GPU Water Cooling: I Need Help!
PuNkPoEtS replied to BobbyToShay's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
@BobbyToShay the 240mm rad should be enough to drop those temps as GPUs really notice going under water compared to CPUs. When you decide to add your CPU to the loop just pick up atleast another 240mm or a 360mm radso you can turn down the fans some more. If people think a 240 isn't enough look at the R9 295x2 they are hot chips and having 2 on a 120mm rad keeps both under 70℃- 28 replies

A lot of people havent mentioned the most obvious reason to water cool and that's the temps. That's the main reason I watercooled my rig is because the Australian summer is a killer normally but if I want to game I need something to keep those temps down and it looks sexy

It is like the AM3+ chips where the idle temps are a false reading. Try getting hardware monitor as it will show more realistic numbers

How much is it to water cool?
PuNkPoEtS replied to Henleyz's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
you can check out specialtech or overclockers.co.uk as they are in the UK -
Which rad and fans are you using and what RPM are they running at @K_c1n

does silicon react with water?
PuNkPoEtS replied to cluelessgenius's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Well as long as you get a waterproof one that's made for bathrooms and all that you should be good as bathrooms have hot and cold water so its fine -
Wow that's high for a 400mhz oc I have that many volts for a 1ghz oc

Check the watercooling 101 and f.a.as at the top of the sub forum
-
if it is as @Enderman said its only just and then all you have to do is put a slight overclock on the CPU and that will disappear.
-
your 780 is still in ok temps as its only low 80C. doing a custom loop will drop the temps to almost half of it. the H440 is a good watercooling case as it can hold enough rads for your build while keeping the fans on a slower speed

to anyone thats saying he needs more then the 550w. a crossfire setup with the R9 290s only needs 750-850w

That is a QWERTY layout its just the UK version not the US version that everyone knows

it all depends on your budget for the overall build and which parts you choose. its doable as i have a custom loop in my system

Direct to Die Cooling 4790K
PuNkPoEtS replied to DaftBehemoth's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
from what i know of the 4790k doesnt need to be delidded if it does you can replace the IHS and it should still give you fine temps as intel has changed the TIM they used on the devils canyon chips as they found out how bad it was when overclocked. ive read on here also that prime95 and haswell based chips are not a good mix. you should try intel burn test or aida64 to check the temps. -
sorry to hear about your cooler. $250USD is cutting it really fine as your block is going to cost around 130-150 then the pump is gonna cost around $100 so you are already over your budget. unless you only get a universal block for the GPU which means it pretty much like using the kraken g10. personally i would custom loop the CPU as well as it will look alot better and you have enough space in the case to be able to do it as well. here is a list of things you will need. GPU block: a compatible block for your DCUII card radiator: atleast a 120mm radiator pump: i would suggest getting either the laing DDC or D5 pumps as they are reliable res: well with this all its gonna do is hold your coolant so any will do tubing: you are gonna need tubing at your prefered size (everyone prefers different sizes from 3/8"-1/2" all the way to 1/2"-3/4") best companies are Primochill advanced LRT and XSPC FLX fittings: you are gonna need 2 for each component in the loop at the same size as the tubing you choose(if you choose a res/pump combo you only need it for 1 of those) fans: your best bet for fans is high static pressure fans coolant: either distilled water and a kill coil or premixed coolant

i dont think anyone has seen the date it was posted as it states the 22nd of may 2014 and shipping out in the Q2 which its already Q3 now -
leaving it on auto can also kill your chip as it might give too many volts and thats one thing you never want

i love the signatures on the back and that its one of the highest laptops ever

Need watercooling bad...
PuNkPoEtS replied to evilmeister13's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
it all depends on how much you want to overclock. i had a hyper T4 and it got me to 4ghz on air cooling but if you plan on cooling your gpu as well then custom loop is the only way and thats what i done. i got 4.5ghz and i dont even hit 55 degrees on a australian summer day -
I need water cooling masters help.
PuNkPoEtS replied to Leonardo Da Vinci's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
in all honesty i would drop the HDD cooler as there is no way you are going to need to watercool it. it will just give you another spot of possible failure. i dont think that case will fit the 120.4 rad you have selected. also the link for the Liquid Coolant Bottle you have linked is to a google search to tubing. @moos he doesnt need more rad space as he is only doing 2 high heat blocks and it will still give him a MASSIVE oc headroom
