In the past 5 or so years, video format "news" and "reviews" has turned into entertainment, filler, and ads.

So, most of my news is from websites now.

    https://arstechnica.com/

    https://www.techpowerup.com/

And of course Reddit or Lemmy alternatives.

There's plenty of other websites as well, but I stay away from YouTube now.

I can only see that you have the game installing to C:\XboxGames but the download/installer is looking in C:\Program Files\...

I would maybe search in Google for "installing Game Pass games not in default directory" or something similar.

I don't have Game Pass so I can't troubleshoot it directly

A lot of these types of channels are more or less glorified ad networks that prey on peoples' parasocial relationships.

My advice is to stay away from channels that feed you information, and instead focus on selecting which information is important to you.
Instead of constantly being bombarded with info about let's say TV models, use your TV until you feel like you need a new one, and then look up relevant information at that time through Google searches.

This let's you be in control of what's shown to you, instead of letting a massive corporation decide what you should be interested in.
It will most likely also cause you to buy less things you don't actually need, and appreciate the things you already have more since you won't constantly be told about how other things are better.

Really should change the requirements, maybe filter it to where only one entry per IP address. So people can't create multiple accounts for multiple entries.

EChondo reacted to LAwLz in Office 2022 to have a one time purchase
A retail Windows 10 (home) copy costs 130 dollars, not 300.
It's 200 dollars if you buy the retail Windows 10 Pro directly from Microsoft. OEM version are even cheaper as you said. You don't even have to buy it from a sketchy gray market. You can buy a brand new OEM copy of Windows 10 Pro from Walmart for 60 dollars.

So the whole "it would take 5 years to get to that in monthly payments" is more like 12 to 22 months.

Besides, Windows 10 was released in 2015. So if we are going to compare monthly payments vs one-time payments then the breakdown would have looked like this:
One-time payment: 60 dollars and it is free forever.
Subscription: I would have paid 360 dollars so far and an additional 72 dollars every year I want to keep using Windows 10.

Not a good deal. Companies aren't pushing for consumer subscription services because they are kind and it is good. They do it because the companies behind it wants to make more money and earn it in a predicable stream rather than in big chunks. Simple as that.

Newegg is a chinese owned company.  Wouldnt be surprised (as mentioned above) if their desktop prebuilt lineup (I cant remember which one on their website they own, like Rosewill is actually Newegg company) was forecasted, and then dismantled and sold as individual cards.

Nvidia released the drivers to AIBs at the last minute. No time to do changes. It was a rushed released. It is clear that Nvidia really wanted to capitalize every single day before AMD releases their GPU. Which, to me, is still shocking on why they are panicking that way.

So the affectedtd AIBs are going BELLOW specs from Nvidia. I would say: Return the card now!
No buts! The card was improperly built to specification, you, as a consumer, been had. If they cut there, they probably cut at other places too.
Return it, and buy from a AIB that doesn't cheat its customers. If you don't, you essentially agree that it is OK for manufactures to sales you overpriced crap.

For most people in the world, people are still in their return window. There will NOT be a recall. Cost too much. The affected manufacture will release a vBIOS which will gimp the GPU abilities to 'solve' the problem.

    update from jacob from evga
https://forums.evga.com/Message-about-EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-POSCAPs-m3095238.aspx In the buildzoid video he said they are not POSCAPs which are a specific pansonic product line they are SPCAPs which the higher end ones perform better than POSCAPs. But he agrees the mlcc caps are better for filtering and having multiple of them in parallel makes them even better. And he said he thinks we should blame nvidia instead of the board partners because nvidia has to approve all of the boards and they allowed the board partners to do this. Also he noticed some of the cards with mlccs cheaped out on the other SPCAPs.

Der8auer replaced the spcaps with mlccs and it solved the crashing problem which confirms that it is at least a major contributing factor.

Yikes this launch is sort of a mess. If you are experiencing crashing try underclocking a little and if you are buying a card look out for the ones with bad cap layouts. Idk why nvidia felt the need to rush this launch by this extent. Also sort of strange manufacturers would put low quality caps in a high end gpu and how much do they even save on that?

Edit: I looked up how much they cost and apparently they cost $0.00293 per unit if you buy them in bulk of 10,000+ ...
so you need 10 to replace an SPCAP and theres 6 SPCAPS so thats 60*$0.00293= $0.1758 ... at most they are saving 1.758* cents per card WTF

and actually thats if they replaced all the SPCAPs with MLCCs they only need 2 so they are saving $0.0058

How does that justify anything when their whole argument to the public was about giving users freedom of choice on their devices? It goes against their argument by removing Rocket League from Steam and making it an exclusive on their own store. And we're suppose to trust they're doing this for the best interests of the consumer and not their own pocketbooks?
