  1. I'm not sure about going from 1280x1024 to 1920x1080, but you could look at TechPowerUp's reviews for GTX 950's like this Gigabyte GTX 950 card: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GTX_950_Xtreme_Gaming/ They do benchmarks in 1600x900, 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and 3840x2160 resolutions in multiple games. So you can see what performance differences there are going from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 at least, but keep in mind they use a i7-4770k as their CPU. You could also look at a Tom's Hardware review for a ASUS GTX 950: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/asus-geforce-gtx-950-strix,4270.html They have benchmarks for 1366x768 and 1920x1080. 1366x768 is a lower resolution pixels wise than 1280x1024, so it might be a closer comparison, but they use a i7-5930k. Not the best comparisons, but it's the best I can find. I'd probably guess there would be at least a 15-30fps difference going from 1280x1024 to 1920x1080. Best of luck!
  2. I recommend DS4Windows: http://ds4windows.com/ I use this with my DS4 using USB, though it does allow Bluetooth connections as well. I haven't found a game so far that it doesn't work with unless the game doesn't support controllers at all. I don't own Battlefront so I can't test that, but if Battlefront allows X360 controllers, then DS4Windows should help you in that regard since it emulates the X360 controller's XInput method to essentially trick games into thinking it's a X360 controller. Works really well with Dying Light, Rocket League, and Lego Star Wars so far. If it doesn't occur with only one or two games, then I'd recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU) and then install your GPU drivers again. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html DDU will ask you to boot into safemode in Windows and it'll uninstall your GPU drivers completely, like as if you just installed Windows for the first time, and then you can boot back into Windows and install your drivers again. If that doesn't fix it then I don't know what else could be causing it, might want to post in the troubleshooting section for more advice.
  3. Depending on the game, you can check PCGamingWiki and it'll tell you where the savegame location is. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home If the game is not on there then you can do what @Naeaes suggested above by looking in those areas he/she mentioned. Usually games save under the "My Documents" area in their own folder or in "My Games" under My Documents, otherwise you'd have to check in the %appdata% section in Windows. Very few games I have found actually save in their own folders under Steam.

    Bye

Hello Trikein, While we understand that for whatever reason you want to leave the linustechtips.com community forum, creating a thread announcing your departure only creates unnecessary drama when and if you ever decide to return. If the purpose of your post was to send feedback to the administration and moderation team, then please PM an admin or a moderator with your feedback or post it in the official forum suggestions sub-forum here: https://linustechtips.com/main/forum/81-feature-suggestions/ Locked
  5. Since this is in the PC Gaming sub-forum I'm assuming this is strictly for PC. So, I would highly advise AGAINST buying Battlefront, why? This is why: http://swbstats.com/ Only about 3k-6k people on, daily, on PC. And it's still dwindling. The game is considered dead at this point and not worth the $30 or so they are asking when it's on sale. I would recommend getting the Fallout 4 Season Pass, especially when they are raising the price of it March 1st to $50. I think $30 for the content they say they are including is a pretty good steal for it. This coupled with the fact that modding tools are rumored to come out in April then the game should "explode" with content from all sides, and some of the mods would probably require some of the DLC. You can get the Season Pass for about $24 on GMG with their 20% off coupon: http://www.greenmangaming.com/ As for other games I'd recommend, if you can find Battlefield 4+Premium on sale, you can usually snag that for $15-$20 and it still has a pretty healthy PC playerbase: http://bf4stats.com/ You can also get The Division for $42 on GMG: http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/action/tom-clancys-division/ but it's a Uplay key, not a Steam key. The game requires Uplay no matter where you buy it, but if you wanted to see it in your Steam library then you'll have to buy it from Steam directly. Some people have been loving Rainbow Six Siege, and you can get that for $40 on GMG or around $36 on G2A. I don't like it because I have had a lot of server issues during a free weekend they did. So if it works for you then you'll probably love it. I don't know how big the playerbase is though.
  6. A lot of the Final Fantasy OST's are amazing, even though I've never touched any of their games before.
  7. I doubt this would be anything huge. Probably update the resolution, fix some textures, add a few more effects and done! We don't need that on PC, we have hundreds of mods that do "HD" things to Fallout 3 already on the Nexus.
  8. Yes! YES! YEEES!! Hurry up! Kill hard drives already!
  9. Nope; He's right below the 16 mark for his personal rig and there's tons more space above it in the next shot. It's half-rack cabinet, 24U.
  10. When Twitter announced their changes the other day I knew in the back of my head that this would happen. Honestly I'm not surprised. I don't use Twitter anyway(I have an account, never really use it), so this doesn't effect me directly. For shame Twitter.
  11. I was curious as well, I'm 99% sure it's a Norco C-24U: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133052 You can tell by the design in the front.
  12. Hello Peter, unfortunately there's not much else you can do to upload your videos faster except compressing the video more with Handbrake(might decrease video quality) and/or get a better internet package. You could also record in 720p60fps, so you retain the smooth framerate on your videos and decrease the file size in the progress. I don't know many people who watch videos in 1080p or higher, I personally watch everything in 720p since there's no difference to me when watching a video. Your call on this one. I would do some testing and see what the file sizes are like and if you can spot any differences in quality when comparing a 1080p and 720p recording. There's not much else I can suggest personally. Best of luck!
  13. Ordering one now. PS, I don't have kids. *Edit, might have to cut some holes, but this is what I'm shooting for;
  14. This game is $3, but it goes down to $2 on sale: http://store.steampowered.com/app/360740 Really good if you like the rogue-lite genre!

