 5-10 degrees depending on the load. When I first installed it I was kind of concerned with how loose the backplate felt but now I guess that makes sense. Thanks again!
  7. I have the exact same set up (4790k with a h100i) and those are about the temps I get now. I actually had a thread going on it because the temps I was getting before seemed way too high and as it turns out on ASUS Z97 motherboards you have to put spacers (I used washers) to get a better seat on the CPU and that dropped my temps by 5-10 degrees depending on the load. Something to keep in mind I guess.
  8. Where did you get said spacers? I'm guessing they have to be plastic.
  9. I should say that the low idle temps were during the winter and I usually keep it very cold in my place just because I'm weird lol. But I have reapplied thermal paste a few times but next time I do I will use the "pea" method as mentioned in another post.
  10. Lol ya I thought it was pretty high for being AIO cooled and no overclock at all....I guess I should mention is I never tried to stock intel cooler because as you said "meh" lol but I know the cooler works good because I had it on my old CPU.
  11. I currently have no overclock at the moment I wanted to sort this out before I did any of that. And under load they can reach as high as 70-80.
  12. Hello, first time posting so be gentle, but anyway I just bought a new motherboard, cpu, memory upgrade. The CPU is a 4790k and the motherboard is a ASUS Maxumus VII Formula and I am using my H100i cooler on it. However, the temps seem to hover around 35-40 degrees at idle...just seems to high for me especially since I had the exact same cooler on my older AMD 6300 and it ran at about 18 degrees at idle. I'm also using arctic silver 5 applied in the "uncooked grain of rice" method. So I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with my set up and what can be done to make the temps seem a bit more normal. Thanks in advance!

  14. I love mine the ONLY complaint I have is that the LED is not RGB.....I have a very red themed build.....there is a LED mod that I'm considering doing but yaaaa dont really wanna mess with that....but other than that I love the scroll wheel especially how easy it is to change from click scroll to free scroll (makes never ending reddit usable with a quick flick) another this is I can't get the G-Shift function to work for dpi changing....but that's not too big of a deal to me other than that the mouse is perfect
  15. I bought my first SSD which was an OCZ Vortex II I believe about three years ago and the first one died like 2 weeks after using it (actually died just when I was showing off how fast it booted....that guy hasn't bought one since), so I sent it away and got another one back which died after a month of use for some unknown reason, then I sent it away again and got a new one back and that one is now running strong in my macbook pro and seems to have no issues however I have time machine set up on it and back it up every single chance i get just in case. My SSD I have in my desktop now is a Samsung 840 Evo and it is by far the best drive I've ever had with not one single problem and even faster than the old one but currently debating getting another one just to have the bigger storage. So yeah moral of the story.....2 SSD's have died on me but just for lolz I checked tigerdirect (where i bought it from) when I was having all these issues and the EXACT same drive was listed at like $10,000 dollars......sooooo I'm guessing they didn't want anyone buying that drive at all.
