  1. Hi unfortunately that budget is definitely isn't what I had in mind. Isn't there any smarter cordless phone options then? I was looking around and the VTech-IS8151-5 seems to meet most of my requirements. Except for the mobile app part, I will look into PBXs and if there's a way I can self host my own. But I might just end up going with the VTech option if I can't find anything that has that feature.
  2. Hi everyone, I need some help in figuring out what I am trying to do is called and if it's even possible. And help in directing my research is greatly appreciated. Firstly, my ISP has a bundled landline number with my package, this is accessed through a RJ11 port on the back of my ISP Modem and is too my knowledge a standard analog line (I have not tried it with a phone other than the one my ISP provides, but plan to soon as I'm looking to get a cordless extension). Secondly, I have a Unifi setup for my networking, if there's any way this would make it simpler. Or if Unifi talk in any way can accomplish what I want it to do. I want to have a system in place that can:- 1. Connect to the telephone jack and provide access to that line wirelessly through the house. For example, a base station and either WiFi or RF extension phones I can have in different rooms. Ethernet is also an option but not perfectly ideal. 2. The base station should have voicemail and call routing options, like extensions to ring specific phones in the home. 3. The different phones in the house should be able to call each other, like local intercom kind of thing. Call 0004 to ring the phone assigned extension 0004 and talk with the person on that phone. 4. Not necessary but a nice to have, would be an application for Android that would have the status of the line, for example being able to listen to voicemail etc. Having a call to the landline be able to ring the app as well would be a bonus. Or even calling from the app and having it use the landline to do the call. (Don't know if that last part will be used but would be nice to know if it's possible) Is there any system like this already? Or is there anyway I can accomplish this? What are the keywords I need to be searching to learn more? Thanking everyone in advance for the kind assistance.
  3. Hi all, I have a gaming/workstation setup, 2 monitors, webcam, keyboard, mouse. I would like to swap these devices between my current workstation and my company laptop using a KVM switch. Budget is $120 hopefully $200 max. I can't seem to find one that meet those requirements. Edit*: USB 3.0 as the uplink from the PC if possible. USB C optional Any suggestions?
  4. Hey, did you find anything that suits your above needs? I am in a similar situation.
  5. If your switching to windows, isn't onenote the best for what u want? In my personal experience that is.
  6. Thanks to everyone for all the idea and help! I'll have to figure out what to do, but I'll try the just hart mixer suggested above. Looks to be the closest to what I'm looking for.
  7. Hey, does anyone know of a product that I could plug the 3.5mm from my desktop, laptop, PlayStation into and then have 3 outputs? One to speakers, one to amp then headset, and one to Bluetooth transmitter (bonus if Bluetooth is built in). I'm thinking it's basically like a HDMI switcher but for 3.5mm jacks. I saw someone recommend using the line in on ur PC and then using windows playback option. But I rather have a dedicated piece of hardware to do this. If anyone knows of any way I can accomplish this or anything close to it please let me know. Or at least what's the proper name for this, so my googling can be easier. Thanks in advance!
  8. Budget will depend mainly on how much sponsors we can get ($3000 USD) excluding cost of GPU. Form factor, doesn't matter, server preferred but tower can be used as well. Power is not an issue, what ever psu is needed to run it we will have to get it. RAM, 64 GB min depending on budget. 128 GB preferred (maybe even more if budget allows) No more VRAM is needed, titan should be fine. Maybe later on if we do need more we will do the multiple. Atm it is bottle necked by the CPU and RAM mainly
  9. Hi good day, My team is working on some neural network modeling for use in the medical sector. However some of the datasets we are working with are between 10 - 30 GB of data. We are running into some resource complications, having to truncate our data. Google Colab isn't a solution as we are outside the US and can't use Colab Pro. At the moment we can use a machine provided by a professor at our university, however this can only be used for some hours on some days. (i9-9900k, 64GB RAM, Nvidia RTX Titan). Even with this setup some data processing jobs takes 6-10 hours and even more. We are interested in building a Server to run JupyterHub for our use. I would like some recommendations on what would you all recommend for the CPU and the amount of RAM as we regularly hit the caps on both. As well as, some advice on how to ask companies if they are willing to sponsor some components to help further our contributions to the research field. Thanking you in advance for your time and help.
  10. Just letting you know i got it to work quite easily actually as my home router has a openvpn function, setup was quite simple!
  11. Thanks for the help and information! You've been a great help!
  12. So what i was seeing on the plex website (please correct me if i am wrong). Streaming on LAN is Free and unlimited. However streaming over the internet is limited to one minute of the video and pictures are watermarked, regardless of if it's just one user. Can i watch a movie from my home pc over the internet in let say hong kong (ignore bandwidth and connection speeds), with just a free plex account?
