There I fixed it for you.

Keep in mind that a few years ago, the GeForce GTX 980 was $549, and people were shocked by the high price.
So all Nvidia did is play the game, of mass overpricing their 2000 series, only to simply overprice a bit less their 3000 series, making you forget about the real price of what it was before and make you think it is a fantastic deal. It's not.

Or maybe Nvidia is keeping a card up their sleeve.

Remember there are confirmed reports from AIB sources of a "3080" with 20gb of gddr6x.

From $699 to $1499 is nice "little" gap to drop a 3080ti with 20gb of gddr6x in at $999.

Which really sucks for me as I need to decide whether I wait for this 20gb 3080 to drop or pull the trigger on the titan, I mean 3090.

I was fully prepared to buy the 3090 for the rumored $1399, but then then they announced the 3080 for $100 less then rumored and the 3090 for $100 more.

I smell a 3080ti rDNA 2 killer in the weeds.

    I disagree.

They showed this slide before they started talking about RTX performance for the 3000 series(and the footnote states average performance at 4k).

I'm going to be optimistic here and say that the 3070 does match the 2080ti, without including RTX.

Of course wait for benchmarks and all, but even if this isn't the case and the 3080 is more in-line with the 2080ti performance, then the 2080ti's price still drops dramatically to $500-$600 or so, because again, why buy a used GPU when a brand new one with the same or better performance can be had for not much more?

They showed some performance numbers during the event but even more importantly, Digital Foundry has released a video.
Seems like the 3080 performs ~70-100% better than the 2080. That's both in games that use RTX, and in games that don't use RTX.

I'll wait for AMD's response before judging if AMD's gonna get "decimated" or whatever. Can't say I'm too pleased with that pricing structure.

My guess is Nvidia probably has some idea how the NAVI 2 and the upcoming AMD GPUs will perform. They have to keep their RTX 3000 price in check. It's a good sign.

Welcome to the world of computer hardware.
You shouldn't be salty about someone buying something later than you getting better value.

The problem for me is the vram.
The 3080 has the performance I like but I use more than 10gbs now.
So it looks like I will be still buying $1500 cards.

I wouldn't buy one for more than $400.

Why buy a used(and potential miniing card) for X amount when there's a brand new card, for the same performance, for $500? New warranty/support, updated tech, etc.

EChondo got a reaction from panzersharkcat in Worlds First 360Hz Monitor Detailed & Launching in September 2020
Well considering the monitor is marketed as "Esports", then it's probably for people competing in tournaments with 2080ti's/Titans and 10900k's playing CS:GO, Valorant, etc. at bare bones graphics settings.

This monitor isn't exactly meant for consumers, just the 1% of people playing video games. Plus you probably won't see a 360Hz 1440p panel for another couple of years.

And besides that, 1080p is still a very good resolution...why hate on it? Keeps performance requirements and costs down a bit, especially when people who would buy this monitor certainly won't be using 1440p and will probably run their games in 1280x960 for 4:3 and upscale it...

I'm using a S2719DGF and loving the 27"/1440p due to the real-estate, but if I could have a higher refresh rate then I would take it. 360Hz would probably be my cap(well 240Hz would be I think, but 360Hz is a good buffer for 99% of people out there in my opinion).

Also 1080p wasn't common in early 2000's, I still had 1680x1050 and 1440x900 monitors well into the mid-2000's...
