  1. Ill probably use the USB C port every other day. I wish fractal would refresh the Meshify C because I didn’t want to get a big case like the S2. If they made their I/O like the H510, got rid of the thumb screws so the glass panel is flush and give the option for a grill without that fractal badge then the case would be perfect.
  2. yeah from what I gather the Asus bios is a lot more refined than the MSI bios. Outside of that performance & aesthetics are my main concern and to me the Asus board looks better but the MSI has more connections on the rear I/O. I don't necessarily need the ports but it would be nice to have them. At the moment I have a Meshify C case with the dark tempered glass so looks are probably not too big a deal but I was also considering switching to the NZXT H510 for the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port on the front I/O. But I guess I could have that glass panel tinted too lol
  3. MSI - MEG Z390 ACE ASUS - ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI) I have a bunch of best buy gift cards so that's the main reason I narrowed it down to these two boards to pair with my 9900KF. When the 3080TI drops I'll probably be getting the same brand GPU so I guess that could be something to consider too. I'm going to be using this computer for mostly gaming/streaming and maybe some video encoding every now and then. Which board (and by extension brand) do you guys think would be the better investment?
  4. might be because they're spoiled. Having the latest and greatest is always a joy to work with. I used to have a 5930K for my rig and moving to a 6700K in my current there is definitely a difference. it's not to big of a deal to me because I only post league of legend videos every now and then but when you are doing youtube as a full time job instead of a hobby then I could see you wanting to streamline the process as much as possible. especially if you were going from something like an I5 to lets say a 6850K. Even then unless you were someone like linus himself i'd say the 6900 + 6950K is overkill.
  5. I know there will be a slight hit on noise dampening but the way I see it glass being heavier than acrylic means it wont be as bad as the windowed version. the top, front, and back will still have it's sound dampening and i'm using all noctua fans on the inside so it's not going to be loud to begin with.
  6. I'm looking into getting the Fractal Design Mini C because I love the design/size and the attention to noise dampening fractal puts into their case. I know a tempered glass side would hit the acoustics a little bit i think the visual appeal would be more than worth it in this case. What are the chances of them riding the tempered glass wave and adding it to this case? Should I hold out for CES or pull the trigger now?
  7. thanks!!! i somehow missed that on their site lol but now i got the part number for what i needed.
  8. Anyone know of a "Vibration-Compensator" (like those that come with noctua fans) replacement or maybe a place where you can buy the official nocua ones? I've seen a couple of random one's on amazon with pretty decent reviews but I wanted to know if anyone had any they'd recommend or knew were legit.
  9. replace the stock noctua fan with this one: http://noctua.at/en/products/fan/nf-a9-pwm the NH-L9i should have came with the screws you need to install it.
  10. I'd like to thank everyone for their input. i know nobody has probably taken all 3 fans and tested them in that case specifically so i know im asking a lot. I personally at this point think the P12 is the best of both worlds (silence+airflow). I just wish i used noctua fans before to have a point of reference for the noise they make lol
  11. would you say they do in this case? silence is my number 1 priority. and if the S12A can pull air from limited air space (the .23" gap the case will have over glass) and through a fan filter and still have the pressure to push out the hot air then im good with that. i want the quietest fans that can do the job well. price really isnt a factor. put it this way im probably going to be using the NH-L9i cpu cooler and if i could get lower noise while maintaining the same cooling performance i would swap out the nf-a9x14 fan it comes with and get a nf-a9.
  12. I've decided against putting a GPU in there for now but It would be an MSI GTX 970 4G. From what i've read blower style is the best you want for this case and all i have is open GPU's.
  13. you're right calling the NF-12 overkill is a bit much if anything it might be exactly what I need considering this case does not have an exhaust fan and the air does have to travel throughout the case and will have multiple points of obstruction. but with the NF-S12A I feel like it would have difficulty pulling in air being that it is not optimized for static pressure. the pc laying horizontally will be about a quarter of an inch off the glass and then it has to pull air into the case through a dust filter with enough positive pressure to exhaust it to one of many grills. thinking about it that way and after watching the video @SCHISCHKA recommended, even if i don't use a GPU the more positive pressure the better. they would all work fine but the NF would more than likely work best.
  14. so if we were going with noctua fans for example the NF-S12A is out of the question and the NF-F12 is overkill so would you go with the NF-P12? am i missing out on anything with the SS02 bearing?
  15. Fractal Design Node 202 This case is primarily going to be used as an HTPC but I may put my old 970 in at some point. The main question is which type of fan do you think would create the best air circulation in this case? I plan on laying it horizontal so it will be pulling air from the bottom and it will be sitting on a glass shelf. I'm thinking static pressure might be the way to go but I just wanted a second opinion.
