  1. I believe direct fiber to house because they are advertising 1000mbps up and down.
  2. Hey. So I'm getting a new fiber connection next month and want to upgrade my network while I'm at it. Unfortunately the ISP is AT&T. I fought with them in store and on phone, but they don't allow you to use your own modem. You must use their modem/router combo. I've read online you might be able to force it into a bridge mode although it isn't supported. I don't trust their device at all, but should I put up and use it as is and just connect it to my switch, or should I try to bypass it and hook a ubiquity router between the modem and my network? Below is a map of my network.
  3. Linus just did a video on it. As far as i understand, nothing will be hurt, and if you already have the equipment, i would try it.
  4. So I'm very new to unraid. I got it set up, and I tried following the space invaders tutorial on how to encrypt drives. I got a disk encrypted, but now I'm not able to add it to any of my shares, and it appears somehow I made it into a "disk share". I just want it to be a normal disk to add my normal shares to. How do I fix this. I have images below to show what I'm talking about. Whenever i google it, it just shows how to remove disk from the array. Any help would be great! Thanks!
  5. So today at my grandpa's, his neighbor came and asked him what this transformer was, as my grandpa was an electrician. It's a hs19f1a. 120/240 to 12/24 1.5KVA. It was a spare for an old tanning bed he never used. Online they seem to go for a couple hundred, but we arnt sure where we could sell it. Is there a market somewhere for used specialty electrical equipment? Only use we can think of is low voltage lighting.
  6. I'm looking to upgrade my home network to 2.5gig. I am upgrading to synchronous fiber gigabit this summer, and want to upgrade while I'm at it. I'm finding tons of pci cards for my PC's, but what about switches. I've heard you can find them pretty cheap, but don't want to buy anything that sucks or won't be worth it in the long run. Should it be managed or unmanaged also. Any help would be great! Thanks
  7. the old drivers will suck cus ill need some networking card, and win 98 is horrible with networking, and if it will even support my internet.
  8. So I just got out of school and have time to mess around now, and thinking of something to do I'm gunna do a scrapyard wars thing of my own with all the pcs I have out in my barn. They're all old hardware, but I just wana see what I can do. I've got a bunch of Pentium 2 and 3 processors, and I know how to do all the hardware, but I'm not really sure how to do the software for all of this. I know how to do it on all my new hardware with iso ,ect, but is it the same process on this hardware. Does it even support USB booting? and Ive been looking for a Win98 ISO but they all seem fake. Does anyone know about working with software on this kind of stuff? Also I'm planning on Either Pentium II 350 or Pentium III 450, both being Slot 1 The best ram I can get from my huge pile of it. Best motherboard out of a large selection I have IDE Drive, Floppy, and Disk drive. Any help would be great. Thanks
  9. How would i flash it if i cant get into the recovery mode?
  10. I was searching and I found something about how the S3 had problems with SanDisk SD Cards. There is a SanDisk in it. Would that cause this problem?
  11. Download mode doesn't do anything. Just loops back. I'm from the US. She said that its been popping up saying that there was something wrong with memory but she just kept clicking ok. The model number that's behind the battery is SPH-L710. Its a Sprint phone
  12. I'm trying to fix one of my friends phones. Its a S3 and I think its in a boot loop. I don't have to much android experience, but from what I know I think its a boot loop. It comes on and says Samsung, and if I try to do power+volume+home it says recovery booting in the top corner. Instead of starting that though, it just stops, so I cant get into recovery mode. I'm trying to get ADB logcat running on my PC, but I'm new to android (I'm a Windows phone Developer). I'm not sure if its something simple like the power button is being held down like she thought it was originally, or if its something like the rom is corrupt. I know I should clear the cache in recovery mode but I cant get to it. Any ideas?
  13. I'm a heavy windows phone user and honestly I wouldn't get any right now. With windows 10 right around the corner new Microsoft phones are going to be announced. the increase of performance with these new phones should be really good. If you want one now though, I have the Lumia Icon and I love it, and I also have the HTC 8x. I think Lumia's are by far better than any other brand. Just remember that the 5xx, 6xx, 7xx, and so on are their performance. The higher the better (typically).
  14. I don't know what the chances are but I think this would be a cool project for me and my dad because he has a bunch of fish tanks and this would be a cool thing to build with him. Probably will buy all new parts for it but mini atx maybe. Don't really have a preference. And to Puget. This is just a huge troll. Hate that stuff like this happens to people just trying to have fun.