    Mics for YT

There's two I'd look into. The Blue Yeti: http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Yeti-USB-Microphone/dp/B002VA464S And the AT2020: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-PLUS-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00B5ZX9FM I would also recommend getting a windscreen/popfilter for the mic, to help prevent dust from getting into the mic and help remove some background noise/pops from talking, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Shure-A58WS-BLK-Windscreen-Microphones-Black/dp/B0006NMUK4/
  16. Yeah good point, it's easy to blame the console side when the dev/pub side is ultimately at fault. I've been boycotting a lot of AAA games as of late because of this too. As for crowd-funding, I've only ever crowd-funded one game and that's Yooka-Laylee, which at the £175k mark allows a PC(Win/Mac/Linux) release and console releases will come later, but at the £1mill allows all platforms to be released day one. That's a little over five times as much needed for console day one as compared to PC day one. So it takes a lot more money to release on console and if the project isn't budgeted right then something has to suffer, which is really poor decision making on dev/pub part but it's very hard to not blame consoles when it comes to this issue since the PC side is almost always the side that suffers because of this. Touche. Good point.
  17. My family and I have been using T-Mobile for probably a decade at this point. It's a mixed plan of everyone having unlimited text, one person having unlimited calling(everyone else has 200 minutes or so), and for data everyone has 5GB's of 4G and then unlimited 2G/3G when 4G runs out. Not sure how much the bill is, but it's probably over $100 since we're a family of five.
  18. Oooh, yeah, if you're running low on Unsealing Charms then you really need to fix that, which can be costly. You should be only unsealing weapons that you need for breakthrough/evolution, don't waste charms on Soul Shields. Here's a google spreadsheet(not made by me) that has the recommended Soul Shield for leveling(just do the "Core Soul Shield" stuff): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xh_3skufFEDIUADVqtfV9MQMBhRlMxX1KeEeea2v_88/edit#gid=0 So at level 24 you should be using the Viridian Valor stones one, if not that's okay, you can go straight to Yehara's Mirage and get the Cinderlands Valor stone Soul Shield OR go behind Yehara's Mirage and get the Pinchy Soul Shield(giant scorpion). If you want, I can mail you 10 Unsealing Charms for free. I just need your in-game name for your character, you can PM me the name if you prefer. As for other tips, these might be useful to you(just click on any of the links under the "New Player" category): https://www.reddit.com/r/bladeandsoul/wiki/new_players As for personal tips from me, you really got to be stingy with your keys and unsealing charms and do every blue/yellow quest you can. If there's a dungeon you can't do, just press F8 and search for a party in the dungeon matchmaking section, it's much easier to do a dungeon with six people instead of by yourself.
  19. Where you at in the game? Level? What supplies are you lacking? If you're F2P and are at least level 16 you can buy tradeable stuff off of the in-game Market(F5).
  20. Oh I totally agree with you. Steam has been pretty stagnant with new features/updates for their client/store, Origin has been quite slower but also doesn't have any issues from how much I used it, and Uplay got a major face lift for their client, but the recent use I put into it(Division beta) I never ran into any issues since it really isn't needed, it's just there to start a game and gets out of the way. So I gotta give Ubi props on that one, but I really have no use for it since none of the games I'm playing or interested in are Ubisoft games lol. I semi-agree with the Xbone guys here, because during the Gamescon 2014 Xbox presentation they said it would be an exclusive on "Xbox"(it should go to the correct time, if not then skip to 52:16): I mean, I don't think "exclusively available on Xbox" can be meant in any other way. So it's a little disingenuous to turn around and also release it on PC. Having said that, it does bother me in some way since I can compare it to if Star Citizen, for some reason, came out and said it's also releasing on consoles. My immediate thought isn't "those dirty peasants" it's "well are they now going to cripple the PC experience to bring it in line with a smoother console release?". But hey that's just my take. I'm assuming very few of the Xbone guys complaining about this are thinking "those PC plebs don't deserve it" but most are probably thinking "well now that it's going to another platform, my console purchase doesn't feel so validated anymore". Which is fine to think that, I certainly wouldn't, but valuing your purchase can be a very sentiment thing for some and not having that "exclusivity" feel is probably why all these people are whining. But hey, that's what I'm interpreting this as, probably wrong here.
  21. Well to be fair I was only posting my math because I was interested to see how big these episodes were they were making an example for lol. I mean, ~360MB a video is quite low(for GoT at least) so I'm surprised they used GoT as an example. But hey that's just me haha.
  22. Unless my line of thinking/math is wrong, but 1,841 Terabytes is almost two Petabytes of data. So you can(I think) make it 1,841,000,000. So that's PB, TB, GB, and then MB. 1,841,000,000 / 5,100,000 = 361.00(rounded up). That's 361MB per video. That's their estimation at least, which is either a very high compressed 720p or a decent compressed 480p video since GoT episodes are a hour long. Or the episodes are being streamed and the streamer source is using high compression on the video stream. Of course I think measuring the amount of data in "X episode" is pants on head stupid, but at least it's something...
  23. I'm guessing it's a broken shortcut link indicator(the cross/X). I'd restart your computer to see if it fixes the issue.
  24. As long as it's the same company that fixed BF4, I'd be interested at the very least. I love Battlefield games, have been playing them since Bad Compnay on Xbox, they don't come out too often which can justify the price at first, but even then they get discounted pretty reasonably fast.
  25. I haven't had eye fatigue in years because I calibrate my monitors enough so this isn't an issue. Turn down brightness and find a moderate color scheme that doesn't have huge amounts of blue tint. Done. 99% of eye fatigue is gone.
