  1. I have an OLD Pentium 4 machine that I use as a DHCP server back in Mexico. It has a whopping 1GB of SDRAM (8x stock) and a 30GB PATA HDD. Too bad It’s 13000Km away, so no photos here.
  2. I tried using pig the stock thermal paste in my h60, but it was so hardened that it almost didn’t stick to the CPU (a 4790k), so I replaced it with good ol’ Arctic Silver 5.
  3. I say leave it alone. It will dry up on its own, a popped blister stings like hell.
  4. Maybe wait and see if the rumours about the GTX 1070ti are true since the Coffe Lake CPUs won’t be available at MSRP for a while.
  5. When I want to hear the exhaust and the whistle from the turbo (moded Honda CR-Z). I oso tun off th e music when I drive with people, because I like to talk and listen to others without beeing interrupted by the music. But I usually have my phone plugged in because iPhone.
  6. Main theme from Borderlands 2. It’s nice to listen to.
  7. This made me chuckle a bit. I don’t, but I have tried.
  8. Borderlands 2 is a weird game. Since I ran it on the OG ZamoRIG (which had an i7 4790K) the game dropped frames like crazy, constantly dropping as low as the mid 20s with a GTX 970 in 1080p when a lot of stuff happened on screen, specially when PhysX is involved (dynamic liquids and particle effects). Could it be because it is a 32bit DX9 title? As for Doom I’m out of ideas there, since it’s DX11 or Vulkan. I get well above 100fps in 1080p with my 1070 and 1700 @3,9GHz. I’m using slightly faster ram though 2800MHz though. I don’t know what else you could do to fix the issue... Maybe it could be some weird setting on your BIOS... Have you tried updating the BIOS? If not, go ahead and do so.
  9. Gamers Nexus did an article on that a while ago. Here’s the video: Article: https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2547-amd-rx-470-crossfire-benchmark-vs-rx-480-and-1070
  10. This is why I uninstalled Origin before buying any games. The crap EA gets away with makes me mad, specially when all their games are the same as the last one with slightly better graphics and a different single player and multiplayer progression system. And to top it off, the games ae F***ING expensive. A single map for $10? WTF?! AND PEOPLE STIL BUY THE DAMN GAMES?! My faith in humanity has almost died.
  11. The way Pascal works, if you are not willing to mod the PCB to trick the core into thinking it’s recieving less power than it actually is, then 99% of all 1080tis will perform the same, unless they are binned. That’s why most of the big channels only reviewes one or two 1080tis. Just go for one you like.
  12. You are forgetting the copious amounts of outdated memes they include in their videos to attract the “kool (13 year old) kidz”.
  13. I don’t know much, but support for Kepler has been a bit flaky. For example, the 970 is now significantly faster than the 780ti. The fact that the 750ti is based on Maxwell means it will probably be better for newer games, specially ones that run on DX12 or Vulkan.
  14. Floatplane is not wot¡rah it the way it is. It will be less worth it if the price rises.
  15. That is an idiot CPU. Get a real one, like Ryzen 5 or 7.
  16. The only things you can effectively (kind of) futureproof are the case and PSU. Get a good looking case and a solid beefy PSU and you won’t need to change them in a long time, unless the ATX standard changes, which I find very unlikely. As for the rest of the components, it’s up to you how long you have want to keep them. There are people with Core2quad machines that are happy with them to this day, and there are people bought an i7 7700K that NEED to buy an i7 8700K. I say buy the best hardware you can afford comfortably and keep it as long as it gives you what you expect from it.
  17. I’ll just speak with a wallet and not buy this game until it comes out in a GOTY Edition or something like that for $5 like what I did with Shadow of Mordor. At least I still have like other 10 games I haven’t played on my Steam account.
  18. I don’t like the 8400 AT ALL. It has half the threads as it’s AMD counterpart (Ryzen 5 1600) and it doesn’t have an unlocked multiplier. I also bet that it comes with a 10g aluminum block that Intel likes to call a heatsink in the box unlike the Spire that comes with the Ryzen. It also only works with expensive z370 boards. The Coffee Lake CPUs I like are the quad core i3s, officially making Ryzen 3 irrelevant, and the twelve threaded i7s, which desroy the less expensive Ryzen 5s and trade blows with more expensive Ryzen 7s. The i5s are just bad, specially the 8400.
  19. I made three major mistakes. First I used the wrong screws to secure the motherboard (didn't read the manual). Second, I didn't notice that the center standoff was a peg with a screw hole, so the motherboard ended up bending quite a bit (it didn't kill it though). Lastly, I paired a Pentium G3258 with a GTX 970. I also did a shit job at cable management.
  20. Don’t but the Athlon, it is a piece of garbage. Save until you have enough money to buy a Ryzen 3 1200, which is twice as fast and has a decent stock cooler.
  21. That “transparent screen” is just an LCD panel with the backlight removed. You could make a transparent 4K monitor by buying a 4K monitor and removing the panel from the case, and then separating the LCD from the backlight.
  22. I've only ordered stuff from Newegg once. It was the RAM I have in ZamoRIG 2.0. It was cheaper to pay for international shipping and import tax than buying it locally. It took about a month to arrive.
  23. Android Phones. I tried a couple of times, but I just can't get used to the different UI, Google constantly nagging me to use their services (I use Microsoft Office 365), the lack of updates (like when there was an error with how bluetooth works which could let a hacker to take full control of my phone and there weren't any updates for months), and other small things. Im just too comfortable with my good ol' iPhone 6.
  24. I don't own a MBP, butI see a couple of problems with this: 1.- I don't think that battery has enough power output to charge a Macbook Pro. They mention the non Pro Macbook in the website you provided, but that one consumes about 20W of power at most. Maybe it will make the battery in a MBP drain a bit slower while in use. 2.- Watt hours have nothing to do with degrading of a battery, it is a measurement of how much charge they can hold. Batteries degrade each time they are drained and recharged. In short, this battery is not suitable for a Macbook Pro, not because it will kill it, but because it won't charge it. You'll get maybe 20 more minutes with it if you leave it plugged in from 100% charge (in the laptop).
  25. I totally forgot!!! You just have to leave the machine turned on for a while (10 minutes at least) even if there is nothing going on on screen. Happened to me the first time I turned on my Ryzen rig the day Ryzen 7 was launched.
